Abstract: An injection device comprises a syringe extendible against a spring bias from a retracted position in a housing to a projecting injecting position. A spring biased plunger has collapsible elbows which, when the plunger is released, initially engage the end of the syringe to drive it to the projecting position, whereupon arresting of the syringe movement causes the elbows to collapse inside the syringe to allow the plunger to engage and drive the bung.

  • Patent number: 9630829
Abstract: A bottle valve has a flapper valve and a base insert. The base insert can be pressure fit into the mouth of a beverage bottle. The insert has support members that extend from a sidewall towards the center. At the convergence of the support members is a dome seat. The flapper valve rests atop and inside the base insert and has a dispensing port. The port fits over the dome seat and presses against it to form a seal. When pressure is applied to the bottle, it is deformed and the liquid therein is forced to flow between the support members, pushing the flexible flapper seal away from the dome seat and allowing the liquid to flow out of the bottle mouth. When the pressure is relieved, the flapper seal returns to its rest position against the dome seat, reforming the seal and stopping air from flowing into the bottle.

  • Patent number: 6974053
Abstract: The invention concerns a dispensing and closure system arranged at the top of a container, in particular a soft tube comprising a liquid or pasty product, which is delivered by pressing on the tube. The invention is characterized in that it consists of a valve comprising two concentric elements, one of which forms a mobile cylindrical delivery valve and the other forms a cylindrical body exiting from a plate linked to the tube. The two elements defined between them an annular gap through which the product passes. When a manual pressure is exerted on the tube, it causes the product to act directly on the delivery valve causing the latter to open, countering an elastic return member, so as to allow the product to escape from the tube, when the pressure is exerted thereon and to automatically close the delivery valve when the pressure is released, preventing the possible return of the product already dispensed from returning inside the tube.

  • Patent number: 6609666
Abstract: A unitary over-molded non-clogging system having mechanical breakup capability, a positive shutoff flared wall skirt, having two different overmolded materials forming a laminate combination. The soft flexible face inner portion with a flexible positive shutoff in combination, with mating sealing surface points at two distinct positions, on a conventional actuator body post, forms half of the unitary fitment. A hard portion contour forms the outer half, maintaining registration and retention of the entire overmold fitment within the actuator. This overmold combination fit provides these features without increasing the total amount of parts normally used in conventional spray actuators on pumps and aerosol systems. The actuator can employ a post with or without a mechanical breakup face while the mating surface of the inner soft interfacing portion would compliment it. This type of actuator also can be used as an outlet valve means for pumps, reducing overall cost.

  • Patent number: 5782386
Abstract: An annular tapered valve seat and mating valve on a valve member are secured in fluid communication with a container interior. Fluid in the container under pressure axially displaces the valve from its seat, flows through the interface between the valve and seat and is discharged through a transverse conduit in the valve member and an axial central conduit in the valve member stem which is sealingly engaged with a bore in the housing with annular ribs for guiding the stem. A tapered valve chamber wall engages a shoulder on the valve member for limiting the axial displacement of the valve member to retain fluid in the interface in the absence of container pressure above ambient. The fluid in the interface precludes ambient air passing to the container interior so that a negative pressure in the container results in ambient air pressure forcing the valve to its closed position.

A closure member is disclosed, adapted to open responsive to the pressure of a medicament being dispensed, without disengaging from the reservoir in which the medicament is contained. A telescoping plunger assembly is disclosed, having impeller means disposed within the reservoir opposite the cap member and engaging means to lock the assembly in an extended position for urging the impeller means through the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 4462436
Abstract: This disclosure illustrates and describes a filler valve assembly including a fluid pressure-activated upper control valve, a spring for urging the control valve closed, a fixed lower flow control valve, a nozzle slidably mounted in the lower end of the valve body, a second spring for normally urging the nozzle into a capillary seal relationship with the lower flow control valve, and spacer means extending between the nozzle and the upper control valve. Upon receiving a measured volume of fluid under pressure from an external source, the upper control valve is opened, causing the nozzle to move relative to the fixed lower flow control valve and thereby discharge a measured volume of fluid product into a container therebelow.

  • Patent number: 4141474
Abstract: A self-closing closure for a tube or package having a resilient wall for dispensing flowable material upon the application of pressure on the tube, utilizing a relatively stiff spider for supporting an outwardly extending valve stem having a closed outer surface and a diaphragm member having its periphery interconnected with the periphery of the spider to form a closure unit and its inner portion forming a valve with the valve stem. The diaphragm member is formed with a relatively thick flange substantially parallel with the walls of the tube for interconnection therewith, a relatively thin, resilient planar portion extending inwardly toward the stem, and a substantially tubular portion surrounding the stem and terminating in an open lip which makes a close, sliding fit with the outer surface of the stem. The resilient, planar portion of the diaphragm member is normally concave, being formed with an unstressed negative angle of substantially 5.degree. to 15.degree.

  • Patent number: 4057177
Abstract: A valved squeeze bottle for viscous products has a valve comprising two plastic parts cooperatively forming a chamber into which the viscous product can be squeezed by squeezing the squeeze bottle, to elastically separate the parts which together form a sleeve valve opened by the separation of the parts and which recloses when the bottle squeeze pressure is released so the parts return, one of the parts forming a check valve permitting entrance of air into the bottle. The squeeze bottle and the valve parts are made of elastically deformable plastic which after being deformed, springs back to its original shape.

  • Patent number: 4008834
Abstract: An improved type of tip seal for a dispensing arrangement used for dispensing viscous products and the like with the tip seal comprising essentially an inner stem attached to a body portion, an outer stem slidably mounted over the body portion and having an opening which mates with the tip of the inner stem to form the tip seal and a stretchable rubber member holding the outer stem in contact with the inner stem when no pressure is supplied inside the body but stretching in response to pressure to open the tip seal to permit dispensing of material.
