Skirt Or Trousers Patents (Class 223/95)
  • Patent number: 4854489
Abstract: A garment hanger is provided comprising a middle section with a hanging member such as a hook mounted thereon and two end sections with means for engaging a garment. At least one of the end sections is arranged for sliding movement relative to the middle section between a retracted position and an extended position. In particular, the end section may be telescopically mounted within the middle section. The end section is urged towards the extended position by an elastomeric band. In one aspect of the invention, the elastomeric band, when in the retracted position of the end section, is longer than the length of overlap between the said end section and the middle section. In another aspect of the invention, the band is trained in a path such that, as it stretches, an increasing proportion of the material of the band extends between the end section and the middle section to urge those sections apart.

  • Patent number: 4832239
Abstract: A clothes-hanger for skirts or trousers has a central body (1) with two side walls (12) which define between them an axial channel (10) for accommodating at least one compression spring (7). The hanger further has an end piece (2) inserted in each end of the central body, and a hook (5) mounted on the central body. The displacement of the end piece by means of the compression spring out of the central body is restricted by stop means consisting of cooperating lugs (8, 11) at least one (8) of which is provided on the central body and at least one (11) of which is provided on the end piece. The lug (8) on the central body is provided on one of the side walls (12) thereof. When mounting the end piece in the central body, the lug on the end piece can freely pass the lug on the central body by urging it and, hence, the side wall (12) outwardly. After the lug on the end piece has passed the lug on the central body, the latter lug will snap in behind the former.

  • Patent number: 4813581
Abstract: A collapsible coat hanger formed of plastic includes a hook supported by a body member having right and left hanger arms attached thereto by hinges. The body includes a stop member and outer stop shoulders. Right and left symmetrical hinged locking arms are connected by hinges to inner surfaces of the left and right hanger arms and are connected together at their upper inner edges by a center hinge. Each locking bar has an upper boss with a perpendicular bearing surface. The ends of a C-shaped integral spring are attached to the left and right locking arms, respectively, by hinges on either side of the center hinge. When the hanger is collapsed, the spring is in its relaxed configuration, and the center hinge is below the spring hinges. When the hanger is in its open configuration, the center hinge is above the spring hinges and engages the stop member. The bearing surfaces engage shoulders of the stop member, locking the hanger in its open configuration.

  • Patent number: 4793531
Abstract: A hanger for garments of the type having a waistband has a rigid body resistant to compression loads applied lengthwise thereof. The ends of the hanger are so designed that the waistband of a garment can be wrapped around them and then resiliently pulled with sufficient force that the garment seats firmly against the end faces of the hanger body. The hanger has one or more hooks to engage the waistband and a resilient stretchable member to apply tension to the waistband by means of the hook. The end faces of the hanger are so designed that the garment, once tensioned along its waistband, will have no tendency to slide either upwardly or downwardly with respect to the hanger body.

  • Patent number: 4746040
Abstract: Hanger for trousers, comprising: (a) a tensioning member (1) having two tensioning arms (3) which move apart and have carrying pieces (4) on the ends, and (b) a U-shaped or virtually U-shaped attachment (2) having two limbs. Both parts are intended to grip onto the waistband (11) of a pair of trousers, and in such a way that the attachment grips with the limbs onto the waistband at the point of the front folds (13) thereof, while the tensioning member grips on the one side with its carrying pieces onto the waistband via the limbs of the attachment, thereby clamping free parts (12) of the waistband, and on the other side grips directly onto the waistband at the point of the rear fold (14) therein. The dimensions of carrying pieces and attachment are adapted to each other such that, at least after being fitted on a pair of trousers, a carrying piece (4) cannot pass between the limbs (8) of the attachment.

  • Patent number: 4744496
Abstract: A hanger for garments with a waistband having at least a limited degree of stretchability has a compression resistant body with dependent end members having garment gripping end faces. Between the end members, the hanger body has a plurality of dependent fingers arranged in two groups, one on each side of the center of the hanger body. The fingers are arranged at spacings to accommodate a variety of garment sizes, the waistbands of which are wrapped around both ends of the hanger and anchored to a selected pair of the fingers. In a modified construction, the fingers are hinged so they can be pivoted out of the plane of the hanger body to facilitate mounting and removal of the garments.

  • Patent number: 4623080
Abstract: The slip-proof trouser hanger faultlessly stretches trousers hung thereupon. The legs of the trousers cannot slide off from stretching prongs of the trouser hanger and the material of the trousers is not undesirably deformed or distorted by the trouser hanger. Differences in the width of the trousers' legs are permitted and compensated for by one movable pair of stretching prongs at a stretching rod of the trouser hanger. It is of significance in the design of the trouser hanger that engaging edges for engaging the legs of the trousers in the movable pair of stretching prongs are rearwardly offset with respect to a pivot axis of such movable pair of stretching prongs, i.e. in a direction towards the other pair of stretching prongs, by an amount in the range of about 3 to about 4 mm.

  • Patent number: 4120433
Abstract: A pants hanger is formed with parallel spaced first and second elongated support portions depending from a third support portion having a hook adapted to engage a horizontal clothes bar. The second support portion is cantileveredly positioned above the first support portion and is integrally connected by the first support portion to the third support portion. The free end of the second support portion extends past the integral connection of the first and third support portions to form a guide. In one embodiment, the support portions of the hanger are formed by bending a one-piece metal rod. The hanger is attached to a pair of pants by inverting both the pants and the hanger and then moving the hanger so that the second support portion slides onto one side of the pants, and the first and third support portions slide onto the other side of the pants. When the hanger is rotated to an upright position, the pants wrap around the second support portion and are retained in a depending position below the hook.
