Patent number: 4557408Abstract: A manually operable needle threading device comprises a housing having a recess for positioning the eye of a needle to be threaded in alignment with the path of a displaceable thread pusher member in the housing, whereby displacement of the pusher member from a retracted to an extended position pushes a portion of a thread between the needle and pusher member through the needle eye. The pusher member displaces the portion of thread between gripping fingers on the housing which hold the thread portion upon displacement of the pusher member from the extended to the retracted position. The portion of thread remains attached to the threading device upon separation of the needle therefrom until a loose end of the thread passes through the needle eye to complete the threading operation, after which the thread portion is released from the threading device. In one embodiment the housing is of pistol-like configuration facilitating handling and operation of the threading device.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 1984Date of Patent: December 10, 1985Inventor: Arnoldus Biemans

Patent number: 4522324Abstract: The stitching device is used for stitching work, for instance, on upholstery or mattresses and includes a hollow needle (1), and intermediate piece (2), and a guide tube (3) for a push rod. Laterally on the intermediate piece there is attached a magazine (14) in which a stack of pins (5) is located. On the magazine there is also provided a handle (6) and a holder (7) for a thread bobbin (71). The thread (F) goes through the entire stack of pins and emerges the needle (1) laterally at the bottom. During operation, the needle (1) is pushed through the object to be sewn until its point protrudes at the bottom of the object. By pressure on the bottom (33), the push rod is operated and pushes a single pin (5) out of the lower opening of the needle with the needle pulling the thread along therewith. Now the needle can be pulled out of the object--with the pin (5) holding the thusly formed loop on the bottom side of the object.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 1984Date of Patent: June 11, 1985Inventor: Karl W. Patent number: 4296877Abstract: A needle threader usable by those who find it difficult to thread a needle in a conventional manner. The threader is constituted by an upstanding blade whose lower end is anchored and whose upper end or head is V-notched to loosely receive within its trough the end of a yarn or filament to be threaded. The width and thickness of the head is such as to be passable through the eye of the needle to be threaded. When the eye of the needle is brought over the head to a point below the trough of the notch, the thread is formed into a loop whose feet are clamped by the eye against the blade, and when the needle is thereafter retracted from the head, it carries the loop with it. Finally, the operator pulls the loop out of the eye and thereby threads the needle.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 1977Date of Patent: October 27, 1981Inventor: Allen Lubow
