Abstract: A utility box structure for pick-up trucks and the like, wherein a guide rail of the structure is adapted for mounting on the top rim of the sides and front of the cargo body of the vehicle within the cargo bay thereof, wherein the box is affixed to rail follower means mounted within the guide rail structure whereby the box can be moved by hand along the guide rail structure to easily position the box at the front or at either side of the cargo bay or at any location therebetween.

Abstract: A vehicle utility deck and storage system provides improved storage for bedded vehicles. In one embodiment, the deck system (104a) is positioned within the bed (108) of a pickup (102). The system (104a) includes a deck (114a) that substantially matches the dimensions and contours of the bed (108) and support legs (122) for supporting the deck system (104a) on the surface of the bed (108). The system (104a) further includes a number of removable storage bins (124) that can be accessed via hinged hatches (116a).

Abstract: A lifting mechanism for a toolbox contained in a truck box is provided. The lifting mechanism may include an outer truck box having a cover, an inner toolbox, and a tray that supports the inner box. A connecting link is coupled to the cover and to the tray for guiding the inner box between an elevated position and a lowered position. A lift assist, such as a gas spring, is coupled to the cover for lifting the inner box when the cover is opened and lowering the inner box when the cover is closed. In another embodiment, the lifting mechanism may comprise an L-shaped slotted link mounted to the cover and to the tray for guiding the inner box between the elevated position and the lowered position.

Abstract: A tool box can be unfolded for use in holding tools or other items, and then folded up, to avoid taking up space in a pick-up truck cargo box when the tool box is not in use. The toolbox may have a folding panel assembly including a first panel, a second panel pivotally attached to the first panel, and a third panel pivotally attached to the second panel. The folding panel assembly is foldable into an open position and into a closed position. In the open position, one or more of the panels may be supported on left and right side end frames attached to the inner sidewalls of the pick-up truck cargo box.

The toolbox seating assembly is installed in the bed of a pickup truck, wherein the toolbox includes a hinged lid, and wherein a bench style seat may be stored the toolbox when not in use, and may be positioned within the upper portion of the toolbox when in use to provide comfortable rearward seating within the bed of the truck.

Abstract: The invention is an apparatus for use with a vehicle having a tailgate. The apparatus has a frame hingedly mounted to an exterior of the tailgate with at least about 270° of rotation relative to the tailgate. The apparatus has first and second arms pivotably mounted on opposite sides of the frame with at least about 90° of rotation relative to the frame from a resting position, in which the arms are substantially parallel to the frame, to an extended position. First and second panels mount between the arms when the arms are extended, wherein the first panel is mounted to ends of the arms that are opposite the frame and the second panel is mounted to an underside of each of the arms.

Abstract: A combination toolbox and seating assembly is provided. The toolbox seating assembly is installed in the bed of a pickup truck, wherein the toolbox includes a hinged lid, and wherein a bench style seat may be stored within the lid of the toolbox when not in use, and may be positioned within the upper portion of the toolbox when in use to provide comfortable rearward seating within the bed of the truck.

Abstract: The invention is a mobile blueprint holder wherein a box mounts along an interior side of a pickup truck bed. The box opens to allow the blueprint table to fold out where the blueprint table rests at an angle. When not in use the blueprints and the blueprint table fold away for safe storage. The blueprint table folds along the middle and contains a plurality of clips for holding a blueprint in place.

Abstract: An adjustable toolbox for use in conjunction with a bed on a pickup. The adjustable toolbox includes a base portion, a mounting portion and a lid portion. The base portion has a recess formed therein that is adapted to receive at least one object. The mounting portion is operably attached to the base portion so that at least part of the mounting portion is slidable with respect to the base portion to adjust a width of the adjustable toolbox. The lid portion is operably attached to at least one of the base portion and the mounting portion.

Abstract: A glazier rack and tool chest apparatus for supporting and transporting large glass pieces, including window glass and providing a tool chest in a truck bed, the apparatus providing a hollow base and a top section. In one embodiment, the base provides two top accesses, a pair of side doors, and a front door to access the interior for tool storage and the top section provides a storage tube. The top section hingedly extends to a position atop the base to form, in conjunction with the base, a slanted surface to support large pieces of glass, including window glass, at an angle for stable transport. Tracks affixed to the truck bed and track slides affixed to the base are removably and slidingly engaged for easy removal of the apparatus for multi-use of the truck bed.

Abstract: A truck bed mountable storage system that includes a container unit and a dock unit. The container unit includes a base container defining a storage space for storing items and a cover. The cover is movable between an open condition permitting access to the storage space and a closed condition preventing access to the storage space. The container unit also includes a latch engaging structure. The dock unit is constructed and arranged to be fixed to a truck bed. The docking unit includes a latch arranged to releasably lock the latch engaging structure so as to releasably lock the container unit to the dock unit. The dock unit carries a release member that is movable to release the latch and thereby release the container unit from the dock unit. Another aspect of the invention provides for the dock unit to include the latch engaging structure and the container unit to include the latch and release member.

The bottom section is disposed below the middle section, and is monolithically formed with the middle section. Each of the sections includes isolated compartments for housing objects therein. A mechanism independently locks the compartments, and another mechanism transports and supports the body along a ground surface when the body is removed from the pickup truck bed. The transporting and supporting mechanism is attached to a bottom surface of the body.

The perimeter wall has a top edge defining an aperture into an interior of the upper housing. A second cover is hingedly coupled to the perimeter wall. The second cover is positionable in a closed position extending over the aperture or an open position exposing the aperture. A plurality of arrows is removably positioned in the upper housing and a bow is removably positioned in the lower housing.

Abstract: A utility box container primarily used in pick-ups or SUV's that will allow better utilization of the full truck bed by being able to access the back of the bed. The container is generally from four feet to eight feet in length and wide enough to allow two to three units to be used together, the dimensions depend on the pick-up bed length it is to be used in. The box is also collapsible. The ability to collapse the container in place in the bed of the truck allows for placing large objects into the pick-up bed without the need to remove the container. The large objects can be placed directly on top of the collapsed box.

In the closed position the video monitor may be oriented substantially parallel to the lid. The video monitor may be connected to one or more electronic devices for providing live broadcast or recorded video.

Abstract: A pickup truck toolbox device is accessed from the sides of the truck through side sliding doors that open and close simultaneously and lock down. The toolbox provides a rolling tray that slides toward the user for easy access to material stored in the tray, or away from the user, and partially out the far opening, to allow for access to a large storage area below the tray. The tray also converts to a rolling cart to transport tools and material to an area away from the truck. The entire toolbox sits on the side rails of the truck and is elevated above the bed of the truck, keeping the bed free for transport of longer items.

Abstract: A sliding bed accessory arrangement is provided with a sliding bed accessory, such as an upper bed tray, that is configured to slide between and retained in several different positions within a vehicle cargo bed. The sliding bed accessory arrangement has a pair of tracks fixedly attached to opposite sides of a vehicle cargo area with a pair of mounting arrangements slideably supporting the bed accessory in the tracks. Each of the mounting arrangements has an elongated rail and a pair of connectors coupled to opposite ends of the elongated rail to retain and stabilize opposite ends of the elongated rail within the track. The mounting arrangements are configured such that the elongated rails do not need to be longitudinally inserted into the tracks.

The cover includes a door inner, and a door outer. The invention also includes a first rail positioned between the container and the quarter panel. The container is integrally formed with the first rail, and is located between the first rail and the inner wall. The first rail supports the container, and the cover can be moved from the open position to the closed position, allowing access to the container.

The system includes at least one access portion, such as but not limited to a door member, for providing access to the interior of a box portion. The box portion includes a weather stripping and door arrangement that allows flat access to the load floor of the box portion. The load floor of the box portion is above the level of the access door's weather stripping flange portion. The system includes various additional access portions, including but not limited to multiple door configurations that articulate in several different manners. The system also includes various storage and support devices such as but not limited to drawers, shelves, tables, and/or the like.

Abstract: Gates on motorized and non-motorized vehicles such as the tailgate of a truck have started to be used for the attachment of accessories. The accessories on the market often attach directly to the existing gate and may take up significant room from the vehicle cargo space. The accessory may have to be removed from the gate prior to transport. Most often the accessory is used with the gate dropped in the traditional manner. This invention allows for a gate design into which a variety of accessories such as a barbecue, toolbox, storage units, fold-out ladders, bed extension, and a variety of other accessories can easily be interchanged. The gate and accessory may be configured so that it can be used in several different positions including the traditionally open gate position and a position where the gate assumes a swung out table top position.

Abstract: The truck box is provided with a reduced clearance cover and a 90 degree cover opening. The mounting arrangement for the cover is offset from the back wall of the box. Thus, less clearance is required to accommodate the cover of the box in its open 90 degree position. The truck box is also provided with an access for electrical cord passthrough in one of its walls through which an electrical cord can be fed. As a result, power can be safely and easily provided to equipment positioned on the box.

Abstract: A swing-out tool chest provides a multi-drawer tool storage chest for organization of tools. The multi-drawer tool storage chest is pivotally mounted in the rear corner of the pickup bed or near the rear doors of a utility van. When not in use, the swing-out tool chest nestles against the side of the vehicle between the tailgate (or rear doors of a utility van) and the wheel well. To gain access to the tools, the operator opens the tailgate and swings the swing-out tool chest toward the rear of the bed. The tools are easily accessible and, in the case of a pickup, the tail gate provides a convenient work area. The present invention further includes a method of converting a commercially available locking tool storage chest to a swing-out tool chest mounted in a pickup bed, van, utility truck, or other vehicle.

Abstract: A toolbox having enhanced weather protection includes a base component and a top component connected together by a pair of pivot assemblies. When the top component is pivoted downwardly towards the base component, it forms a first weather and wind seal around its outer perimeter. The top and bottom components each include weather-sealing inside flanges that are complimentary so that when the top component and base component are closed, a secondary weather and wind seal is formed.

Abstract: A storage container adapted to be mounted to the bed of a pick-up truck. The container is designed to house golf paraphernalia, especially a golf bag (including a full array of clubs) and other golf equipment such as shoes. The container is securely mounted to the bed of the pick-up, but can be quickly and easily slid over the tailgate to allow for easy access. The container is fabricated from hard plastic or similar light-weight, rigid, weatherproof material. A hinged cover allows easy access to the interior of the container. The tailgate end of the bottom half of the container is provided with a hinged section to allow for easy loading and unloading of the golf paraphernalia. Wheels are mounted on the bottom of the container to permit portability if desired.

The slots are each configured to releasably receive one of a pair of locking members attached to opposite side walls of a pickup bed. Abstract: A sliding tray trunk for a vehicle having a mounting base attached to a vehicle, a storage device slidably attached on top of the mounting base, a locking cover that secures the storage box over the lower storage box, and one or more stops to limit sliding of the storage device on the mounting base to a predetermined distance is provided. The mounting device can be a lower storage box, on the top of which the storage device is slidably attached. The lower storage box has a substantially rectangular shape. The lower storage box has two rails on which the storage box can slide. A plurality of wheels are rotatably attached on each of the rails, and the storage device slides by rotation of the wheels. Alternatively, the mounting base can include a security panel connected to the mounting base by braces and struts and rimmed with a seal.

The box includes doors to either side and neither the box nor the doors extend above the top of the sidewalls of the truck bed. The box may include a pivotally mounted top. A mounting assembly enclosely attaches the box to each longitudinal beam of the truck frame. The assembly includes a tab to mount to a mounting point on the truck frame. A J-bolt is associated with a bracket on the assembly and extends to a hole in the truck frame to engage the hole in tension. A locating tab is on the other side of the assembly from the J-bolt to cooperate with the J-bolt to laterally locate the mounting assembly on the frame.

A first panel is hingedly connected to an intermediate panel, which is hingedly connected to a second panel, which is pivotally connected to the storage box. The panels are operable in (a) a collapsed mode, where the panels fold substantially vertically against one another, and (b) an extended mode, where the first panel moves outwardly to a substantially vertical position and the intermediate and pivot panel pivot downward to a substantially horizontal position.

Abstract: A uniquely designed truck bed cover for securing cargo in a truck bed includes a lower section having a bottom wall with a pair of upstanding sidewalls extending therefrom. Formed on the bottom wall is an elongated groove configured to slidably receive a beam mounted on the bottom surface of the truck bed. On the exterior surface of each sidewall is a ball bearing. The device also includes an upper section having a top wall with a pair of sidewalls depending therefrom. Each sidewall includes an L-shaped channel formed on the interior surface thereof that receives one of the ball bearings on the lower section to cooperatively join the two sections.

Abstract: A storage device for the bed of a pickup truck has a body with a storage area therein and a scissors lift connected to the body for moving the body between a first position on the bed of the truck and a second position above a side wall of the truck. The scissors lift includes a top plate, a bottom plate, first and second scissors pivotally connected to the top plates and a motor cooperative with the scissors so as to move the top plate relative to the bottom plate. A spring is in tension and extends between the scissors between when the body is in the first position.

Abstract: A truck with one or more storage compartments in the bed adjacent the side panels and in which a hinged panel in the side panel or fender allows access to a storage compartment. The side panels maintain the appearance of a conventional pickup truck without storage compartments.

Abstract: An integrated storage arrangement for a vehicle having a cargo bed with a load floor positioned external to a passenger cab of the vehicle is provided. The storage arrangement includes an access opening positioned in the load floor of the cargo bed. A storage recess is positioned in relation to and accessible through the access opening. The storage recess includes a drain assembly and a container retention mechanism. A panel is moveably attached to the load floor of the cargo bed and is arranged to cover the access opening such that in a closed position, the cover is positioned substantially parallel to and flush with the cargo bed load floor.

Abstract: An improved truck bed extender particularly adapted for ease of installation and removal. When not being used to extend the truck bed, the extender is advantageously adapted to quickly and easily create a secondary storage area. In one embodiment, the extender includes a first side wall, a second side wall, a connecting wall, a first mount and a second mount. The connecting wall extends between the first side wall and the second side wall, and cooperates with the first side wall and second side wall to form a generally U-shape frame. The first mount is secured to the first side wall and includes a first interlocking member. The second mount is secured to the second side wall and comprises a second interlocking member.
