Abstract: A backpack assembly in which the straps are connected across the wearer's chest by a easy to connect and disconnect coupling member. Alternately, the snaps can be connected so that they extend vertically along the chest.

Abstract: A carrier for sports balls and similar articles that is mutually convertible between a back pack and a shoulder bag without the addition or subtraction of any element. The carrier includes a primary bag comprised of a flexible shell of material with an exterior surface that encloses an open inner volume of sufficient size for retaining a sports ball. Upper central, lower central, first lateral, and second lateral coupling elements are affixed to the exterior surface of the primary bag. An elongated and flexible strap with a first end with a selectively disengagable first attaching mechanism, a second end with a selectively disengagable second attaching mechanism, and a body portion couples to the primary bag at two or more of the coupling elements depending on the form that the carrier is to be used.

Abstract: A protective carrying bag for a computer includes opposing front and back walls. An opening in the front wall provides access by a user for viewing a screen on the computer when the computer is contained within the bag. Opposing openable first and second side walls as well as a lower wall extend between the front and back walls. An openable upper flap is positioned between the front and back walls. A carrying strap is included which is capable of being secured in a first arrangement for carrying the bag in a substantially vertical orientation and in a second arrangement for carrying the bag in a substantially horizontal orientation such that the computer can be operated through the opening in the front wall while being carried in the substantially horizontal orientation.

Abstract: A multiple use pack is designed for convenience, security and optimal use of space and structures which can be sued as a waist pack, a day backpack or a shoulder bag. A back face of the waist pack slides by means of a long belt loop on a removable, adjustable belt with quick release buckles allowing the waist pack to serve as a fanny pack/belly pack. The waist pack converts into a day backpack by opening a zippered main compartment posterior to the waist pack's main storage compartment. The zipper is stopped by a strip of fabric located in the middle bottom of the waist pack's main storage compartment connected to the middle bottom of the back face of the waist pack. The connecting fabric strip becomes a combined zipper stop and weight-bearing hinge which keeps the zipper slider from being pulled apart by the weight of items stored in the pack when used in the day backpack mode.

Abstract: In one aspect, the present invention provides a travel garment bag having a cover with an opening through which items to be carried within the bag may be inserted; a wire box inflexible frame enclosed within and supporting the cover; and a hanging strap attached to the inflexible frame and capable of extending through a second opening in a top wall of the cover. The hanging strap includes a strap having a hook and ring attached to opposite ends thereof. In order to hang the garment bag on a horizontal rod, such as a closet rod, the strap is wrapped around the rod and the hook is hooked on the ring.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a belt pack for use by law enforcement officials or civilians for handgun concealment and torso protection. The belt pack includes an upper compartment and a lower compartment. The compartments are foldably connected at one end and attached by VELCRO or a similar securing method at another end. Inserts composed of KEVLAR or other bullet-resistant material are contained within interior sections of both compartments. The upper compartment further includes a metal trauma plate to protect the chest of the wearer. When opened, the belt pack reveals a handgun holster attached to the lower compartment and areas along the upper compartment for identification, such as police badges. A neck strap coupled to upper compartment allows the belt pack to serve as a bullet-resistant vest for the wearer.

Abstract: An infant carrier comprising a fabric support for the lower portion of a child. The support has an interior component and an exterior component. The support has a closed lower end with leg holes and an open upper end. The support further has vertical openings along the lateral side thereof extending between the upper edges of the leg holes and the open upper end with associated separable fasteners to selectively open and close the vertical openings. A pair of laterally disposed fasteners are provided on the exterior component of the carrier. Each fastener extends from a lower position adjacent to an upper edge of an associated leg hole to a location at the upper opening. A pair of shoulder straps have exterior ends and interior ends secured to the rear face of the support.

Abstract: A carrier (10) for transporting a snowboard (100) is described. The carrier includes a panel (12) on which are mounted top and bottom securing straps (24 and 26) which are securing through top and bottom securing buckles (30 and 32), on the opposite side of the panel. The snowboard is mounted adjacent the inner surface (12F) of the panel such that the sides (12C and 12D) of the panel are adjacent the sides (100C) of the board. A first carrying strap (34) is mounted at the top (12A) of the panel on the right side (12C) and a second carrying strap is mounted at the bottom (12B) of the panel on the left side (12D). The second ends (24B and 26B) of the first and second carrying straps are connected together to form a complete strap. To use, the user (102) inserts an arm (104) and head (106) through the complete strap such that the complete strap extends across the torso (108) of the user and the panel is adjacent the back (110) of the user.

Abstract: A firearm carrier for safely transporting firearms. The carrier transversely secures the firearm to a user's body while preventing accidental discharges of the firearm. The firearm carrier is particularly well suited for use on an ATV. The firearm carrier safely, temporarily attaches the firearm to the user's waist in a safe, stable transport configuration. The firearm carrier may also be used as a temporary shoulder sling. The firearm carrier comprises an elongated, adjustable belt that fits around the waist of the user. A quick release buckle system facilitates belt removal. A pair of spaced apart straps project downwardly from the belt. Preferably, the straps project downwardly along the front of the user's legs. Each strap extends to a terminal end. An intermediary leg projects from each strap. Preferably, the straps are appropriately covered by a hook and pile fasteners. The straps encircle the gun during deployment, forming a pair of retention loops that secure the gun to the user's waist.

Abstract: A device and method for carrying skates of different sizes comprising an elongate strap with a coupling means for securement of said first end to said second end, a receptacle including a bearing member for supporting any skate chosen from a range of different sizes in said receptacle, a first wall and a second wall for cooperatively maintaining said skate on said bearing member, and means for adjustably coupling said first wall to said second wall to secure said skate in said receptacle, and a retainer on said receptacle for suspending said receptacle on said strap.

Abstract: A retractable carrying device that effectively positions an object snugly against a user's body allowing the user to carry the object from their shoulder for long periods of time without stress and irritation. The retractable carrying device maintains tension on receiving means thereby preventing undesirable noise, and also automatically and tensionally adjusts when the retractable carrying device is utilized as a stabilizing aid. The retractable carrying device is constructed with a first elongated flexible securing means, a second elongated flexible securing means, and a retractable mechanism, the retractable mechanism being enveloped by shielding means. The retractable mechanism has elastic properties and is of the type that can be stretched or extended when an opposing directional force is applied to the retractable mechanism, thereby increasing the effective length of the retractable mechanism, and which will then return or retract to its original length when the opposing directional force is released.

Abstract: An adjustable length carrying strap that can be automatically adjusted, with little user manipulation, to tighten around an object to be carried. By utilizing two free-sliding connectors on each end of the carrying strap, the device easily and automatically tightens around the object to be carried when the object is lifted by the strap and easily and automatically loosens up when the user puts the object and strap down. This leaves the hands of the user free to perform other tasks. Although not required, an adjuster is provided to enable the length of the strap to be lengthened or shortened depending on the desires of the user. Further, the user may also quickly and easily release the object by uncoupling the two free-sliding connectors on either or both ends of the strap, thereby opening securing loops and releasing the carried object(s).

Abstract: A convertible backpack having an anchoring loop centrally disposed near the top of the backpack on a back panel. A single shoulder strap connected to the backpack at both ends and passing slidably through the anchoring loop at its middle dividing the shoulder strap into a left portion and a right portion. Accordingly, the backpack can be easily converted from double shoulder wear, to single shoulder wear, to across the chest wear.

Abstract: A baby carrier apparatus includes a shoulder harness assembly which includes a first shoulder strap and a second shoulder strap, each of which has a front portion and a back portion. The front and back portions of the first and second shoulder straps are attached to a circumferential binder. Rings are attached to the first and second shoulder straps. A seat assembly has a baby-bottom-receiving portion and a baby-back-receiving portion. The baby-bottom-receiving portion includes front restraint-strap receiving loops, and the baby-back-receiving portion includes back restraint-strap receiving loops. A weight-support strap assembly is attached to a bottom portion of the baby-bottom-receiving portion of the seat assembly. The weight-support strap assembly includes an adjustable length portion. The weight-support strap assembly includes end connectors for selectively connecting to tings either attached to the first shoulder strap or attached to the second shoulder strap.
