Handgun Holder Formed Of Leather, Fabric, Or Other Flexible Material Patents (Class 224/911)
  • Patent number: 5215238
Abstract: A holster formed of a fabric material suitable for weapon with a laser light having internal retention. The holster is formed from a piece of synthetic material which is folded on itself and secured to a barrel stop at the bottom to form a cavity for receiving the weapon. An elastic strap along the back opposite the fold line secures the weapon in the holster and urges the weapon towards retention elements secured to the inside of the fabric at the ejection port and trigger of the weapon.

  • Patent number: 5170919
Abstract: A hand gun in a holster is completely concealed by a simulated carrying pouch. A backing is mounted on a wearer, as with a belt around the wearer's waist. A holster is mounted on the backing completely within the area defined by the top, bottom and ends of the backing. A flap, permanently attached at the bottom to the backing but releasably attached by hook and pile fasteners (VELCRO.RTM.) at the top and two ends of the backing defines a textile material (fabric) or leather container which simulates a carrying pouch and completely conceals the holster and hand gun. Pockets may be provided in the flap. The holster is reversibly mounted on the backing using hook and pile fasteners, and hook and pile fastener straps releasably hold the hand gun within the holster. • Patent number: 5150825
Abstract: A holster of soft material has a retention device for applying pressure to a handgun in the holster to resist inadvertent removal of the handgun. An elongate band or strip of resilient material is formed into a loop around the outside of the holster by folding the band about a central region extending over a fold in the holster and securing opposite ends of the band together through the holster to urge the opposite side portions of the band towards one another. The opposite side portions of the band compress corresponding underlying wall portions of the holster against a handgun in the holster pocket, providing a controlled resistance to draw which is preferably adjustable and also resisting inadvertent removal or slipping of the handgun out of the pocket.

  • Patent number: 5129562
Abstract: A holster for a handgun having a trigger guard is formed of material such as leather which is folded upon itself to make a pocket, with an opening at the top. The edges of the material are sewn together with a narrow strip of the material therebetween to increase the volume of the pocket. A pair of openings are located on opposite sides of the pocket adjacent the position of the trigger guard when the handgun is in the pocket. A latch member of low friction material having resilient arms and clamp members with inwardly extending projections is fastened in the holster such that the arms and clamp members extend through the openings. When the handgun is placed in the holster, the trigger guard pushes past the projections on the clamp members which then latch around the trigger guard securing the handgun in the holster.

  • Patent number: 5100036
Abstract: A restraining device in a holster has a rigid body portion and two upwardly extending oppositely facing wall members with a cavity in each and forming a channel receiving a handgun trigger guard, a pair of cam-shaped restraining members having two lobes and a pivot pin therebetween for movement on generally parallel axes within respective cavities. One lobe is spring biased to extend inwardly of channel when empty and pushed outwardly of channel when such guard is seated in channel; and the other lobe is retracted into its cavity when empty so trigger guard may pass between opposed lobes and extend inwardly of such guard when seated in channel. Forward handgun dislodgment is prevented and a vertical draw is needed when such pins are generally horizontal to overcome frictional handgun-holster contact to remove handgun above partially closed lower front. Restraining members, being caged within cavities, provide enhanced strength from handgun removal in the forward direction.

Abstract: An improved holster for a handgun, the holster generally of the type having a holster hanger adapted to interengage with, and be supported by, the user's waistband or belt. The improvement is generally directed to increasing the length and width of the slot between the holster body and hanger for receiving the skirt portion of a jacket, coat, shirt or the like. This feature enhances ready access to the handgun, while also reducing "bunching" of the skirt in otherwise shorter and narrower slots found in conventional holsters. Further benefits of this invention are related to providing a smooth, uninterrupted surface for both surfaces of the holster hanger and body, reducing clothing and handgun wear. These improvements result from a novel structure and arrangements for interconnecting the holster hanger to the inner side of the holster body itself.

  • Patent number: 4741465
Abstract: This invention relates to a special handgun holster that is capable of concealing a handgun on a person who is wearing only walking shorts and no shirt. Concealing the handgun is accomplished by enveloping the grip end of the handgun inside a pouch that appears to be a large truckers wallet protruding slightly from the pants pocket or walking shorts pocket and camouflaging the muzzle end of the handgun in the lower part of the front pants pocket or walking shorts pocket by adding a block of material to break up the outline of the handgun. In addition a metal bar is placed through the pouch to keep the handgun securely in the pants or walking shorts pocket and to position the pouch around the handgun grip.
