Abstract: A balancing weight dispenser has a balancing weight storage space for storing a belt of balancing weights on a reel, a belt guide, and a cutter at one end of and/or along a length of the belt guide. The cutter comprises a knife, which is fixedly attached to the balancing weight dispenser. For delivery of a required amount of balancing weight mass, the belt of balancing weights is pulled from the reel until the desired number of balancing weights has been obtained. In the next step, the belt of balancing weights is cut, preferably between two adjacent balancing weights, to separate the selected portion of balancing weights from the remaining belt of balancing weights. The remaining belt falls back to the guide and remains in a desired position for receiving the next portion of balancing weights. This manually operated balancing weight dispenser can be provided at significantly lower costs compared to the automated high performance balancing weight dispensers as known from the prior art.

The cutter bars can also rotate individually in their bearings (61), and are powered to do so by a cam action inside the drum. When the drum advances, the differential rotation of the cutter bars creates tension in a section of tape, thus tearing it into a segment (5). The length of the tape segment may be preselected by means of an adjustment disk (100).The object of the invention is to sequentially cut and then present each tape segment to a convenient dispensing position. When a user grasps and lifts the tape segment from the cutter bar, the gearmotor automatically restarts to cut and present a new tape segment.

Abstract: A tape dispenser of the type where the tape passes over the cutter that has the means to allow a tab to be formed on the end portion of the tape that will not accidentally bond back to the tape roll. The means comprises three different embodiments. First, a raisable lifting member, with a horizontal projection and an opening, is located between the tape roll and cutter and below the outstretched tape. Abstract: A tape dispenser with a tab forming device which includes a pair of upwardly extending forward and rearward struts joined at lower extremities within a cylindrical slotted spring which limits maximum separation of the struts. Upper extremities of the struts are terminated in two wings which, when brought together, cause a tape loop to be made, forming a tape tab. The rearward strut is adapted with a downwardly extending leg and foot for being secured within a tape roll holder, while the forwardly extending strut is adapted with an inverted hook over the wing at the upper extremity of the strut. The hook includes a forward serrated edge for tearing tape. The entire construction may be molded as a unitary article.

  • Patent number: 4372472
Abstract: A dispenser for tapes packaged in a roll and having an adhesive on one side thereof has a pair of spaced parallel sidewalls upstanding from the base and a mounting disk is rotatably positioned upon a shaft extending between the centers of the sidewalls. A roll of tape is mounted on the mounting disk. There is a cutter edge at an upper corner of the housing between the sidewalls and there is a rotatable roller positioned below and inwardly of the cutter edge but above a radius extending from the center shaft to the cutter edge. The roller has a helical thread thereon so as to provide a moving point contact for the adhesive surface of the tape moving thereover. As the adhesive side of the tape passes over the roller and below the cutter edge, the tape can be pulled out to a desired length and then cut along its non-adhesive surface by being moved upwardly against the cutter edge.

  • Patent number: 4346829
Abstract: A roll dispenser carbon for dispensing sheet material, e.g., food wrap type sheet material. A unique cutting edge structure on the carton permits tearing off a length of the sheet material after that length has been withdrawn from the roll inside the carton. In the case of certain type sheet materials, the cutting edge structure retains the remaining free edge of the sheet material on the cutting edge after the desired sheet length has been torn from the roll. The cutting edge structure is comprised of a series of punched buds, each bud having at least two petals, that are formed in a metal sheet by punching that sheet with a piercing punch.

  • Patent number: 4262835
Abstract: A multiple tape dispenser for wire marker tape consisting of a plurality of identical tape dispensers secured together coaxially. Each tape dispenser is generally cylindrical and has an arcuate hinged door which in its closed position forms part of the circumferential edge wall of the housing. Tape wound on a core in the housing has its free end folded back over an arcuate area beneath the free end of the arcuate door with the adhesive side of the tape adhering to the underside of the door such that when the door is opened the tape peels from the back side of the door and stands up for easy access by the user.

  • Patent number: 3974947
Abstract: An improved foldably erected dispensing carton particularly for household wrapping materials such as polymeric film, wax paper, metal foil, and the like, wherein the carton embodies a double ply panel having a pressure sensitive adhesive layer interposed between and securing such plies. An aperture is die-cut or otherwise formed in the outer ply to expose a select area of the adhesive, and thereby present a recessed tack spot to which the leading end of the roll can be lightly adhered, and thus prevented from withdrawing into the carton. The double ply panel structure also makes available a folded edge about which the roll material can be dispensed with minimum chance of snagging or binding due to the smooth quality of such edge.
