    Abstract: The invention concerns a double roller guide for rolling mills, consisting of at least two guide rollers positioned in series in the direction of rolling and mounted on associated roller carriers positioned so that they can pivot and be adjusted according to the position of the guide rollers. In order to make it possible to position the guide rollers in the same direction and in parallel, the roller carriers are two-armed pivoted levers at the one end of which the guide roller is mounted and the other end of which is supported on an adjustable stop, whereby the transmission ratios of both roller carriers are equal and the end of one roller carrier is supported on the other roller carrier at a distance from its pivoting axis.

    Abstract: An apparatus is provided for guiding a corrugated cardboard sheet in a transfer portion and machining portion of a corrugated cardboard sheet box-making machine. Eccentric bearing boxes are provided for supporting feed rolls which define a path of travel for the corrugated cardboard sheet. The eccentric bearing boxes are rotatable to adjust the position of the rolls vertically depending on the thickness of the sheet then being run through the machine. The apparatus further includes sheet guide means for guiding the corrugated cardboard sheet to the feed rolls. The sheet guide means includes guide plates supported on brackets which in turn are supported on portions of the eccentric bearing boxes. Adjustment of the position of the eccentric bearing boxes for moving the feed rolls simultaneously effects corresponding adjustment of the position of the guide plates so that a constant difference in level between the guide plates and the upper periphery of the feed rolls is maintained.

    Abstract: An arrangement for developing or fixing film has a container for accommodating a developing or fixing solution. A pair of spaced strips or sheets extend across the container. The surfaces of the strips or sheets which face one another are provided with a series of aligned slots. The slots are designed to receive roller racks for transporting film through the developing of fixing solution. The spacing and arrangement of the slots are such that several racks having the same width, or several racks having different widths, may be arranged side-by-side in the container. Each rack has a main gear which drives all of the rolls of the respective rack. The main gears of adjacent racks are coupled to one another while the main gear of one of the racks is further connected to a drive located outside of the container. This drive thus actuates all of the racks in the container. The racks have alignment rods for aligning the racks relative to one another and to the container.

    Abstract: A photoprocessor for photosensitive webs includes a plurality of tanks containing photoprocessing solution and a dryer. The web is transported through the tank by a plurality of opposed spaced pairs of oppositely oriented driven tapered rollers. The transport speed of the web through the tank is determined by a pair of opposed cylindrical rollers at the exit of the last tank. The cylindrical rollers are driven at a tangential velocity which is approximately equal to the tangential velocity at the centers of the tapered rollers. A loader at the inlet end of the processor includes driven and idler rollers which are normally out of engagement and which are brought into engagement to drive the web into the processor for a selected time period when the web is first sensed at the inlet end of the processor.

    Abstract: A processing apparatus such as may be used for photographic film in which the films passed through several different processing sections in succession with the tension of the film web maintained constant at all times. Pairs of rollers are arranged at short intervals in succession through the various processing sections. The speed of conveyance of the web is increased in succession by driving the rollers at different speed or providing rollers of increasing diameter in the direction of the process outlet. One roller of each pair of rollers is provided with a stepped section having a height approximating the thickness of the web being conveyed. With this construction, a meandering correcting force is exerted on the web which overcomes the frictional force between the web and rollers thereby correcting any meandering of the web and maintaining the tension applied to the web at a value less than the strength of the web.

    Abstract: This invention provides a U-shaped pathway for cut film and prints as the cut sheets are automatically moved in a prescribed manner, path and speed through a processing tank or tanks. This transport is between rollers which are spaced from each other sufficiently so that any potential squeezing or pressing on the emulsion surface of the film is safely absent. Large rollers are arranged in three vertical columns and provide the down and up travel path of the film. At the bottom of this transport path a large roller provides an inside guide for the film. A series of small rollers provide an outer guide path for the U-shaped transport section of film. These small rollers are driven as are all the other rollers but this outer U-guide is formed of short rollers arranged in an intermeshed pattern to provide a closely guided contour. Short small rollers are carried in spaced array on common shafts.
