The outer packaging is made of a composite material that includes cardboard and at least one coating or film, and is designed and intended to form the second sterile barrier of the sterile packaging.

Abstract: Apparatus for forming product containing pouches from a travelling web of adhered films includes a film support surface, including a plurality of mold configurations, and a film retention chamber in the film support surface preceding and trailing each of the mold configurations. A vacuum system applies vacuum to the mold configurations and film retention chambers to form product containing pockets and to secure the film in the film retention chambers. Separation blades in synchronous register with the mold configurations separate the pouches from the travelling web. In one form the film support surface comprises a rotary forming drum and a rotary blade drum includes the separation blades.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to provide a package which enables repeated opening and sealing of an opening, and can be favorably closed by bringing a pair of resin adhesive parts into contact with each other while preventing sticking of materials to each resin adhesive part. A package of the present disclosure comprises a main body having an internal space and an opening in communication between the internal space and an outside; and a pair of, i.e., two, resin adhesive parts which are disposed so as to be capable of being brought into contact with each other for sealing the opening. Here, the 90-degree peel force between the pair of resin adhesive parts is 0.02 N or more, the coefficient of dynamic friction of each of the two resin adhesive parts is 1.50 or less, and the tack force of each of the two resin adhesive parts is 1.60 N or less.

Abstract: A woven laminated plastic bag having features that prevent leakage of contents out of the bag, or infestation of organisms into the contents of the bag is provided. The bag can provide a top end and a bottom end that provide a discrete area that may contain discrete graphics or printing. The bag can also include an easy open feature that can be easily opened with less force than a sealed closure of the bag. The easy open feature may be oriented in various directions with respect to the bag.

Abstract: Methods of making a woven laminated plastic bag having an easy open feature are provided. The easy open feature is generally defined by a weakened portion in the bag, such as formed by cutting, punching, or using a laser to provide a plurality of cuts and/or perforations in the bag. In various aspects the bag can be fabricated from a woven polypropylene and/or polyethylene layer, which can be laminated with a film layer, can form a pinch bottom bag, and can have one or both sides include graphics and/or printing. The bag can also be sealed to be sealed to provide a top end and/or a bottom end either or both of which provide a discrete area which may contain discrete graphics and/or printing.

Abstract: The present teachings disclose s a process for forming paper domes including: indexing two or more sheets of cut material intended to form a dome when pressed where at least one of the sheets has a cured or dried glue already adhered thereto, applying a glue activator solvent such as water on an exterior top or exterior bottom surface of at least one of the sheets, pressing the sheets together with heat and pressure to form a completed combined sheet with multiple domes, and moving the completed combined sheet.

Abstract: A blank of sheet material is provided for forming a container convertible from a shipping configuration to a display configuration. The blank includes a glue panel, a front panel, a top panel, a rear panel, and a bottom panel coupled together in series by a plurality of generally parallel fold lines. The glue panel includes an opening mechanism and is configured to couple in face-to-face relationship to the bottom panel when the container is formed. The blank also includes a pair of top side panels extending from opposing side edges of the top panel, and a pair of bottom side panels extending from opposing side edges of the bottom panel. Abstract: Containers are described that allow a consumer to see inside the container and to more easily access the products. One form of the container includes a base member with a lid defining a window. A flexible laminate with a peelable flap portion is attached to the lid to provide access to the products inside. The flexible laminate includes a first film layer laminated to a second film layer. The first film layer includes a first cut line defining a peelable flap portion and the second film layer includes a second cut line offset from the first cut line that defines an opening into the container. First and second reclose surfaces defined between the cut lines on the corresponding film layers include pressure-sensitive adhesive to allow the container to be re-sealed via movement of the peelable flap portion back into engagement with the flexible laminate remaining with the container.

Abstract: A container apparatus including a container and a sleeve with pre-weakened areas to facilitate detaching the sleeve from the container. The container may include a body and a cap coupled thereto. The sleeve may include tamper evident features and may maintain the container in a closed and packaged state prior to purchase and use by a consumer. The sleeve may include different pre-weakened or perforated sections to permit the consumer to remove a first portion of the sleeve to permit the user to open the container and use the product therein without also removing a second portion of the sleeve which may contain product information. The sleeve may then include an additional pre-weakened or perforated section to permit the consumer to remove the second portion of the sleeve after the container is empty for sustainability purposes so that the container is more readily recyclable.

The package also has top and bottom edges and opposed side edges. The cavity has a first height extending in a direction between the top and bottom edges. The front and rear panels are configured to tear adjacent to one of the side edges in the direction between the top and bottom edges to form an opening in communication with the cavity wherein the opening has a second height in the direction between the top and bottom edges that is smaller than the first height of the cavity. A urinary catheter in a compact configuration is disposed within the cavity.

Abstract: Disclosed are a polyalkylene carbonate and polyolefin-based adhesive member and an adhesive structure including the same and, more particularly, an adhesive member manufactured using a mixed composition including polyalkylene carbonate, polyolefin, an initiator, and a blending aid, wherein an amount of the polyalkylene carbonate is 35 wt % to 65 wt %, a total amount of the initiator, the blending aid, and the polyolefin is 35 wt % to 65 wt %, and the adhesive member has a co-continuous morphology in which at least a portion of each of the polyalkylene carbonate and the polyolefin is exposed on an outer surface of the adhesive member and an adhesive structure including the same.

No gap and step are generated on the corner.

Abstract: Provided are a packing tape, and a method of forming the same, the packing tape including a flexible member having a first surface and a second surface defining a body therebetween having a thickness, a width and a length. The packing tape further includes a tear-away member defined by a first row and a second row of a plurality of perforated members which are parallel to each other and centrally located along the width of the flexible member. The packing tape also includes an adhesive on the second surface of the flexible member.

Abstract: A shipping and display container convertible into a display configuration comprises a plurality of primary packages contained therein. The container comprises a bottom wall having one score line formed therein. Two side walls wherein each of which is foldably joined from the bottom wall. One of the side walls includes a pair of diagonal corner walls each of which foldably extend from lateral edge thereof The diagonal corner walls are configured to prevent the plurality of primary packages from tipping forward when the container is in the display position. A top wall is foldably joined from one of the side wall. Two opposed end walls each of which is formed from a plurality of flaps foldably extend from the bottom, side, and top walls in an overlapped relationship with one another. A perforated section is defined by two perforated lines of weakness wherein upon removal of the perforated section and folding container along the score line, the shipping and display container is converted into two display trays.

Abstract: A container preassembly which has an inner sleeve in a flat unopened position disposed within an outer sleeve in a flat unopened position. The two sleeves are adapted to form the two ends of the container and are secured together in the aligned relationship of the final open container, thereby allowing the preassembly to be opened into the form of the final container without requiring further adjustment. Once opened, the flaps for forming the container bottom are folded to create a container ready for use. A method of making the container preassembly is also provided.

Abstract: A tamper-evident dispensing spout is configured for use on single-serve cartons, such as paper-based gable-topped cartons. The spout structure includes a spout body having a generally cylindrical wall portion, and a mounting flange extending outwardly from one end of the wall portion. The spout body defines a dispensing opening generally opposite the flange portion, with an opening member hingedly mounted on the spout body for movement from a first, sealed position, to a second, opened position for consumption of the container's contents. The opening member preferably includes a locking element so that the opening member is conveniently retained in its opened position during use.

Abstract: The present application thus provides a tray for use with a number of products. The tray may include a base and a lid enclosing the base. The base may include a first wall and a second wall. The lid may include a first lid tab and a second lid tab such that the first lid tab of the lid is attached to an exterior of the first wall of the base and the second lid tab of the lid is attached to the exterior of the second wall of the base.

Abstract: Heat-sealable seal including a support bonded to an inner seal by a temporary adhesive is provided. The inner seal has a pull-tab which is folded back once on the surface of the inner seal in contact with the corresponding surface of the support. The inner seal includes a laminate having a reinforcing layer and a sheet of a conducting material, to the lower surface of which is applied a heat-sealing film. The temporary adhesive is applied to the whole surface of the inner seal once the pull-tab is folded back. The seal is characterized in that the laminate has over its entire thickness a notch from which the pull-tab emerges, and a fold line formed by the pull-tab once the pull-tab is folded back, the fold line having a shorter length than the length of the notch. Methods of producing the seal are also disclosed.

Abstract: The invention relates to a cup package made of a fiber-based material, such as polymer-coated packaging board, comprising a cup (1) containing a packaged product (2) and a lid (6) closing the mouth of the cup. In accordance with the invention, the cup (1) has a collar (5) bent downwardly from the mouth of the cup and diverging from the cup skirt (3), and the lid (6) has a rim (8) oriented accordingly downwardly from the collar, the lid being fixed in position by heat-sealing between said collar and rim parts. For opening the package, the lid (6) can be equipped with a tear strip (11) surrounding its rim (8). In addition, the lid (6) may be nested with the cup (1), so that compression and friction between their opposite surfaces retain the lid in position in the reclosed package.

A pull-off opening device is housed in the frame and has a rigid plane integral with the removable portion and extractable from the frame, by pulling action, together with part of the removable portion. A pull tab of sheet material is interposed between the removable portion and the plate and attached to both.

Abstract: A mold 10, 30, 40 particularly for use in food preparation comprising a base 11, and a collar 12 having a continuous wall 14 that upstands from the base with a lower edge 16 of the collar abutting the base 11. The mold may be for single use with the base and the collar being formed from fiberboard and in a particular form the collar wall incorporates a releasable connection to enable opening of the collar. In one form, the collar includes tabs 25 that extend from the lower edge 16 and retaining means (18, 19, 31) which are operative to retain the tabs in relation to the base so as to retain the lower edge 16 of the collar in proximity with the base. The mold further includes in one form an insert 19 which is locatable within the mold cavity 17 and in another form a support arrangement (29, 42, 43) is provided to support the collar wall.

The first blank can include a tear strip adjacent the dispensing flap pattern, with the tear strip generally not receiving adhesive. Optionally, the first blank can include a sift pocket formation, to which generally adhesive is not applied. The tear string can be positioned between the sift pocket formation and the dispensing flap pattern.

The base material is permanently attached to the package body and formed with a die cut line surrounding the opening in the package body and defines a movable blank. The base material has a back surface provided with a permanent adhesive provided with a deadened area covering the blank and extending beyond the die cut lie. The resealable label flap is positioned on the base material to cover the opening in the packaged body and the die cut line. The resealable flap has a back surface provided with a resealable adhesive that permits repeated application and removal of the label flap relative to the base material.

Abstract: A packaging article including a flap for opening and reclosing the packaging article. The packaging article comprises a flexible packaging material and a label. The flexible packaging material includes the flap and a plurality of slits defining at least a portion of a boundary of the flap. The plurality of slits are substantially parallel to and spaced from one another and have a length dimension. When applying to the flap a tearing force directed substantially perpendicularly to the length dimensions of the plurality of slits, the flap can be opened by the tearing force tearing the flexible packaging material between the plurality of slits. A first portion of the label is affixed to a portion of the flap. A second portion of the label is adapted to be repeatedly removably adhered to a portion of the flexible packaging material adjacent the flap such that the flap can be opened and reclosed. The packaging article may be a ream wrapper.

Abstract: A tamper evident container lid is provided that includes a lid body configured to cover the opening of a base container having a top rim. The lid body has a skirt extending therefrom. The skirt has an annular score line and an annular fold line extending therearound. An outer band of the skirt extends between the score line and the fold line, and an inner band is folded inwardly to be in opposing relation to the outer band and extends upwardly from the fold line to an upper free edge. When the container lid is sufficiently applied to the base container such that the free edge slides downwardly past a top rim of the container, achieving a proper closure, an attempt to remove the lid will cause a plurality of sections of the inner band to engage the top rim and impede removal of the lid from the base container.

A rolled bead is formed at a top end of the container and a membrane closure is bonded to the bead by a first heat seal material on the bead and a second heat seal material on the membrane. The heat seal materials preferably comprise ethylene acid copolymer such as methacrylic acid or acrylic acid, partially neutralized with zinc or sodium ions. A primer layer is disposed between the heat seal material on the bead and the polymer barrier layer of the container. The primer provides a high z-direction bond strength but is designed to fail in a shear tearing mode when peeling the membrane from the bead, such that the heat seal material on the bead is detached from the bead and remains attached to the membrane. The primer prevents tearing of the polymer barrier layer of the container.

Abstract: The present bag-in-a-box package is of a three unit structure, having a top unit, a body unit and a bottom unit. The box has a pair of handles for ease in handling the box and a tear strip structure for opening the box. In a preferred mode the tear strip has a grip that is adjacent one of the handle apertures. The tear strip can be of any known structure such as a series of perforations or serrations, or a separate film, string or filament applied to the top panel. This makes the tear strip easier to grip and the box easier to open. The bag part of the structure will preserve the freshness of the contained product while the box will provide structural integrity and a means for easily handling the box.

The base layer includes a tear resistant backing having a first side and a second side, and an adhesive coated on at least part of the first side of the backing. The tearable tape strip is located on the first side of the backing and has a first side and a second side. The tearable tape strip permits tearing of itself and the tear resistant backing with a given force notwithstanding that the tear resistant backing is otherwise not cleanly tearable. The tearable tape strip tears through the base layer when the tape is removed from the container. The tape can include a tab at one of the ends of the tape. The tab is formed by nicks extending from at least one of the ends of the tape and is located at least partially through the tearable tape strip which facilitate beginning tears.
