Extends Along Envelope Side Edge Patents (Class 229/312)
  • Publication number: 20080164303
Abstract: The Open Easy Envelope is a very easy to use system. The Open Easy Envelope has a difference between the other inventions invented because it can be used on any type of Envelope, added just a new string feature to the envelope creating machine. A nylon string is attached about 0.5 mm higher then the fold line with a thin layer of glue. On each comer of the envelope are very small knots very close to the edge. As the String is pulled it opens the envelope easily or the string can be without a knot extending out of the envelope just a little bit. Also there will be a dotted line on the flap just about 2 mm below the fold horizontally. As the dotted lines are ripped just a little the string is left in the hands. The reason the string is put 0.5 mm higher then the fold line is because when the envelope is folded the string does not get in the way. The same processes can be used on the bottom and right sides of the envelope.

  • Patent number: 6457638
Abstract: An envelope pull opener includes a pair of pull tabs and a tearing filament. A single pull tab is attached to each end of the tearing filament. A peel-off adhesive surface is applied to one side of the pull tab. Preferably, the other side of the pull tab is structured to have a logo, picture, or other graphical representation applied thereto. The pull tab is preferably round, but could be any other shape such as square or triangular. In a second embodiment, the pull tab opener has a single pull tab on each end and an anchor tab attached in substantially the middle of the tearing filament. A third embodiment includes, a rigid envelope pull opener includes a first arm, a second arm, a pivotal connector, and a pair of pull tabs. A single pull tab is attached to an end of each arm. The other end of each arm is pivotal constrained by the pivotal connector.

  • Patent number: 6012575
Abstract: The compact disk carrying case includes, in one embodiment, an outer enclosure which is defined by two clam-shell members. Each clam-shell member has an interfacing edge which mates with the corresponding interfacing edge on the other clam-shell member. A mechanism is provided, such as a zipper, for closing the interfacing edges thereby forming a closeable outer enclosure within which is captured a plurality of compact disks. The clam-shell members are hinged together along a portion of each respective interfacing edge. The carrying case includes a plurality of compact disk carrying plates which are grouped together into n end pairs of plates by n hinges. Each hinge has a progressively increasing span distance between the respective connected plates. Accordingly, these hinges establish minimum, a plurality of intermediate and a maximum span distance between the respective connected plates.

  • Patent number: 5961436
Abstract: An envelope formed from a single sheet of paper includes a front portion, a top flap, two lateral side flaps, a bottom flap, a top folding edge, two lateral side folding edges, and a bottom folding edge, the lateral side flaps overlapping and adhering to the bottom flap to form the back portion of the envelope. The top flap will adhere to the back portion after contents of interest are inserted into the envelope. The envelope further includes an opening device in the form of a piece of thin line disposed inside the envelope. The thin line loosely extends along one of the folding edges with its first end attached to one spot near one end of that folding edge and its opposite second end attached to an anchor portion on the outermost flap near the other end of that folding edge. The anchor portion does not adhere to any other flap.

  • Patent number: 5752652
Abstract: An envelope blank, die cut from a sheet of flat paper stock, has a quadrilateral panel, a sealing flap, side flaps and a closure flap, with one of the side flaps having a slot formed therein to define a surmounting tab. A length of string is adhered to a fold obtaining between the panel and one of the side flaps, and lengthwise of the fold, and has a terminal end of the string adhered to the tab. With the tab externalized, the blank-formed envelope can be quickly and efficiently opened by pulling the tab away, and drawing the confined string out of the fold, whereby an end of the envelope is opened.
