Abstract: A substantially flexible, shape-sustaining article, such as a flower pot cover, is disclosed wherein the article has a paper-like appearance. The article can be made by forming a flexible, substantially non-shape sustaining polymeric material or a laminated material wherein at least one surface of the material is modified to provide the material with a paper-like texture or appearance. The substantially flexible, shape-sustaining article, which has an appearance of being made of paper, includes a base having a closed lower end, an open upper end with an object opening extending therethrough and a decorative border extending outwardly from the open upper end of the base. The base of the article has a plurality of overlapping folds of which at least a portion are permanently connected so that the article may be substantially flattened and then unflattened to assume the original shape of the article.

Abstract: A substantially flexible, shape-sustaining article having an appearance simulating paper made by forming a flexible, laminated material having a paper-like texture or appearance into a substantially flexible article for receiving an object. The substantially flexible article includes a base having a lower end, an open upper end with an object opening extending therethrough and a decorative border extending outwardly from the open upper end of the base. The lower end of the base of the article may be closed and may also contain a gusset.

Abstract: This invention provides an improved food package, and method for producing the food package, which combines an individual food container with a wrap. The food package makes the process of wrapping a food, such as a hamburger, more efficient and makes the food easier to eat. The food package may be a bag or a carton of any composition suitable for the purpose of holding a food item. The food container is attached to a wrap that has a length and width significantly larger than the dimensions of the food container. The method for producing the food package includes unwrapping and cutting of a wrap material on the same vacuum belt assembly as an adhesive application and a hopper feeder.

Abstract: A sheet of flexible material. The sheet has a periphery in a rectangular configuration with four edges and four corners sized to conform to any of a plurality of boxes having a variety of shapes and sizes. Each sheet also has a back surface without any printing thereon and a front surface with or without decorative printing thereon. A pressure sensitive adhesive providing for removal and repositioning of the sheet is located on the back surface along the four side edges but terminates in proximity to the four corners. The adhesive forms an essentially rectangular adhesive frame having a periphery essentially co-extensive with the periphery of the sheet and a hollow interior and corners to facilitate handling. The adhesive may adhere to the front surface when wrapping a box or other item.

Abstract: The present invention relates to pre-cut wrapping paper having peel-and-stick adhesive strips, which wrapping paper can be sized and cut to foldably wrap a variety of packages while limiting waste wrap. The paper can be used to cover and prepare boxed and unboxed items for presentation. The peel-and-stick adhesive strips secure the sheet to the gift, thus removing the need for a roll of tape.

Abstract: A flexible sleeve disposable about at least a portion of a flower pot or floral grouping is disclosed wherein the flexible sleeve is formed of a flexible, expanded core polymeric material in which at least one surface of the material has been textured or modified so that the material is provided with a cloth-like appearance. The flexible sleeve having a cloth-like appearance may also be provided with perforations at preselected areas. A method for making the perforations in the sleeve in preselected areas further comprises both vertical perforations and circumferential perforations.

Abstract: A method of preparing a carton with a prefolded interior paper lining includes feeding carton blanks having a surface, the surface having leading and trailing edges and right and left side edges, feeding a paper web, folding the paper web to have a base portion having an edge and at least a first flap joining the base portion at a first crease, cutting a section off the paper web, and inserting the paper section with the carton blank surface, such that the edge and crease of the base portion of the paper are spaced a predetermined distance inward from each respective carton blank side edge.

Abstract: A gift bag device for containing and wrapping gifts. The gift bag device includes a bottom wall panel. A perimeter wall panel has a first edge and a second edge. The first and second edges are opposite edges. The first edge of the perimeter wall panel is fixedly coupled to a peripheral edge of the bottom wall panel. A cinching means closes an opening formed by the second edge of the perimeter wall panel.

Abstract: The present invention provides a new and useful gift packaging system, method and kit that includes an assortment of gifts and a decorative container and packing materials in which to present the gifts. The gift packaging system is pre-packaged together in a collapsed configuration that can be assembled into a constructed configuration. A container is provided of generally rigid material that is collapsible and constructable. When in the collapsed position, the container forms a generally rectangular, planer configuration. Further, packing material is provided in a partially overlying position with respect to the container. Gifts are also provided in a partially overlying position with respect to the container and the packing material. When in a collapsed configuration, a wrapping substantially encloses the packing material and gifts. The gift packaging kit can be constructed from the collapsed configuration upon removal of the wrapping.

Abstract: A preformed gift wrap for quickly and easily wrapping a gift box. The preformed gift wrap includes a generally rectangular sheet having a pair of spaced apart lateral fold lines extending between the sides of the sheet which divide the sheet into three generally rectangular panels. Extending from each side of the middle second panel is a generally trapezoidal middle flap. Each of the middle flaps is foldable along a line extending along the associated side of the sheet. Extending from each side of the outer first and third panels is a side flap. Each of the side flaps is foldable along a line extending along the associated side of the sheet. Each of the sides of the sheet also has two corner flaps extending therefrom such that a first pair of corner flaps are positioned adjacent the first panel and a second pair of corner flaps are positioned adjacent the third panel.
