Selective Diverse Paths To Or Through Terminus Patents (Class 239/477)
  • Patent number: 7416607
Abstract: A fluid injection apparatus for discharging a fluid against a surface in a controlled manner is disclosed. The fluid injection apparatus includes at least one fluid supply conduit, at least one rotatable and vertically-movable fluid injector provided in fluid communication with the fluid supply conduit and at least one fluid conduit provided in the fluid injector. By selective vertical movement of the fluid injector, each fluid conduit in the fluid injector can be selectively blocked from or provided in fluid communication with the fluid supply conduit to impart a desired flow configuration of a processing fluid against the surface. By selective rotational movement of the fluid injector, a rotational or swirling motion can be imparted to the fluid as it contacts the surface.

  • Patent number: 7175109
Abstract: A double-swirl spray nozzle includes two swirl chambers which are connected to a common supply channel which extends in a central plane between the swirl chambers. Both swirl chambers have outlet openings which open outwardly from the supply channel to the same side. The axes of the swirl chambers are furthermore inclined at an angle with respect to one another. Thus with one single compact spray nozzle it is possible to create atomizing cones with a very large impact area which mutually overlap on the side facing one another and in spite of the speed component unidirected in the overlapping area result in a secondary division of the liquid droplets in the two atomizing cones, which increases the efficiency when the nozzle is utilized in so-called gas washers for cleaning purposes.

  • Patent number: 7017833
Abstract: An indexing nozzle assembly for a trigger sprayer has a manually rotatable cap mounted for rotation on a liquid spinner of the nozzle assembly. Rotation of a cap changes the nozzle assembly between an off condition, a spray condition, a second off condition, and a stream condition of the liquid discharged from the nozzle assembly. The cap can be rotated from the off position directly to either of the spray or stream positions by rotating the cap one-quarter turn in opposite directions. A spatial relationship between an end surface of the liquid spinner and an interior surface of the cap end wall that surrounds the assembly discharge orifice improves the stream configuration of liquid discharged by the nozzle assembly.

  • Patent number: 5368234
Abstract: A nozzle assembly for a trigger sprayer having a cap rotatable relative to a housing to establish the spray character of the fluid discharged and a slot and cam follower connection between the trigger sprayer housing and the cap with the cam shaped to impart an "off" condition, a gradually increasing spray condition, a combination spray and stream condition of gradually reversed relative influence, and a stream only condition. The different flow conditions are established by the interrelationship between a spinner head section and the cap that is rotatable along a path controlled by the cam and cam follower.

  • Patent number: 4796815
Abstract: A variable-spray shower head comprises an internal chamber formed with a circular cavity and a discharge nozzle centrally of the circular cavity. The shower head further includes a plurality of flow passageways from its inlet to the circular cavity along different paths with respect to the tangent to the circular cavity; and a manual selector for selectively directing the water to flow from the inlet to the circular cavity via a selected one of the flow passageways to produce a different spray pattern according to the passageway or passageways selected.

  • Patent number: 4681260
Abstract: A variable stator for use in a sprinkler head has a two piece stator housing which includes flexible inner sidewalls overlying spaced apertures in an outer sidewall. The stator housing includes a plurality of drive ports which pass a controlled portion of the fluid flow against an impeller that is part of the drive mechanism for rotating the nozzle of the sprinkler head. The inner sidewalls flex inwardly as a function of fluid flow around the stator relative to the controlled fluid flow to the impeller to selectively open the apertures to keep the rate of rotation of the sprinkler nozzle relatively constant. By locating the impeller within the stator, upstream of the remaining fluid flow around the stator and through the spaced apertures, wear on the impeller is minimized. In addition, turbulence through and around the stator is minimized to further reduce wear and for increased fluid flow control.
