Abstract: A controllable sheath for optimizing the control of surgical instruments at the operation site includes a flexible sheath surrounding an endoscope and including a lumen extending along the walls of the sheath and adjacent to the endoscope. The lumen permits the passage of surgical instruments from the proximal end of the endoscopic device to the operation site. The lumen extends beyond the distal end of the endoscope and deflects at the distal end as desired by the operator's manipulation of a controller device. This distal end deflection may occur through various different techniques where the ability to deflect the lumen gives the operator increased control and maneuverability over the surgical implements located in the lumen. Depending upon the particular requirements of the surgical procedure, the controllable sheath may include any number of lumens capable of distal end deflection.

  • Patent number: 8550380
Abstract: The spray head has a housing-mounted inflow passage for feed water, and a central first outflow passage. A second and a third outflow passage are offset in the circumferential direction with respect to an axis of rotation. Each of the outflow passages is connected to a corresponding water outlet for producing different spray jets. A control element having a connecting channel is disposed in the interior of the spray head and is rotatable about the axis of rotation by the actuating element. The actuating element can execute a lifting movement. In the starting position of the actuating element, the connecting channel exclusively connects the inflow passage to the first outflow passage. In the lifting position of the actuating element, the inflow passage is connected either to the second or the third outflow passage as a function of the actuating element and the associated rotational position of the control element.

  • Patent number: 8469295
Abstract: An explosive and narcotics detection system detects the presence of trace particles of those materials that are adhering to surfaces. In order to detect such particles, it is necessary to first dislodge or release them from the surface, next to transport them to the detection instrument, and last to accumulate them on or in a particle collection device associated with the instrument. Narcotics and explosive particles are often bound tenaciously to the surface, and simple techniques, such as blowing air, will either remove only the largest particles or none at all. A nozzle to release particles of narcotics and explosives employs a coaxial configuration that permits particle release at an increased distance from the nozzle compared to existing devices.

  • Patent number: 7066402
Abstract: A Spraying assembly for spraying liquids for agricultural purposes is provided whose respective sprayer valves attached to a common liquid supply line are at least configured in the form of valve housings whose pair of valve channels share a common distributor bore. This distributor bore allows connecting the bodies of valve housings in one of two positions in order that, provided that they are connected using a t-shaped fitting, they may be arranged either with their valve bores lined up in rows extending to the front or rear of the liquid supply line, as well as ahead of or behind the liquid supply line and aligned parallel thereto. Since one embodiment also provides a rotatable pipe-T joint, the dual-sprayer-nozzle valve units may also be arranged beneath the liquid supply line, which yields a large number of opportunities for laying out the sprayer nozzles, in spite of the simple means available for connecting them.

Abstract: A spraying gun includes a gun body, an adjusting device, a guide pipe, and a spraying nozzle. The adjusting device includes an rotatable knob, and a connecting member. Thus, the sprinkling manner of the spraying gun is adjusted by rotating the rotatable knob of the adjusting device, thereby facilitating a user operating the spraying gun. In addition, the user controls the sprinkling manner of the spraying gun easily, so that the water injected outward from the spraying gun is controlled exactly, thereby preventing the injected water from wetting the user's clothes.

Abstract: A distribution tube includes multiple liquid discharge openings provided in a sidewall of a tube body that has one liquid inlet, but is sealed off at its front end. The liquid distributor has a simple structure that allows manual adjustment of the amount of liquid discharged from the liquid discharge openings. In another embodiment, the tubular liquid distributor has a tube body with openings for liquid inlets at both ends and the center part is sealed. The sidewall of the tube body has multiple liquid discharge openings. Multiple entrance sealing rods that each have a conical tip are located on a sidewall opposite to the multiple liquid discharge openings and threaded into the tube body.

Abstract: A liquid spray module which can be individually used, or which can be easily mounted in ganged side-by-side relation with a plurality of such modules. Each module includes a spray gun cartridge having liquid passages through the liquid to be sprayed, is directed and one or more air passages through which pressurized air may be directed for assisting in atomization of the liquid and controlling operating movement of a valve needle. Each spray gun cartridge further includes a manifold body having a central bore into which the spray gun cartridge is removably mounted and liquid and air inlet and outlet passages which communicate with the liquid and air spray gun cartridge passages. The spray gun cartridge is removable from the manifold body without disconnection of fluid supply lines to the manifold body and without removal of the manifold body from a ganged mounted array of such spray modules.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for lubricating rolls, in particular for lubricating a rolling nip in rolling stands for rolled strips. According to the invention, said lubrication takes place using an oil-in-water dispersion whilst maintaining both a predetermined blend characteristic and a volumetric flow of the dispersion. The dispersion is prepared in the form of a homogeneous blend in a mixer (1) using adjustable quantities of water and oil. The dispersion is supplied to various spray zones (Zi) for a distribution (Bi) that is variable in width. Said method for roll lubrication can be improved by the allocation of at least one row of nozzles (Di) to each spray zone (Zi), which has a corresponding spray range width (Bi), each nozzle being controlled by at least one relay valve (Si).

Abstract: The present invention provides a burner tube. The burner tube has a proximal segment, a distal segment, a terminal end, and a plurality of fuel outlet ports. The proximal segment has a union region and is adapted to be connected to a fuel source. The terminal end of the burner tube is connected to the union region such that the terminal end is in fluid communication with the union region. The connection between the terminal end and union region forms a continuous burner tube, or a burner loop for the flow of fuel. An initial flow of fuel diverges in the union region into a first portion and a second portion. The first portion flows through the union region and downstream through the distal segment. The second portion of fuel from the fuel source flows through the union region and downstream through the terminal end.
