Abstract: The invention relates to a coating tool for applying a fluid film onto a substrate, wherein disposed upstream of a slot nozzle (1) for producing a fluid film, said nozzle extending substantially across the entirety of a first width (B1) of the coating tool in unbroken fashion, is a distribution space (7) for distributing the fluid over a second width (B2) of the slot nozzle (1), wherein at least one channel (6) for feeding fluid is provided upstream of the distribution space (7), said channel having a third width (B3), and wherein the third width (B3) is smaller than the second width (B2). To avoid an uneven throughput of material across the width of the slot, it is proposed according to the invention that a plurality of feed channels (9) be disposed in the distribution space (7), said channels having a cross sectional area that increases in the direction of flow (S).

Abstract: The flow limiting bottle cap secures to a container having a threaded neck and allows a user to select an open or a closed position without removing the cap from a container. Additionally fluid from within a container, when poured, forms multiple separate streams in laminar flow. The cap provides a pattern of conically shaped holes for passing of fluid. Each hole has edge conditions for adjusting the flow relative to pouring. The cap opens by raising an upper portion and closes by lowering the upper portion or by rotating the upper portion to expose the holes and closing by rotating oppositely to block the holes. Knurling upon the perimeter of the upper portion aids the user. An internal seal also excludes atmospheric communication to reduce spoilage of fluids within a container.

The trigger sprayer provides for efficacious particle size distributions of the liquids, when sprayed under non-ideal conditions. Non-ideal conditions include only partial strokes of the trigger, rather than full strokes and relatively slow trigger strokes. A bimodal distribution of particle sizes is obtained under two different operating conditions. The sprayer/liquid combination according to the present invention compresses the difference between the two modes, without requiring undue work by the operator. The advantageous particle size distribution difference is accomplished by using a precompression piston which reciprocates in response to trigger strokes, and selecting a liquid having appropriate properties to correspond to the trigger pump operating characteristics.

The reflection water impacts other water to turn to the side flowing down along the wall of the outlet. Due to the unstability of effluent, the water stream is along one place, turning to another side the next moment. So that the water sprays as a periodic and circumferential pulsed water.

  • Patent number: 8033413
Abstract: A connector system for attaching a liquid container to a spray gun includes a lid with a liquid outlet and an adapter that connects the outlet with the liquid inlet port of the gun. The lid includes interlocking tab assemblies for releasably attaching the adapter to the lid. The connector system combines with an outer cup, a ring for insertion into the mouth of the cup and a collapsible liner for insertion into the ring to form a liquid container system. The ring includes internal threads that cooperate with a peripheral flange on the lid to lock the lid to the ring, securing the lip of the liner. The lid includes a flexible gasket to form a liquid tight seal with the liner. The lid-liner-ring forms a liquid tight unit that may be inserted into and removed from the outer cup while containing a fluid such as paint.

  • Patent number: 7997511
Abstract: This invention is related to a portable texture-spraying apparatus for uniformly dispersing a viscous material. This apparatus broadly includes a tank assembly having a body with an inner wall that defines a sealed cavity, and a piston assembly slidably disposed within the sealed cavity. The piston assembly divides the sealed cavity into an air-side chamber and a material-side chamber by providing an airtight seal therebetween. Additionally an air-control assembly is provided that broadly includes a pressure-control mechanism configured for receiving compressed air and routing a controlled pneumatic pressure to a directional valve configured for adjusting between a dispensing mode and a loading mode. In dispensing mode, the directional valve routes the controlled pneumatic pressure to the air-side chamber biasing the piston assembly toward the material-side chamber.

  • Publication number: 20110121109
Abstract: A fiber preform obtained by conforming panels of fiber texture on a former having a surface that reproduces the shape desired for a surface of the nozzle or the nozzle divergent section that is to be made, and by bonding the panels together via their mutually contacting edges, and consolidated fiber reinforcement is formed by shaping the fiber preform impregnated with a consolidation composition comprising a resin, shaping being performed between the former and a jacket applied against the impregnated fiber preform so as to obtain consolidated fiber reinforcement having a fiber volume percentage of at least 35%, and having a thickness of no more than 5 mm over at least a major fraction of its axial dimension. The densification of the fiber reinforcement is continued by chemical vapor infiltration after pyrolyzing the resin so that once densified a part is obtained that has practically the shape and the wall thickness of the nozzle or the nozzle divergent section that is to be made.

  • Patent number: 7938079
Abstract: Method and apparatus for improved maskless deposition of electronic and biological materials using an extended nozzle. The process is capable of direct deposition of features with linewidths varying from a few microns to a fraction of a millimeter, and can be used to deposit features on targets with damage thresholds near 100° C. or less. Deposition and subsequent processing may be performed under ambient conditions and produce linewidths as low as 1 micron, with sub-micron edge definition. The extended nozzle reduces particle overspray and has a large working distance; that is, the orifice to target distance may be several millimeters or more, enabling direct write onto non-planar surfaces. The nozzle allows for deposition of features with linewidths that are approximately as small as one-twentieth the size of the nozzle orifice diameter, and is preferably interchangeable, enabling rapid variance of deposited linewidth.
