  • Patent number: 8079616
Abstract: A seatbelt apparatus is provided which can constrain a passenger by ensuring removal of a slack of a lap belt when two pretensioners are activated under two different time frames. A pretensioner of a seatbelt retractor is activated first, and a shoulder belt and a lap belt are pulled in a direction toward the seatbelt retractor. Subsequently, a pretensioner of a belt anchor portion is activated and pulls a seatbelt toward the belt anchor portion, and hence a one-way tongue catches and locks the seatbelt. Accordingly, the shoulder belt is prevented from moving toward the lap belt through the tongue. Therefore, removal of the slack of the lap belt is ensured, and hence a lumber of the passenger is firmly fixed.

Abstract: During ordinary use (i.e., a non-collision state) a webbing guide and a locking bar are biased in the counter-clockwise direction by the biasing force of the bar spring and are held in their initial positions so that spaces are set. Since a webbing passes through the spaces, a tongue can smoothly slide relative to the webbing. During a vehicle collision, a pulling force exceeding a predetermined value is applied to the webbing in the direction of an occupant's lap and shoulder. By this pulling force, the webbing guide rotates in the clockwise direction and the locking bar rotates in the counter-clockwise direction and linearly moves rightward. Therefore, the webbing is clamped between the locking bar and the tongue body. The clamping force at this point includes a force pulling the webbing and the biasing force of a bar spring so that a large clamping force can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 7320699
Abstract: A ligature device for body parts, with a closure housing, having a base wall, two lateral walls, a cover wall on the upper side thereof and a ligature strap, which may be coupled or is detachably coupled at one end of the closure housing, by a clipping buckle which may be introduced from the rear between an intermediate wall and the cover wall. The above is run or may be run with the other free end thereof between a rocker, pivotably mounted on the base wall and an intermediate wall, arranged at a separation above, through the closure housing, to form a loop and may be clamped by the rocker against a front section of the intermediate wall, connected to the closure housing. Easy manipulation is achieved with a simple construction, whereby the intermediate wall includes a sprung section, projecting from the upper side, by which the rear section of the clipping buckle is raised and pressed, in the assembled state, with the back upper face thereof against a counter support, fixed to the housing.

Abstract: A buckle includes a base, a one-piece handle and an elastic element. The base is made of a metal sheet by pressing and includes two walls, a floor between the walls and a jaw between the walls. The one-piece handle is made of a metal sheet by pressing and includes a touch portion at an end and a jaw near the touch portion. The one-piece handle is installed on the base to define a gap between the jaw of the base and the jaw of the one-piece handle. The one-piece handle can be pivoted on the base between a first position where the gap is small and a second position where the gap is large. The elastic element tends to keep the one-piece handle in the first position.

Abstract: A pair of swimming/diving goggles includes a goggle body, a buckle, and a head strap. A wall delimiting a through-hole in the goggle body includes a pressing face. A pin is mounted to the buckle. An end of the head strap extends through the through-hole, a gap between the pin and an inner face of the buckle, and then extending through the through-hole again. When an outer portion of the head strap is pulled and then released, a clamping force provided by an inner portion of the head strap moves the pin to a position in which the head strap is tightly clamped between the pin and the pressing face. When the buckle is moved toward an inner end of the through-hole, a gap between the pin and the pressing face becomes larger to allow loosening of the head strap.

  • Patent number: 7181808
Abstract: A fastener is adapted to retain one or more holes of a belt or strap beneath a belt frame without passing through the frame. The fastener comprises primarily a frame and a back plate, coupled together for relative rotational movement about an axis parallel to the axial orientation of the strap. The frame also serves as a biasing member to engage a latch mechanism. The back plate anchors the member-to-be-secured, if it is a belt. Otherwise, if the member-to-be-secured is a strap to, for example, close a pocket, then the back plate is mounted to the body on which the pocket is mounted, such as a purse or a piece of luggage. A faux tongue gives the appearance of a known buckle, but the faux tongue does not pass through the belt or strap.
