Plastic Bands Patents (Class 24/17AP)
  • Patent number: 4493358
Abstract: Apparatus and method for retaining pleats in hanging draperies including an elongated flexible cord having a plurality of elongated resilient members fixedly secured at spaced locations along the cord, each member including a first mating section interconnected by a fold portion to a second mating section and a pointed end extending from one of the mating sections. A pointed end receiver extends from the other of the mating sections in a direction opposite the pointed end whereby the two mating sections are releasably locked together with the pointed end entering the receiver clamping a portion of one of the pleats of the hanging drapery therebetween. In this manner, each resilient member is secured to a pleat thereby retaining the drapery in a hanging position spacing one pleat from another.

  • Patent number: 4470173
Abstract: A disposable one-piece security sealing device primarily intended to surround the neck of a bag or like package comprises a strap (1) having an enclosure (3) at one end defining a passage (4) through which the other end of the strap is irremovably insertable to an adjustable extent as a result of interaction between a plurality of teeth spaced in a row along the strap with a resiliently deformable member (4b) which is integral with the housing and situated at or adjacent a bend (4a) in the passage; characteristically an identity or pull-off tab (6) is formed as an extension of the strap around and beyond the enclosure for tearing when required along a line of weakness which extends round the enclosure (3) and terminates in a side edge of the strap. By tearing along that line the end of the strap having the tab (6) is separated from the enclosure (3). There may be two rows of teeth on the strap and the enclosure would then have a passage formed with two channels to accommodate the respective rows of teeth.

  • Patent number: 4317262
Abstract: A releasable cable clamp having a base which can be affixed to a work surface. The base comprises a planar member and an upright pedestal. Connected to the pedestal is a strap which extends therefrom in a generally arcuate manner forming a cable-securing loop. The strap has a catch formed near one end. The catch operates in conjunction with a closure device to close and lock the clamp. A releasing latch is connected to the closure device. The latch and strap have an interlock feature which becomes engaged when the clamp is closed. Actuating the releasing latch causes the strap to be moved such that the catch is disengaged from the closure device, allowing the clamp to open.

  • Patent number: RE31541
Abstract: A harnessing device formed by a locking head and an attached webbed strap. The head contains oppositely positioned locking tangs in a guide channel that receives the strap after encirclement of items to be harnessed. The tangs engage abutments of the webbed strap for adjustable retention of the harnessed items. The strap is advantageously molded of a stretch reorientable material. Stretching produces a relatively thin and strengthened web which resists penetration by the locking tangs and reduces the possibility of failure by fracture or reverse rotation. The inclusion of the relatively thin web also promotes homogeneity during molding and avoids imperfections that can cause failure in other types of straps.
