Eyeglass Holder Including Retaining Means Patents (Class 24/3.3)
  • Publication number: 20030014845
Abstract: An eyeglass holder adapted to be used with a pair of eyeglasses. The eyeglass holder includes an elongated, narrow generally V-shaped substantially rigid loop having an open central area defined by two upwardly diverging slender side portions or legs connected together at a narrow distal lower tip of the loop. An eyelet is provided connected to a top portion of the loop so that the eyeglass holder may be suspended about the neck. The open central area is of a size sufficient for a temple side piece of a pair of folded eyeglasses to be hung over and receive support between the side portions at a point just above the distal lower tip whereby the temple side piece becomes sufficiently wedged within the loop so as to enhance retention of the eyeglasses in the eyeglass holder during active body movement.

Abstract: A spectacles caddy can be attached by its spring clip to a vehicle visor or other similar substantially flat, thin, and stiff object. The shell of the caddy is made in two shallow elongate half boxes attached together at one short end by a hinge, and at the other by a latch closure. The latch is released by an exterior push button. A deformable member is provided in each shallow half box to grip the arms of a pair of spectacles inserted into the caddy. The longer side of each shallow half box also includes recosses, so that the sides do not grip the spectacle arms. The hinge is also constructed to limit the angular opening of the caddy to at most 45°, and preferably to about 30°, so that when in use attached, for example to a vehicle visor, the spectacles do not fall out when the caddy is opened to retrieve them.

  • Patent number: 6425664
Abstract: A folding device of glasses includes a body having two frames, and two temples that may be folded and expanded. Two magnetic attraction structures are mounted on the two temples, so that the two temples may magnetically attract each other when the glasses are disposed at a folded status. In such a manner, when the glasses are disposed at a folded status, and are hung on the pocket of a clothing, a first temple is placed in the pocket of the clothing, and a second temple is exposed outward from the pocket of the clothing, so that the two temples may attract and bond each other by the magnetic attraction structures to secure the glasses on the pocket of the clothing. Thus, the glasses can be rigidly and safely placed in the pocket, and can be removed from the pocket conveniently.
