  • Patent number: 7322075
Abstract: A metallic slide fastener element in which an exposed portion outside of an element is finished uniformly with a high smoothness and the fixing strength to a fastener tape is intensified, and a method for effectively manufacturing the same element, wherein a metallic flat type wire rod is placed on a die and the flat type wire rod is punched out with a punch so as to produce a slide fastener element, and at this time, a mouth on a punch side of the die or a peripheral edge of the die is chamfered at a radius of 0.01 to 1.0 mm and a clearance between the punch and the die is set to 0 to 30 ?m, so that an element, which has a cut surface comprising a shear surface of 80% or more and a fracture surface of less than 20% and is suitable as a slide fastener to be attached to a high quality product, is obtained.

  • Patent number: 7082649
Abstract: In a Y bar for forming coupling elements, an opening angle of a pair of right and left leg parts is narrower than that of the ordinary ones. Plural bent portions, which are bent inward, are formed successively in an extending direction of the leg parts in a range from a crotch part toward pawl parts at front ends of the leg parts. The gap between the pawl parts are narrowed gradually from proximal ends to front ends thereof. Bulging portions are provided on outer side surfaces of the crotch part. Thus, the stabilization of the posture of a metallic coupling element, which is obtained by cutting the Y bar, at the time of mounting, strength of the coupling element and stabilization of the mounting posture of the coupling element to the fastener tape can be improved.

  • Patent number: 4823446
Abstract: A fluid-tight slide fastener stringer has a fluid-tight tape including a longitudinally non-stretchable and transversely stretchable woven or knit fabric wholly covered with a layer of elastic rubber or synthetic resin. The tape has non-stretchable warp inlaid threads and stretchable weft inlaid threads. The laterally stretchable tape serves as a shock absorber for reducing the intensity of external lateral pulling forces exerted on the tape.

  • Patent number: 4744133
Abstract: A fluid-tight slide fastener stringer has a fluid-tight tape chiefly made of rubber or synthetic resin on which tape a series of discrete coupling elements are supported along an inner longitudinal margin of the tape. The tape margin is folded so as to provide therealong a pair of spaced contact portions and a folded edge portion disposed between the contact portions. The tape has a foamed layer extending in and through at least the contact portions and the folded edge portion. At least the margin of the resultant tape is excellent in ability of restitution, causing an improved fluid-tightness between the opposed stringers.

  • Patent number: 4513482
Abstract: A fluid-tight slide fastener stringer comprising a support tape made of a fluid-tight soft material, and a row of discrete coupling elements mounted on the tape along an inner longitudinal edge portion thereof. Such tape margin is folded so as to provide therealong a contact portion engageable with a corresponding contact portion of a like companion stringer to effect a fluid-tightness between the two stringers. In order to absorb or reduce undue stress exerted on the individual coupling elements, each coupling element has a slot extending parallel to the general plane of the stringer transversely through the whole width of a coupling head portion and also extending longitudinally of the same coupling element through the coupling head portion into a base portion.
