Including Pull Tab Attaching Means Patents (Class 24/429)
  • Patent number: 7117567
Abstract: A two-part connecting zipper pull includes a pull tab with receiving apertures therein and a connecting aperture, a loop member having ends to be fitted into the receiving apertures, and a securing pin for removably securing the ends of the loop member into the receiving apertures. The ends have apertures which align with the connecting aperture of the pull tab for allowing the securing pin to pass therethrough. The pull tab may have ornamental indicia thereon. The pull tab is particularly useful for the repair of existing zippered items such as luggage, handbags, clothing and the like, and can be marketed for repair purposes, or for cosmetic or appearance changes of the zipper.

  • Patent number: 7111714
Abstract: A slide fastener and related pull are disclosed. The pull is formed of an elongate strip of material defining a handle portion between a first end and an opposite second end. The first end of the pull is attached to the article bearing an elongate set of engaging structures for the slide fastener. A slide for operably engaging the set of engaging structures is attached to the pull toward the opposite second end. Accordingly, the handle portion forms an easily graspable quasi-pull chord for opening and closing the pull fastener. In a preferred embodiment, a tab portion of the pull extends from the slide attachment point on the pull to the second end of the pull, and it is detachably secured to the article when the slide fastener is in its closed position. Accordingly, the pull itself can be used as a storage device to hang objects such as a towel, a pair of shoes or the like therefrom. The pull can also serve as a protective cover for the pull fastener and have surface ornamentation thereon.

The hook member is pivotally coupled to a shaft that extends across the channel and presents a J-shaped configuration having a free end dimensioned so as to be received through the hole of the pull tab of a slide fastener. The hook member is pivotally movable between a first storage position in which the free end is received by a recess formed in the bottom wall of the channel and a second use position wherein the free end extends from the front end of the handle member.

Abstract: An object of this invention is to provide a zipper pull of resilient body which is attached to a slider in a lateral direction thereof and capable of sliding the slider by rotating the zipper pull slightly so that the zipper pull is held in a stabilized state. A zipper pull mounting portion is provided on a top surface of a slider body and a connecting body of a zipper pull is disposed in a lateral direction relative to the mounting portion. The connecting body is comprised of two lateral bars disposed in parallel and vertical bars connected to both ends thereof so as to be protruded longitudinally. One of the vertical bars is buried in the zipper pull of resilient body so as to form a fixing portion. The zipper pull has an annular shape for surrounding the slider body. The lateral bars of the connecting body are inserted into the mounting portion.

Abstract: A zipper closure system is disclosed comprising one or more slider bodies with a reinforced bracing integrated with a lock eyelet, a closed bail, slider body top and bottom platforms and a slider body diamond. A releasing pull tab assembly comprised of a pull tab channeled to receive a pull tab connector attaches to the slider body. The connector's head portion encompasses the slider body's bail and the connector's lower portion is mated with the pull tab securely attaching connector to the pull tab. At a predetermined force, the connector will release from the pull tab, releasing the slider body with no loss of functionality. The other components are designed to withstand a force in excess of the predetermined force. This release prevents damage to other components. The predetermined release force ranges from 25 to 200 pounds in alternate embodiments. A consumer can easily repair the unit by mating the original or replacement connector piece with the pull tab.

  • Patent number: 6357086
Abstract: A first extension member has a head coupled to a first zipper head and a tail having a male connector and an elongated generally flat intermediate portion between the head and the male connector. A second extension member has a head coupled to a second zipper head and a body with a female connector that receives and locks the male connector and receives and permits free sliding movement of the elongated flat intermediate portion. The female connector prevents removal of the male connector therefrom to prevent opening the zipper beyond a predetermined position based on the length of the elongated intermediate portion. Because the male connector is positioned generally at the end of the tail and the elongated intermediate portion is generally flat, the tail may slide freely within the female connector between the head and the male connector so that the zipper is therefore not locked in any fixed position.
