  • Patent number: 4536924
Abstract: A one piece clamping device which includes a proximal flexible hinge portion, distal portions having non-penetrating substantially flat gripping surfaces, and male and female medial portions. The male medial portion has a male locking member, one surface of which is toothed and the other surface of which is non-toothed. The female medial portion has a female locking cavity and a locking ledge extending therein. The toothed surface of the male locking member thereby meshes with the locking ledges of the female cavity. The male medial portion also includes a male guide, and the female medial portion also include a female guide channel for receiving the guide and a spur to guide the non-toothed surface of the male locking member into position in the female cavity and to retain it.

  • Patent number: 4523353
Abstract: The specification discloses a refillable sanitary ice pack (10) for single patient use. The ice pack takes the form of a generally rectangular envelope (12) having two sides (14, 16), an open end (18) and a closed end (20). Two pairs of tie strings (22, 24) and (26, 28) extend from the open and closed ends, respectively. A bag (30) closed on three sides and having a throat (34) opening at the open end of the envelope is formed internally of the envelope for receiving and retaining ice. A funnel (38) dimensioned to conform with the divergence of the throat in the bag may be inserted into the throat for filling the bag. A closure member (50) is also provided for sealing the throat of the bag when the bag has been filled with ice.

  • Patent number: 4520607
Abstract: A retaining clip composed of a resilient clasping spring and a lock member wherein the clasping spring operates to releasably engage the engagement portion of a panel member, such as a wall or ceiling plate, the engagement portion operating to resiliently displace the clasping spring when the panel member is brought into supported engagement therewith and to further resiliently displace the clasping spring so that it may be brought into engagement with the lock member to hold the clasping spring in a disengaged position to allow the panel member to be released, the clasping spring being adapted to be brought back to its original position when a panel member is to be again brought into supported engagement therewith.

  • Patent number: 4470179
Abstract: A fastener clip for fastening round stock to support bodies including an integral base and a pair of side walls defining a U-shaped fastening space. Elastically spreadable insertion walls are connected near their outer ends by easily bendable hinge strips to the side walls and extend into the fastening space in a V-shape fashion. Bosses on the side walls adjacent the hinge strips and slightly spaced from the hinge strips prevent outward pivoting of the insertion walls. A fastener foot on the base allows the clip to be fastened to a support body.

  • Patent number: 4453295
Abstract: A hose clamp, which may be completely made of plastic, comprises two clamping stirrups which can be anchored in clamping position by interaction of a tongue on one stirrup and a toothed section of the other stirrup. The hose to be clamped can either extend through coaxial openings of the clamping stirrups or be introduced between the stirrups from the side. In the first case, the clamp can only be removed over a free end of the hose while, in the second case, the clamp can be positioned at any point along the hose as desired.

  • Patent number: 4428612
Abstract: The disclosure concerns a swivel mount for the sun visor of an automotive vehicle. There is a mount housing including a tubular part that passes around the mounting shaft of the sun visor and a part that extends away from that shaft receiving part of the mount housing. The mount housing might be an integral molding or a bent sheet metal part. A cutout is defined along the length of the mount housing for receiving a detent spring therein. The cutout includes a web that divides the cutout into a top part near the mounting shaft and a bottom part. An end stop is located near the bottom of the mount housing. The reinforcing insert for the visor body might extend through the mount housing and define the end stop. The detent spring is U-shaped, with one arm passing down the outside of the cutout web and the end stop at one side of the mount housing.

  • Patent number: 4416038
Abstract: A closure device for the tubular stem of an inflated balloon, including a pair of legs which are hingedly interconnected for movement from an open to a closed position wherein they are in substantially parallel spaced relation. Closure members on the legs extend towards the opposite respective legs and include shoulder portions which interlock when the device is in said closed position to define a tortuous path through which a balloon stem extends and is clamped to effect the sealing thereof. Retaining members which are preferably similar in configuration to the closure members are provided to retain the device in its closed position.
