Abstract: A headliner for use in a vehicle having a roof, the headliner including a sheet and a plurality of first snap portions adapted to couple with a plurality of corresponding second snap portions fixed to the vehicle roof to mount the sheet to an interior side the vehicle roof through the interaction of the plurality of first snap portions and the corresponding second snap portions. A method for installing a headliner on a vehicle roof structure includes providing a headliner comprising a sheet having an upper surface, a lower surface, and a plurality of first snap portions fixed to the sheet, and joining the plurality of first snap portions to a plurality of second snap portions fixed to the roof structure, the plurality of second snap portions adapted to couple with the plurality of first snap portions to mount the sheet to the interior side the vehicle roof structure.

Abstract: A modular building block system and method. A set of pieces are formed with interlocking pegs and holes allowing the creation of structures. One such structure that can be made is a cube which can be attached using the pegs and holes to identically formed cubes. The cubes have panels of which custom artwork can be printed on them, thereby enabling complex scenes to be created using only the cubes.

Abstract: An attachment system for securing a frontal helmet extension to protective headgear, the attachment system including one or more magnetic elements disposed on the helmet and/or frontal helmet extension and one or more complementary elements disposed on the helmet and/or frontal helmet extension and adapted to engage the magnetic elements. The magnetic elements and complementary elements are configured to detachably couple the frontal helmet extension to the helmet in a position wherein the frontal helmet extension extends forward from the helmet. The magnetic properties of the magnetic elements are adapted to magnetically attract the complementary elements so that the frontal helmet extension is effectively secured to the helmet during ordinary use of the helmet while allowing release of the frontal helmet extension from the helmet upon impact.

Abstract: Helmet with visor having a shell structure shaped is to at least partly cover the user's head. The visor is hinged to the opposite sides of the shell and mobile with respect to the shell between a raised position and a lowered position where it provides a protective extension of the helmet at the eyes of the user. The visor is manually switchable from the raised and lowered positions by using a magnetic coupling between the visor and the shell which guides and keeps the visor stable in the raised and lowered position and in a plurality of intermediate positions.

Abstract: A headed retention pin is proposed that seats into recesses in the lower adjoining edges of two screening panels. The heads are tapered vertical from the upper surface of the head to the lower edge of the panels and tapered horizontally from the outer edge of the heads toward the center line of the head which lies on the join line of the two adjacent panels. These appear to be an X in plan view. The advantage is that as well as locating the panels correctly and retaining the panels on the frame they also pull the adjacent panels together to reduce ingress of fines between the panels.

One earring support extends in a counterclockwise direction from the earring retainer, and the other earring support extends in a clockwise direction from the earring retainer.

Abstract: The coupler includes a male coupler formed with an annular groove, and a female coupler into which the male coupler is detachably inserted. The female coupler includes a first body part downwardly open, a second body part upwardly open, being rotatably connected with the first body part, and defining a hollow space together with the first body part, and a guide housed in the space, and supporting the male coupler inserted into the female coupler. The guide is composed of a material having elasticity, and exerts an elastic force on the first body part and the second body part such that they are closed to each other.

Abstract: A buckle assembly, including at least one buckle and at least one release trigger, wherein the buckle has a first buckle component and an additional buckle component. The first buckle component has a bar, which is movable back and forth between a locked position and an unlocked position. In a connected position of the buckle components the bar engages in the locked position thereof behind a locking surface of the additional buckle component in order to interlock the two buckle components and the bar can be moved to the unlocked position to disconnect the buckle components. The release trigger is connected to at least one of the buckle components by a transmission line, preferably a Bowden cable, the additional buckle component has at least one counter bar, which is movable from a locked position of the counter bar to an unlocked position by actuating the release trigger.

Abstract: A vehicular accessory retention clip is used to attach a vehicular accessory, such as vehicular trim, to a vehicle. The vehicular accessory may have a substrate component that has at least one reinforcement post, and the vehicle may have a vehicular base component that has at least one corresponding opening configured to receive the reinforcement post. The retention clip has at least two walls that extend from an edge of a platform, each wall having an exterior tab and an interior tab configured to engage with the walls of the opening and the reinforcement post, respectively. The retention clip is slid onto the reinforcement post until the interior tabs engage with the reinforcement post, and the combination of the retention clip and reinforcement post is inserted until the exterior tabs engage with the walls of the opening.

The carried member has a recess and the carrying unit has a movable latch that can be engaged into the recess for locking the carrier member in the cavity. Mutually magnetically attracting parts or materials are provided in or on the carrying unit and carried member for magnetically attracting the protrusion into the cavity. At least one or both of the latch and the protrusion are shaped to allow easy insertion of the protrusion into the cavity, or the latch may be manually pushed aside to allow insertion of the protrusion into the cavity.

Abstract: An apparatus for replacing a button is provided having a pin and a base. The pin includes a head and a stem attached to, and substantially perpendicular to, the head. The base includes a case having a cavity defined by a top surface including an opening for receiving the stem and a side surface coupled to the top surface. A mechanism for securing the pin within the case includes one or two springs, configured to releasably engage a ridged portion of the stem of the pin. The depth of insertion of the pin into the case is controlled by the engagement of the pin and the springs, a solid bottom surface of the case, and a flange on the stem that engages the top surface of the case at a desired depth.

Abstract: A shackle is provided that is fixedly mounted to a surface. The shackle can have a body, a hasp, and a locking pin. The body can define at least one mounting bore that is configured for mounting the shackle to the surface. The proximal end of the hasp is configured to rotate relative to the body and the distal end of the hasp is configured to selectively engage the locking pin, such that an enclosed area is defined. A tethering device can be attached to the shackle via cooperative engagement with the selectively enclosed area.

Abstract: Latch mechanism devices for attaching components within a device and methods of use are provided herein. In one aspect, the latch mechanism includes a pair of deflectable members between which a protruding latch member, such as a latch pin, is inserted thereby separating the deflectable members. A latch pin can have a distal insertion portion and a proximal locking portion, the locking portion having a reduced profile so as to resiliently receive the deflectable members displaced by insertion of the latch pin so as to couple the latch pin between the cords. The latch pin can have insertion faces and locking faces angled so as to control the force required to insert and retract the latch pin from the cord pair. The latch mechanism may utilize releasing mechanisms for separating or reducing tension in the deflectable members to facilitate retraction of the latch pin.

Abstract: A push-in fastener clip assembly includes a fastener having deflectable legs and compression ring for sliding along the deflectable legs during installation, with the compression ring connected to the fastener by frangible connections that are broken as the fastener clip assembly is being installed. Slots in the fastener guide the broken frangible connections during installation of the fastener, limiting rotation of the compression ring.

Abstract: An electronic system includes a first circuit board having a first connection interface, and a second circuit board having a second connection interface and a guide pin device. The guide pin device includes a convex connector and a concave connector. The convex connector includes a guide member and a connection portion. The connection portion connects the guide member to the first circuit board and has two first inclined surfaces formed on two opposite sides of the guide member. The concave connector is secured on the second circuit board and includes a guide sliding slot and two second inclined surfaces formed on two opposite sides of the guide sliding slot. When the guide member is aligned with and is inserted into the guide sliding slot, the two first inclined surfaces mat with the two second inclined surfaces, and the first connection interface is engaged with the second connection interface.

The fastener is further configured for being un-fastened or dis-assembled for adding one or more cards, removing one or more cards, shuffling or re-arranging the order of the cards, etc., and then removably re-fastened together using the same or a different sized (longer or shorter) fastener. In certain embodiment, a money clip is removably attached together with two or more cards.

The elongated pin segment extends along an axial passageway such that the distal ball head and at least a portion of the striker shaft project outwardly away from the housing with the internal snap arms behind the base platform. A striker catch engages the distal ball head upon insertion into the striker catch.

A strap restraint device for securing one or more straps of a child care device includes a body portion. Abstract: Hang tags are provided for mounting on merchandise in a retail setting. The hang tags include a card with a plurality of edges, with a region of reinforcing material located at or adjacent to the top edge of the card, surrounding an aperture through which a fastener is received. The region defines the shape of a pair of intersecting elongated shapes such as ovals or ellipses, thereby positioning the reinforcing material in the locations where it is most needed to prevent theft-based removal of the tag from the merchandise, while omitting reinforcing material from the locations where it is not needed. Also provided is an attachment device, such as an applicator gun, for substantially simultaneously applying the reinforcing material to the tag and fastening the tag to a piece of merchandise.

Abstract: A closure includes a first section having a bore, the bore having a crimped opening smaller than an inner portion thereof, and a second section having a shaft which is at least partially deformed inside the bore to lock the two sections together. The closure may be a magnetic snap fastener or mechanical snap fastener. The magnetic or mechanical snap components releasably connect a first and second sheet material. The first section of the closure may be an ornamental cap or button. A method for forming a crimped locking bore comprises a tool having a bore with tapered sidewalls to form the crimped opening of the first section of the closure.

Abstract: Devices and methods based upon the concept of a split ring (604) having certain multiple interior angles (604a, 604b) to engage a stem or post (608) having annular ring(s) with angular geometries that are complimentary to those of the split ring. The disclosure provides designs for a wide range of insertion and desertion forces between latch engagement stems and latch engagement bodies. Changes to insertion contact angles and contact area on engagement stems and corresponding changes to insertion contact angles and engagement areas on engagement bodies can significantly modify insertion forces required to engage various devices. Similarly, changes in degrees of angle between desertion angles and contact areas on engagement stems with corresponding changes in desertion angles and contact areas on engagement bodies will significantly modify the total desertion forces required to disengage various devices.

Abstract: A capture mechanism provides for receiving a necked coupling element within a socket, providing for the necked coupling element to slide therewith, biasing a latch lever in an open position so as to provide for receiving the necked coupling element within the socket adjacent to the latch lever, rotating the latch lever with the necked coupling element from the open position to a closed position as the necked coupling element is slid within the socket towards a bottom of the socket, biasing a latch lock against the latch lever, engaging the latch lock with the latch lever when the latch lever is in the closed position so as to provide for latching the latch lever in the closed position and capturing the necked coupling element within the socket, and providing for unlatching the latch lever by releasing the latch lock from engagement with the latch lever.

Abstract: Accessory systems and methods are provided. An accessory may be designed with two loops (such as an elastomeric strap or two elastic loops) attached to the back of a decorative ornament using, for example, an interlocking post. The accessory may be removably attached to footwear. The ornament may rest on the upper part of a shoe, while the two elastic loops secure the ornament by coming together underneath the shoe strap, upper or lace to form a single combined loop and then flipping over the ornament, thereby holding it in place. These accessory ornaments may be moved from shoe to shoe, allowing the wearer to create their own look. In addition, the wearer may change the ornament on the same shoe, changing the look of that one shoe, depending on the chosen ornament. The accessory ornament may be attached to other objects, such as ski poles, helmets, goggles, bike handle bars, zippers, and purses.

Abstract: A channel release system provides a platform member and sub-components that stack in a staggered/separated order and align in a channel when used together. A pin member slides through the channel and locks them together. When the pin is pulled through the channels, any secured components or equipment are released and can fall away. The channel release system of the present invention enables users to quickly release clothing, materials and other items to improve mobility, facilitate care and provide other benefits.

Abstract: Latching mechanisms for electronic modules. In one example embodiment, a latching mechanism for an electronic module includes a latch, a latch return spring, and a release slide. The latch is configured to rotate between a latched position and an unlatched position. The latch includes a latch arm on a first end of the latch and an engagement pin on a second end of the latch. The latch return spring is configured to bias the latch in the latched position. The release slide includes a slide ramp. The slide ramp is configured to engage the latch arm as the release slide is slid away from the engagement pin, which causes the latch to rotate from the latched position to the unlatched position.

Abstract: A recessed attachment point is mountable in a surface for attaching tie downs, life lines, etc. to the surface. The attachment point comprises a housing including a mounting plate having a central opening and a well extending from the central opening. An attachment member is slidingly connected to the housing such that it slides between a first (retracted) position in which an open end of the attachment member is retracted into the well and a second (extended) position in which the open end of the attachment member at least partially extends out of the well and through the opening in the mounting plate.
