    Abstract: A wood chipper includes a motor, a drive shaft, a feed roller, a feed chute, a chipping device 103, a discharge chute, and at least two adjustable legs. The feed roller has a centered horizontal position which is halfway between its minimum and maximum positions. When the feed roller is at its centered horizontal position, the motor, the drive shaft, and the feed roller are all level with one another. When the feed roller is below its centered position, the drive shaft is angled down from the motor to the feed roller. When the feed roller is above its centered position, the drive shaft is angled up from the motor to the feed roller. A plurality of guides maintain the feed roller in a level position. The legs are adjustable independent of one other to different heights. The legs angle outward at their bottom portions, where they are attached to skids.

    Abstract: An apparatus pulverizes material composed of wet or dry discrete objects into relatively smaller particles with shock waves created by flowing the material through a housing having alternating rotors and orifice plates. The housing includes a first end having a feed chute for introducing the material into the housing, a second end having an opening for removing the smaller particles, and internal sides meeting in corners, which extend longitudinally between the first and second ends. A rotatable shaft extends substantially along a longitudinal central axis of the housing. Rotors each include a hub coupled to the shaft for rotation therewith, a substantially polygonal-shaped rotor plate centrally fixed to the hub and having apices, and a plurality of vanes each vanes extending approximately radially inward on a side of the rotor plate from an apex. Each orifice plate extends inwardly from the internal sides of the housing to a central aperture which provides an orifice around the shaft.

    Abstract: A device for fastening a roll to the frame construction in a paper machine, paper finishing machine, or equivalent, wherein the ends of the roll are provided with bearings. The bearing housings of the bearings, or fastening bases formed onto the bearing housings, are mounted against a back-up face formed on the frame construction so as to position the roll in its place on the machine frame. On the machine frame, fastening members are arranged to be displaceable in a direction substantially perpendicular to and against the back-up face formed on the frame construction and include flange portions, i.e., shoulders or equivalent formed pieces. Correspondingly, the bearing housings, or fastening bases arranged thereon, are provided with grooves corresponding to the shape of the flange portions of the fastening members. When the roll is installed in its place, the flange portions pass into the grooves in the bearing housings.
