  • Patent number: 11612101
Abstract: Weed seeds are destroyed in the chaff from a combine harvester by repeated high speed impacts caused by a rotor mounted in one of a pair of side by side housings which accelerate the discarded seeds in a direction centrifugally away from the rotor onto a stator including angularly adjustable stator surfaces around the axis. Thus the discarded seeds rebound back and forth between the rotor and the stator to provide a plurality of impacts. The seeds are carried axially of the rotor by a controlled airstream so that they move to an axial discharge location where a discharge fan is mounted. The angle of the discharge around the rotor axis can be changed to direct the seeds to the side of the combine away from a straw chopper, towards the guide fins of the tailboard of the chopper, or into the housing of the straw chopper.

Air entrained with the chipped material moves toward the discharge chute and away from the material inlet. A deflector may be include near the mouth of the discharge chute to further guide air flow from the fan chamber toward the discharge chute and prevent the backflow of air into the chipping chamber.

  • Patent number: 6840028
Abstract: A yard vacuum unit includes a deck including upper and lower housing members that form a discharge outlet and a nozzle operatively connected to the deck. An engine is mounted to the deck and includes a drive shaft. An impeller assembly is used to draw yard debris in through the nozzle and out through the discharge outlet and is positioned between the upper and lower housing members. The impeller assembly includes an impeller plate, a hub fixedly connected to the impeller plate, and a plurality of fan blades each having first and second ends and first and second sides. Each fan blade first end is fixedly connected to the hub all along the first end and each fan blade first side is fixedly connected to the impeller plate all along the first side. In this way, a continuous airtight seal is formed along the entire first end of each fan blade with the hub and along the entire first side with the impeller plate. Each second end extends to the outer periphery of the impeller plate.

Abstract: An impeller for generating an air flow, for use in a device such as a blower/vacuum, the impeller having a hub structure for mounting the impeller on a rotatable shaft of the blower/vac and a plurality of air-flow generating vanes coupled to the hub structure in a non-uniform manner wherein the spacing between adjacent vanes is irregular. An impeller having non-uniform spacing between adjacent vanes is provided. Additional features of the impeller may include a plurality of debris engaging structures or serrations for facilitating a finer mulch of air-entrained debris.

  • Patent number: 6592059
Abstract: In a working engine including a bearing mounted on an outer wall of a crankcase for carrying a crankshaft, an oil seal mounted on the outer wall of a crankcase and disposed outside and adjacent the bearing, and a cooling fan which is attached to an outer end of the crankshaft adjacent the oil seal with its blades turned toward the crankcase and which has blades protruding toward the crankcase, a cylindrical protective tube is formed on an outer sidewall of the crankcase to cover ends of bosses of the cooling fan, and a foreign matter-beating piece is formed on the cooling fan 16 in proximity to an outer peripheral surface of the protective tube. Thus, even if a long foreign matter drawn in by the cooling fan such as a weed and the like has been entangled around the crankshaft, it can be beaten and loosened, or cut by the foreign matter-beating piece rotated along with the cooling fan.

  • Patent number: 6550705
Abstract: A comminuting mechanism is disclosed that includes a rotatable drive shaft which supports a plurality of blades, each blade having both straight arms and arms having angled tip portions. The shaft and blades are supported on a frame within a hood, and the frame is pulled along a ground surface by a tractor or other vehicle. Debris is pulled into the housing by the combined action of the forward motion of the vehicle and an inward airflow generated by fan members on the rotating blades, pulverized by the action of the blades, and discharged through an outlet.

  • Patent number: 6550702
Abstract: An apparatus for receiving wood scraps from a work area and reducing the scraps to wood chips having a saleable consistency and size. The apparatus includes a combined chipper and a blower section, the chipper section being mounted on the intake side of the blower section so that the blower section draws the wood scraps into the chipper section, and then draws the resulting chips from the chipper section and discharges them to a predetermined collection area. The chipper section includes a grate having a plurality of through openings, and a rotating chipper blade that is positioned in front of the grate. The blower fan is mounted behind the grate so as to receive the chips passing therethrough, and discharges the chips through an opening in the surrounding housing. A flexible hose or other conduit may be mounted to the intake opening of the chipper section for vacuuming up and collecting wood scraps from the work area.

  • Patent number: 6412405
Abstract: A device inside a grinder to peel the inner embryo membrane of coffee beans is disclosed. It has a motor with a motor shaft, a positioning cylinder located on the lateral side of a motor and having a lower exit inside a conveyor base, and a conveyor base, which is on the lateral side of the grinder and has an extruded exit end on the other side of the grinder. The motor shaft connects to an eccentric synchronic rotation grinding bar. During rotation, the grinding surface completely hits the inner ring rim of the positioning cylinder and coffee beans are ground into particles. When the particles fall, due to low specific weight, the embryo membrane is drawn by a fan located on the lateral wall of a grinder and is collected in a dust collection bag.
