Abstract: A separation apparatus for separating minerals or other particulate matter, including a housing, a particulate inlet, a fluid inlet and an outlet. The separation apparatus separates the minerals or other particulate matter, based on density. This is achieved by ingressing a fluid into the fluid inlet to create appropriate fluidization of the particulate matter within the housing. Low density material may typically be extracted from an upper end of the housing, whilst higher density material may be typically extracted from a lower end of the housing. Abstract: A shredder for shredding substrates has a shredder mechanism, a motor, and a pair of cooperating shredding structures each having a set of spaced apart cutter elements interleaving with one another such that substrates are fed between the interleaved sets of cutter elements. At least one of the cooperating shredding structures includes a rotatably mounted shaft rotatable by the motor with its cutter elements mounted in spaced apart relation with spaces therebetween. The shaft has a tubular body with an inner surface defining a hollow interior, an outer surface, and a plurality of openings formed through the tubular body open to the inner and outer surfaces. The openings are open to the spaces between the cutter elements on the shafts. A supply of lubricant communicates with the plurality of openings of the shaft to deliver the lubricant from the interior of the shaft to the cutter elements through the openings.

Abstract: Ductility of a high-magnesium or high-aluminum content workpiece is increased during plastic deformation of the workpiece. When the workpiece is plastically deformed in a sealed chamber comprising a high concentration of dry hydrogen gas, the workpiece exhibits increased ductility compared to the ductility of a workpiece of identical composition that is similarly deformed in air. Enhanced ductility is quantified for several workpieces comprising aluminum and magnesium alloys in various forms including extruded sheets, drawn bars, rolled plates, and piston casts. Enhanced ductility is evident over a wide range of processing temperatures without a significant decrease in strength characteristics.

Abstract: A molybdenum disulfide powder product produced by jet milling a molybdenum disulfide precursor material and substantially continuously combining newly sized-reduced particles with oil to produce said molybdenum disulfide powder product, said molybdenum disulfide powder product having a D50 particle size of less than 4 ?m and an acid number that is less than about 0.5 mg KOH/g. A method for producing powder product includes the steps of: Providing a supply of a precursor powder material; accelerating particles of the precursor powder material by combining them with a flow of gas; confining the accelerated particles in a milling chamber so that they collide with one another to effect a size reduction; and coating newly exposed surfaces of size-reduced particles with oil.

Abstract: A salt dust generator and method for producing salt dust that is used in salt therapy are described where salt dust is generated when salt particles that are moved in an air flow collide with each other and with certain parts of a salt dust generator. By regulating the speed of the air flow, thus changing its capability to carry the salt particles, and using obstacles, for instance nets that are placed into the salt dust generator vessel, it is possible to increase the amount of the collisions of the salt particles and thus make the formation of the salt dust more efficient.

Abstract: The device is for the dilution of dewatered cellulose pulp that maintains a consistency of 20-30% or greater. By shredding of the pulp to a finely divided dry-granulate, dilution to a homogeneous consistency in the medium consistency range can take place exclusively through hydrodynamic effects from the addition of dilution fluid. The dilution fluid is added to granulate at a position at which granulate is in free fall in a standpipe and above a level Liqlev of diluted pulp in the standpipe. A number of nozzles are arranged around the periphery of the stand pipe, directed in towards the center of the stand pipe, obliquely downwards in the direction of fall of the granulate. It is possible through this simplified procedure to avoid completely the conventional dilution screws, and this reduces the investment costs and operating costs, while at the same time unnecessary mechanical influence of the pulp fibers can be avoided.

Abstract: Devices for application of agents to the cutting mechanism of paper shredders are disclosed. Maintenance and lubrication can be performed by applying lubrication agents to the cutting mechanism of a paper shredder without requiring disassembly of the paper shredder. The agents can also include scented agents and decomposing agents or a combination thereof. Lubrication sheets are disclosed for applying agents to the cutting mechanism of paper shredders. A holder is disclosed for retaining lubrication sheets within proximity of a paper shredder. Paper shredders are also disclosed having various means for identifying when lubrication is needed and/or when the cutting mechanism of the paper shredder is lubricated by a lubrication sheet. Paper shredders having a reservoir of lubricant for delivery to the cutting mechanism of the paper shredder are also disclosed. Such reservoirs may be removable. Cap designs allowing use of a removable reservoir with the paper shredders are also disclosed.

Abstract: An apparatus for collecting, processing, and recycling kitchen scraps is provided. Kitchen scraps are thrown into a throw-in conduit provided on each floor of a building and transferred to a delivery conduit by a flushing device so as to reach a kitchen scraps collection device and be processed thereby. After the kitchen scraps are processed by the kitchen scraps collection device, a liquid removed from the kitchen scraps is further processed by a grease interception device so that oil is separated from the liquid. Thus, the apparatus collects, processes collectively, and performs water/oil separation on kitchen scraps.
