Abstract: Disclosed is a long-tape deposition apparatus for depositing specific substance on superconductive tape. The apparatus includes a drum having a helically-shaped guide groove formed on the outer surface thereof and a strip of tape wound along the guide groove and disposed in a vacuum chamber, a deposition source disposed to be distanced from the drum, a supply reel and a retreat reel disposed at respective sides of a shaft of the drum for supply and retreat of the tape, respectively, in which when the drum rotates, specific substance from the deposition source is deposited on the surface of the tape and at the same time the tape is continuously supplied and retreated by the supply reel and the retreat reel, and a slip-roller installed to extend along longitudinal direction of the drum, to be near the circumferential surface of the drum and to protrude from the outer surface of the drum, the slip-roller which rotates along moving direction of the tape enabling the tape to slip over the guide groove of the drum.

  • Patent number: 7163172
Abstract: A reel driving device includes a reel stand for driving a reel to rotate; and a latch including at least one contact portion contactable with the reel. The reel stand includes a convexed and concaved portion. The latch includes a claw portion for, when contacting the convexed and concaved portion, stopping a rotation of the convexed and concaved portion. While the reel stand rotates in a first direction, the latch moves in such a direction that the claw portion contacts the convexed and concaved portion by a rotation of the reel stand being conveyed to the at least one contact portion. While the reel stand rotates in a second direction, the latch moves in such a direction that the claw portion is separated from the convexed and concaved portion by a rotation of the reel stand being conveyed to the at least one contact portion.

  • Patent number: 6742641
Abstract: A rotational driving apparatus of a magnetic device, a clutch mechanism or a speed change clutch mechanism is provided selectively in a path for transmitting a rotation from a capstan motor to a feed reel or a take-up reel. The clutch mechanism decelerates the rotation of the motor at a first reduction ratio, and transmits the resultant rotation to a change-over gear. The speed change clutch mechanism has a first transmission shaft, a pulley gear, a constant torque transmission member, a speed change output gear, speed change intermediate gear and a speed change movable gear. The speed change intermediate gear and speed change movable gear are mounted on a second transmission shaft provided close to a first transmission shaft, and transmit the rotation of the pulley gear to the speed change output gear via a constant torque transmission member, or directly with the speed of the rotation changed.

  • Patent number: 6550711
Abstract: A magnetic tape apparatus has an intermediate gear (19) meshed with an idler gear (22) which is releasably meshed with both a pay-off reel table (2) and a roll-up reel table (3), a drive gear (31) rotatably driven by a capstan motor (10), a driven gear (32) releasably meshed with the drive gear (31) by way of a friction plate, a clutch mechanism (20), and a speed increasing mechanism (27). The speed increasing mechanism (27) has a movable rotary body (37) rotatably mounted around a support shaft (36) and adapted to reciprocate along an axis of the support shaft (36) by means of the clutch mechanism (20). The movable rotary body (37) is provided with a small diametered gear (38) and a large diametered gear (39). In a fast feed mode and a rewind mode, the small diametered gear (38) is meshed with the drive gear (31) while the large diametered gear (39) is meshed with the intermediate gear (19).

  • Patent number: 6431484
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved friction type of power transmission mechanism for driving a reel support in a VTR wherein the power is transmitted from the motor to the reel support via the follower pulley, which is sandwiched and clamped between a base disk and an annular plate. The follower pulley has a first friction ring sandwiched between the base disk and the lower flange surface of the follower pulley and a second friction ring sandwiched between the annular plate and the upper flange surface of the follower pulley. With this arrangement an increased torque can be produced without causing excessive abrasion. The diameter of the circular opening of one of the first and second friction rings is equal to or larger than the outer diameter of the other friction ring. This has the effect of saving the material of friction ring.

  • Publication number: 20010035471
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved clutch device for transmitting the motive power from an associated follower pulley to a selected reel support via an associated idler gear in a videotape recorder. It comprises a top clutch fixed to the top of the axle of the follower pulley, and a coupling gear urged by an associated coiled spring apart from the top clutch and fitted around the top clutch. The top clutch has a plurality of nail pieces integrally connected to and descending from its circumference. Each nail piece has two ramp-shaped indents formed on its opposite sides. The coupling gear has rib pieces integrally connected to and descending from its circumference. Each rib piece has a ramp-shaped indent inside, thereby allowing one or the other ramp-shaped indent of each nail piece to engage with the counter ramp-shaped indent of each rib piece while the top clutch is made to descend in the annular space of the coupling gear, thus preventing further descent of said top clutch.
