Manually Operated Patents (Class 242/397.4)
  • Patent number: 10556771
Abstract: A hose guide for a hose reel deck box is provided. More specifically, the hose guide is a one piece, or unitary body, component. The unitary body hose guide is structured to snap-fit to one or two travel bars that are part of the unitary body of the hose reel deck box housing assembly. The hose guide preferably includes two semi-enclosed passages that are structured to be slidably coupled to the travel bars.

  • Patent number: 8839814
Abstract: An improved wall mount hose reel of a shape and design allowing preassembly and stacking in a nesting fashion of multiple units. The wall mount hose reel employs a frame for support of a garden hose to be wound into a coil by use of a hose reel spool. A crank handle is provided on the frame and attached to the hose reel spool for winding. An inlet/outlet swivel union fluid conduit is provided in the A-frame. The inlet fluid conduit is adapted for attachment to a water source, located on the outer surface of the A-frame, and adapted for coupling with the outlet conduit. The frame further supports a storage shelf and a rotatable levelwind assembly.

  • Patent number: 7959101
Abstract: The present invention relates to hose reel carts for handling and storage of flexible hoses, such as garden or air hoses. The hose reel cart is primarily constructed of plastic components having a centrally rotatable spool for winding of the flexible hose, a frame for supporting the spool and a multi-position crank arm assembly allowing the consumer to place the crank handle in a lowered position or a raised position. The crank remotely drives the spool, for winding the hose, through a series of gears located within the crank arm assembly. The device may further include a reciprocating guide assembly that operates during rotation of the spool to rewind the hose into a compact configuration.

  • Patent number: 7438250
Abstract: Among the several aspects and features of the present invention may be noted the provision of an improved portable hose reel cart having a low-entry point for recoiling a hose in conjunction with an elevated hand crank for use in rotation of the reel. In an additional embodiment, the elevated hand crank is also used for movement of a level-wind hose guide for positioning of the flexible hose around the hose reel. The present invention also provides an enclosure that includes injection molded panels having integrally formed connectors adapted to cooperate with injection molded as well as extruded panels for assembly of a hose reel enclosure.

  • Patent number: 7111803
Abstract: A cable winch system comprising a driven drum for winding and unwinding cables, a cable guide including two parallel members spaced-apart to allow for the cable to freely travel in between the members. The cable guide is pivotally attached to a geared oscillation device which cyclically guides the cable to facilitate evenly distributed winding and unwinding of the cable along one end of the drum to an opposite end of the drum. The system is operated remotely, away from the travel of the cable in a non-interfering relationship with the oscillation of the cable guide. The system can be operated hydraulically or pneumatically. A shaft with a handle on one end and the opposite end connected to a universal joint which in turn is connected to the geared oscillation device allows for the remote operation of the system.

  • Patent number: 6976649
Abstract: A hose cart combining the features of an off-set handle, to permit any easier retrieval of paid out hose, a hose tracker, to permit hose to be neatly wound onto a reel, and a storage system comprising a protective housing, to provide storage and protection for a hose kept within, is provided. The invention includes the use of a crank to turn a reel which causes paid out hose to be drawn into the protective box onto a reel. The use of a plurality of gears permits the crank to be offset from the center of the reel, such that it is elevated to a more convenient cranking position. Further, the use of gears permits the same movement of the crank, which causes hose to be collected, causes a hose guide to move laterally, along the axis of the reel, such that hose is neatly layered onto the reel.
