Including Particular Joining Structure Or Control Patents (Class 242/475.4)
  • Patent number: 10294587
Abstract: A method for operating a work station of a textile machine that produces or rewinds yarn in a normal operation, wherein the normal operation is interrupted. The method includes performing at least one service step for restoring the normal operation, wherein a service result is specified for the service step. A standard service operation is carried out with a service device until the service result has been achieved or a predetermined number of failed attempts has been reached. When the predetermined number of failed standard service operation attempts has been reached, an extended service operation is carried out.

  • Patent number: 6938849
Abstract: Device and process for the automatic elimination of the defective start and end portions from packages of yarn fed to the units of an automatic winder using the same members thereof for reattaching the ends eliminating said portion from them, by suction with the suction nozzles for capturing and moving the ends, for a predetermined length and then joining its ends according to the normal reattachment of the yarn.

  • Patent number: 6688363
Abstract: A tail for adhering the tailing edge of a first roll of tape that is being fed to an application device to the leading edge of a second roll of tape without stopping the tapes includes a bulge which is located in the tail and has an adhesive coating on each side. A first protective element located on the tail releasably covers the adhesive coating on one side of the bulge and a second protective element located on the other side of the bulge releasably covers the adhesive coating on the other side of the bulge when the tail is wrapped onto a roll base. The leading edge of the second roll of tape is wrapped around the tape from the first roll to form a loose knot and then is threaded through a pair of pincher rollers through which the first roll of tape is fed. Thus, when the bulge passes through the pincher rollers it becomes adhesively attached to the leading edge of the second roll and the knot is tightened around the second roll and a mechanical joint is formed between the tapes.

  • Publication number: 20040011912
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for automatically changing threadlike materials in a thread processing machine, comprising connecting means to connect a first thread (100) being guided from a supply to said thread processing machine, with a second thread (200) and cutting means (127) to cut said first thread through between the connecting point of the threads and the supply. The problem of the present device is, that the thread (100, 200) does not stay in a position to be selected after it has been cut through and clamped. Therefore the device (1) according to the invention is provided for keeping the first thread (100), originating from the supply, within reach of the connecting means (8, 9) after it has been cut through, in order to keep said first thread (100) in a position.

  • Patent number: 6439499
Abstract: A traversing yarn guide (5) that is moved back and forth produces cross winding of yarn on a bobbin at each winding head of a textile spinning or winding machine in order to wind cross-wound bobbins. After a yarn interruption, an auxiliary yarn guide (4) in an active position keeps the yarn in a position that is raised out of the traversing yarn guide (5). In a rest position (40′), the auxiliary yarn guide (4) does not influence the yarn and the traversing yarn guide (5) can grasp and take the yarn to be wound from the auxiliary yarn guide (4).

  • Publication number: 20020074445
Abstract: A method of winding the yarn traveling at a work station of a spinning bobbin winding machine or of a bobbin winding machine from a yarn source onto a take-up bobbin (4). After each yarn interruption, the yarn end is unwound from the take-up bobbin (4), a yarn joinder reconnects the yarn source and the take-up bobbin (4) and the winding process is then continued if a tolerable yarn joining location is present. Upon the occurrence of each yarn interruption, the amount of yarn wound since the last yarn joinder is determined. If such amount of yarn is determined to be less than a predetermined amount of yarn, a sufficient amount of yarn is unwound and separated from the take-up bobbin (4) to include the last-occurring yarn joining location in the separated yarn section. This results in an optical improvement in the quality of the finished textile product.

  • Patent number: 6402079
Abstract: The winding station of an automatic bobbin winding machine has a splicing device (7) for the connection of yarn ends following a yarn break. Wet splices are created by the introduction of a liquid. A capacitive sensor (13) is arranged downstream of the splicing device (7), by means of which a dielectric change is detected when the moistened yarn passes. The capacitive sensor (13) is connected with an evaluation unit (12), which generates a signal when the change falls below a predeterminable threshold value DSW (32) because of an insufficient water content. The signal trigger a cleaning cut. The signals are used for monitoring of the yarn quality and monitoring the ability of the splicing device (7) to function. The invention permits the creation of wet splices of very low moisture content, without causing malfunctions in the winding process or reducing the yarn quality.

  • Patent number: 6199360
Abstract: A device for pneumatic knotless splicing of ends of thread or yarn. There is provided a cylindrical cavity, which is connected to a source of compressed air. In the cylindrical cavity, a piston rod is displaceable in both directions. A piston rod is actuated by an actuation lever, from a cam track of a drum. The track is divided at one section into two parallel branches. A first branch is used during rotation of the drum in a forward direction to displacement of the rod in one direction. A second branch is used during rotation of the drum in a return direction to displacement of the rod in the opposite direction.
