  • Patent number: 8459585
Abstract: A transport system may be provided for transporting spools of flexible material, such as wire or tubing, about a construction site and for dispensing the material from a spool rotatingly mounted on an angled support of the transport system. The angled support may form an acute angle at its lower end with a central member of a mobile assembly and an acute angle at its upper end and a central member of an upper assembly, so that the angled support and central members are vertically coplanar along a longitudinal centerline of the transport system. In this manner, more spools of material may be carried between the extents of the central members than would be possible if the angled supports were perpendicular to the central members. Furthermore, the angled supports may resist racking forces resulting from longitudinal movement of the system and from resistance to dispensing of material from the spools.

  • Patent number: 8403250
Abstract: A hose reel device is disclosed for supporting and transporting a hose. The hose reel device comprises a frame. A support beam extends within the frame. A spool includes a hub interposed between a first flange plate and a second flange plate for winding the hose on the spool. The hub of the spool rotatably engages the support beam for rotating the spool relative to the frame. The hub of the spool and the frame define a perpendicular angle. A wheel rotatably engages the frame for transporting the hose reel device over a surface in an oblique position and pivoting the spool between a horizontal position and a vertical position relative to the surface. The horizontal position defines a first optimal position for winding the hose about the spool. The vertical position defines a second optimal position for propelling a fluid between a holding tank and a storage tank.

The cable pulling system of the disclosure can pull a cable from a cable drum loaded on a trailer to an underground duct without unloading the cable drum from the trailer. The cable pulling system comprises a cable drum rolling device configured to rotate the cable drum, a cable guider configured to guide the cable from the cable drum to the conduit, and a caterpillar configured to pull the cable guided through the cable guider from the cable drum and to convey the cable to an underground duct.

Abstract: Methods and devices for loading, deploying, and receiving concertina-wire barriers along paths with varying travel or paths located at a distance to the access track of a transport vehicle. The first method includes loading a concertina-wire coil arrangement directly into carry tines and adjusting the tine tilt during deployment to reflect the changing gradient. An anchored portion of the wire stretches each coil longitudinally into its operative configuration and position as the transport vehicle advances. A second method involves a generally analogous process in order to deploy the barrier at distance from the access route. Retrieval for both methods is accomplished by inserting the carry tines in the space circumscribed by the deployed coils so that as the transport vehicle advances the coil arrangement is removed from its deployment location and pressed together onto the tines thereby being disposed for the next deployment.

Abstract: A hose reel system for winding a liquid manure hose. The hose reel includes a spool pivoted in alignment with the wheels and axles of the system to allow for even winding of the hose on a spool. The spool is provided with curved domes on either, end and a protective bar to prevent the hose from winding beyond the ends of the spool. Pivoting the spool in alignment with the axle allows for a more even winding and unwinding of the hose, thereby reducing torsion, kinks and other damage to the hose during the rolling and unrolling processes.
