Abstract: An automatic sensing and outputting device for an object mainly includes a housing, a control portion and an output unit. The housing has a surface on which a fixing rod is disposed, and accommodates a driving mechanism. The control portion is disposed at a predetermined position in the housing. A control circuit board in the control portion includes a sensor and a zeroing sensor for object output sensing. The output unit includes a reel, which engages with and moved by the driving mechanism in the housing, and a pressing plate, which normally and slightly presses against the reel through an elastic member.

Abstract: A spooling tool for paying out a fiber optic cable prewound on a spool region of a drop box or on an associated spool, when installing a cable at a user's premises. In one embodiment, the tool includes a base plate and a stud projecting from one side of the plate. An elongate arbor has one end secured to the stud in such a manner as to support the arbor perpendicular to the base plate. The arbor is dimensioned to pass through an axial passage in the box so that the box pivots on the arbor when the cable is unwound by an installer. A cap mechanism at the opposite end of the arbor retains the drop box on the arbor, and applies enough drag on the box to inhibit it from free wheeling on the arbor.

Abstract: The disclosed towel dispensing system and method may be used in combination with washstation having a washbasin and a cabinet disposed substantially below the washbasin or alternatively in a standalone manner. The towel dispensing system may include a towel dispenser capable of dispensing a towel in a cantilevered manner. A towel loading device supplies paper to a towel dispenser from at least one roll of paper and allows the paper rolls to be conveniently and securely stored and loaded.

Abstract: A rolled-print-medium holder device includes an axial member, a holding member, an outer fitting portion, an inner fitting portion, and a weld portion. The holding member is fixed to at least one of both axial ends of the axial member and holds both sides of a rolled print medium. The outer fitting portion is provided at either one of the axial member and the holding member. The outer fitting portion has an inner peripheral surface. The inner fitting portion is provided at the other one of the axial member and the holding member. The inner fitting portion has an outer peripheral surface. The inner fitting portion is fitted into the outer fitting portion. The weld portion is provided at at least one of the inner fitting portion and the outer fitting portion. The weld portion at least fixes the outer peripheral surface to the inner peripheral surface by ultrasonic welding.

Abstract: A roller assembly in a wipe material dispenser has at least one pair of cooperating rollers arranged to feed the wipe material. The roller assembly comprises a first and a second roller, wherein each roller comprises a central longitudinal core on which is mounted a number of parallel and axially spaced discs. Each roller has regions of reduced diameter between adjacent discs, and the first and the second roller are located so that the axial location of the spaced discs on the first roller coincides with the regions of reduced diameter between adjacent discs on the second roller. A roller suitable for use in the roller assembly and a dispenser including such an assembly are also provided.

Abstract: A spooler for taking up a pouch package web output from a pouch package web source and a method for management of a pouch package web output from said source. In embodiments, the spooler comprises a support structure, a rotatable spindle secured with respect to the support structure, a drive apparatus in power-transmission relationship with the spindle for powering spindle rotation and control apparatus. A spool may be mounted on the spindle. Pouch package web output from the pouch package web source is wound onto the spool, providing a convenient and efficient means for managing the pouch package web.

A cover is provided with a drive that can move the cover. A control unit is provided to control the drive for the cover. The cover is closed in a first operational state and is open in a second operational state. The roll of material, that is supported by the roll changer, has a first rotational speed or web speed when the cover is in the first, closed operational state. In the second, cover opened, operational state, the roll of material also has a second rotational or web speed which is greater than zero. A method for controlling a device on a roll changer is also disclosed.

Abstract: Embodiments of an assembly for securing a stringer to a substrate are provided. The stringer assembly includes a stringer and a mandrel positioned within a channel defined in the stringer. A plurality of strips are positioned within an opening of the mandrel, and a substrate layer, such as aircraft skin, is positioned adjacent to the stringer. During application of the substrate layer to the stringer, the mandrel and plurality of strips support the stringer.

Abstract: This invention is directed to an implant having a coil for embolizing a vascular site, such as aneurysm. The coil has a specific three-dimensional shape that is achieved by winding the coil around a mandrel in a specific pattern and then heat setting the coil and the mandrel, another aspect of the invention. The three-dimensional shape resembles unclosed mobius loops. Also provided are methods of making the coil and methods of embolizing vascular site.

Abstract: Disclosed is a printer including a paper feeder for accommodating a rolled paper to be pulled out and recorded thereon. The feeder has a container section to set the roll, in which first and second support walls are arranged to rotatably support the roll. While paper from the roll is taken out, a contact force produced by the roll against the first support wall is kept larger than that in a stationary state, and a contact force produced by the roll against second support wall is kept smaller than that in the stationary state. A friction coefficient between the second support wall and the roll is larger than one between first support wall and the roll, the roll being in slidable contact with the first and second support walls. Therefore, when the recording is started, an impact force to the roll can be alleviated, resulting in reducing unevenness in image in a feeding direction of the paper.

Abstract: A fishing line package and dispenser is disclosed. An illustrative embodiment of the fishing line package and dispenser includes a housing, a fishing line spool provided in the housing, a fishing line wound on the fishing line spool, a display tab extending from the housing and an attachment tab carried by the display tab and adapted to detachably engage the housing. A method of transferring fishing line to a reel of a fishing rod is also disclosed.

Abstract: A ribbon roller is fixed in a ribbon cartridge via a fixing element. The fixing element includes an accommodation means and a fastening element. The accommodation means fixes a tab of the ribbon roller, and the fastening element engages the ribbon cartridge. When transporting the ribbon cartridge, the fixing element is capable of preventing the ribbon roller from rotating so as to prevent the ribbon from wrinkling and affecting printing quality.

Abstract: Apparatus for dispensing paper from rolls which feeds continuously, roll to roll, and does not require extra procedure to bring stub roll into position. The apparatus holds and positions at least first and second rolls of paper with respect to each other, dispensing paper from the first and second rolls simultaneously when the first roll reduces to a predetermined diameter of paper, positioning the depleted first roll for replacement without the necessity of removing the second roll; and dispensing from the second and replacement rolls simultaneously when the second roll reduces to a predetermined diameter of paper. The apparatus also has a proximity sensor, which senses when a hand is placed near the dispenser, and thereupon dispenses a set amount of towel. The dispenser dissipates static charges to a local ground such as a high impedance wall surface on which the dispenser is mounted.

Abstract: In most existing toilet paper dispensers a person must compress the spindle by grasping it and pushing, or pulling, to compress it within itself, in order to remove the empty toilet paper roll. This invention uses a rod or plunger that compresses the spring loaded spindle and permits easier access and removal of the empty toilet paper roll.

Abstract: A multiple roll holder unit has a magazine in which rolls are stacked, and an associated roll holder having retaining arms moveable on opposite sides of a roll holding area. Actuation of a transfer mechanism having upper and lower cup members hinged at one side with each other causes a transfer of a lowermost one of the rolls in the magazine to the roll holding area as the retaining arms are retracted and set back following the motion of the cup members, releasing at the same time a depleted roll possibly held by the roll holder.

The device has a clamp on its frame's lower surface (22) to attach it to the string trimmer's shaft, and elements (44A, 44B) on its frame's upper surface (20) to retain the spare spool of trimmer line. These elements use the spool's notched indexing lugs (34A, 34B) and spring (42) to retain the spare spool. The spare spool is placed into the device by compressing the spool's spring (42) and engaging the spool's notched indexing lugs (34A, 34B) onto pins (28A, 28B) located on curved slotted elements (24A, 25B) located on the upper surface of the device's frame (20).

Abstract: A welding wire holder includes a container body having an annular space defined therein for receiving therein a coil of welding wire, and a coil keeper for keeping the coil of welding wire stably in position against floating when the welding wire is pulled out from the container body in an upward direction. The coil keeper is comprised of a layer of spheroidal members spread over the entire area of an upper surface of the coil of welding wire received in the annular space. The spheroidal members thus spread produce a distributed load acting on the upper surface of the coil of welding wire with uniform distribution of load.

Abstract: A dispenser for strip materials, e.g. hook and loop fastener material, which automatically finds formations in a continuous fastener strip during its dispensing and, at that point in the dispensing procedure, produces a resistance to the remaining supply, that enables parting of the lead unit from the remaining supply, thus dispensing a discrete unit. The dispenser has a receptacle to hold the supply of fastener strip material; it employs a retarding device to provide light drag against the motion of the strip as the leading strip unit moves from the dispenser in response to pull by a user. A detent downstream of the retarding device engages a corresponding formation in the strip material to resist movement of the remaining strip material, so that the strip ruptures along a line of weakness under a user's tension. Also disclosed are dispensable fastener strips of various forms, some advantageously formed by use of needled bat, and methods of forming the fastening strips.

Abstract: A paper towel dispense, and a method for its use, comprising a foot pedal for hands-free rotation of a paper towel roll so that individual portions of toweling thereon are made available one at a time to a person activating the dispenser by depressing the foot pedal. The operator would only be required to use his or her hands to touch a portion of the clean paper towel offered through the housing and pull on it so as to separate the offered toweling from the remainder of the continuous length of toweling on the roll. It is contemplated for application to include products other than paper toweling which are dispensed from a roll. It is contemplated for paper towels to be dispensed in response to either a mechanical foot pedal or a foot operated electrical control circuit.

Abstract: A toilet paper holder wherein the center cylindrically shaped housing acts to both hold the paper on one of its sides and to have two opposite flexible outwardly biased end members at its ends. Each of the flexible end members has a solid outwardly projecting tab that is rotatably retained within recesses of a conventional vertical stationary toilet roll mount. By making the housing for the toilet paper and the toilet paper holder the same, the conventional separately distinct roll holder component is eliminated. All of the material used for the housing, its flexible end members and the projecting tabs should be made of an inexpensive, biodegradable material such as cardboard.

The dispenser includes a dispenser body for containing the paper towel roll which may be mounted to a supporting surface such as a wall. A unique feeder assembly is attached to the dispenser body for dispensing an end portion of the continuous roll. The feeder assembly includes a feeder body having a back wall, first and a second side walls attached on each side edge and a bottom wall attached to the bottom edge of the back and side walls. A first aperture is located on the bottom wall of the feeder body and a face plate having a second aperture overlapping the first aperture also is attached to the feeder body. The pair of overlapping apertures are biased against one another for receiving and dispensing an individual paper towel. In the preferred embodiment, a removable flange attaches the feeder assembly to the dispenser body. The flange includes a locking mechanism for lockingly engaging the flange onto the dispenser body.

Abstract: A length of flexible cord is arranged to support a pair of stop elements below a hanging loop. The stop elements are of a size and shape to pass individually through the hollow cylindrical core of a roll of paper towels or toilet tissues but, when suspended in side-by-side relation at the bottom of a vertically oriented roll, are collectively too large to pass through the core and thus serve to support the roll in vertical orientation. A hanging loop at the top of the roll can be suspended over any convenient means, such as a hook, doorknob or the like, so that the holder is easily portable to a location in which the towels or tissues will be used. A section of the cord hangs downward over the exterior of the roll and serves to keep the roll from unwinding by gravity, and also provides a source of resistance against which individual sheets may be torn from the roll. This outer cord element may hang by gravity or may be engaged with the stop elements and thus held snugly against the exterior of the roll.
