Publication number: 20150048216Abstract: A cladding element is formed from chain mail for cladding forms having different radii with the chain mail. For this purpose, the chain mail has at least one cut, which is connected at the edges thereof or to the edges of a further cut in order to clad the form. The chain mail has a running direction, in which the chain mail can be stretched to a substantially smaller degree, or cannot be stretched at all, compared to a direction running transversely thereto, preferably at a right angle. Because the chain mail with the running direction is arranged along an arc of the form specified by the radius and has indentations transversely to the running direction, wherein the connection takes place particularly along the edges of the cuts, three-dimensional round forms such as spheres or annular shapes or the segments thereof are clad efficiently.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 27, 2013Publication date: February 19, 2015Applicants: Ziegler Arbeitsschutz GmbHInventor: Jürgen Ziegler

Patent number: 8156721Abstract: A transport indexing chain for a food-packaging machine is made of two different materials in order to provide the most optimal result of a drive chain that resists wear and tear and thus reduces elongation of the chain over time, and which also provides a drive indexing chain that resists bacterial infection. In order to satisfy the first objective of providing a chain that resists wear and elongation of the drive chain, the parts thereof that remain exposed to greasing or lubrication, and thus are resistant to rusting, are made of the same prior-art material of nickel-plated carbon steel. These parts are: The bushings, the rollers, and the pivot rods or pins. The remaining parts, namely the links or side plates and the clamping attachments, are made of stainless steel, whereby prevention of bacterial infection is substantially achieved without increased wear.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 2009Date of Patent: April 17, 2012Inventor: Moshe Epstein

Patent number: 7124477Abstract: A ball chain assembly may be used to form tessellated patterns of ball chains. The ball chains include a series of balls and intermediate links of a breadth less than the breadth of said balls. A chain connector of one-piece construction defines a circular array of ball-receiving sockets. Each of the sockets are sized to receive a ball of one of said chains. A ball of the chain can be inserted into one of the sockets of the chain connector where a link of the inserted ball passes through the slot extending from the socket, such that a chain can be connected to each of the sockets.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 2005Date of Patent: October 24, 2006Inventor: Paul E. Patent number: 6908065Abstract: A method for weaving beads together in order to form a textured chamber comprised of woven strings of beads and products generated thereby is shown. A plurality of bead strings, referred to herein as chains, are used which are comprised of beads connected by strings. Each bead has spacing corresponding to and functionally working with the spacing of the joining strands of string. There is near identity as far as bead spacing and bead size in the preferred embodiment between the multiple hanging chains and the single locking chain of beads. Two to three beads of each hanging chain are skipped, while preferably each bead after one or more initial strands of the locking chain are used in order to form a structure which has flexibility but strong contact. When multiple (three or more) separate chains are inter-woven with appropriate spacing, then the resulting structure is expanded outward to form a tube. This tube can be maintained by proper spacing and by locking the beads at either end.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2003Date of Patent: June 21, 2005Inventor: Gregory Ritchie

Patent number: 4872306Abstract: A chain mesh for easy installation comprises a plurality of running lengths of chain. In one embodiment a plurality of vertical running lengths are positioned in parallel spaced relationship. A plurality of substantially horizontal running lengths are then positioned closely adjacent the plurality of vertical running lengths, and then the points of crossing are interconnected by connecting links therebetween. Each connecting link is normally open, and then closed after being installed between a respective vertical link and a close horizontal link. The connecting links permit a flexibility between the vertical and the horizontal chains, but substantially retain the cross parallel chains in such relationship. This crossed relationship may have the respective plurality of chains substantially perpendicular to each other, or they may be at an oblique angle to each other.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 1988Date of Patent: October 10, 1989Assignee: Cooper Industries, Inc.Inventors: Gerald H. Patent number: 4695015Abstract: A spiral wire, comprising adjacent thread spirals (1) positioned in pairs with loops thereof interlapping to form transverse rows of loops in the wire, and linking threads (2) inserted in the rows of loops. The opposite ends of the spiral wire are interconnected by means of a seam thread (2A) into an endless wire. In order to make it easier to insert the seam thread, a clearance (X) is provided between the interlapping loops (1Aa) of the two spirals (1A) forming the seam position, which clearance extends in the direction of the seam thread so that the loops are able to yield with respect to each other in that direction. The spirals of the seam portion are preferably made of a thinner thread, a thread having a flat cross-section or interconnected with a sparser spacing of the loops.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 1986Date of Patent: September 22, 1987Assignee: Tamfelt Oy AbInventor: Ari Salminen

Patent number: 4673015Abstract: A chain net comprises a plurality of warp strands (1.1) with mutually equal links (1.2) which at intersections lock round links (1.5) of weft strands (1.4) having mutually equal links. The links of the warp strands have dimensions such that they first allow the insertion of weft strands and, after plastic or elastic deformation, lock links of the weft strands. The plastic deformation is provided by elongating the warp strands. The elastic deformation is provided by the warp strand links being first expanded to allow the insertion of weft strands, after which the warp links are elastically re-deformed for locking round weft links.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 1984Date of Patent: June 16, 1987Inventor: Olof I.
