Abstract: A kit containing sufficient pieces and parts for use by a do-it-yourself automobile engine lubricating oil drainage and disposable operation; the kit containing a wire stand, flat in the kit package, but easily bendable into a stand, having an elevated part for holding a flexible bag in position under an engine crankcase to receive oil drained therefrom, the bag resting mainly upon a garage floor or driveway surface rather than being supported by the stand so that the weight of the drained oil may be contained. The kit may have several oil receiving bags, one stand, clips for temporarily securing the open end of the bag to the stand and ties with which to close the bag for garbage disposal of the bag and its contained used oil.

Abstract: An improved bag holder and collector for receiving grass clippings, leaves, etc., in a top hopper for discharge into a collection bag removably mounted below the hopper. The hopper is formed by a pair of downwardly inwardly sloping end walls and a pair of vertical side walls which terminate with a rectangular-shaped horizontal bottom wall. A circular discharge opening is provided in the center of the bottom wall, with the remaining portion of the bottom wall forming a flat shelf area surrounding the opening. A cylindrical collar is mounted beneath the bottom hopper wall concentric with the discharge opening. Clamping ring means removably mounts a collection bag on the collar for receiving the materials discharged through the hopper opening. The hopper is supported between a pair of upstanding end panels having wheels attached to the bottoms thereof for movably supporting the hopper.

Abstract: A device for holding a flexible plastic refuse bag comprises a continuous rectangular bag-supporting loop and a coextensive annular clamping frame which snaps in place over the loop, gripping the bag in place. A flat scoop is attached to the clamping frame, and a handle on the opposite side from the scoop enables easy manipulation of the device. A mounting sleeve receives the handle for wall-mounting.

Abstract: A bag holder having outer and inner body portions which, as a result of their conformal nature and close cooperation, adequately support a bag while retaining the mouth of the bag in the open position, thereby rendering the interior of the bag accessible, by way of a passageway through the inner body portion, for the deposition of articles. The bag holder is directly mounted onto a suitable surface in a conventional manner. In one embodiment, the bag holder is hingedly attached to a mounting plate which is mounted to a suitable surface in a conventional manner.

Abstract: An improved material handling apparatus or container for transporting, storing, and unloading a load of powder, granular, particulate or other fluidizable material. The container has a pallet base which includes a discharge opening and an inclined load supporting deck with the discharge opening located at the lowermost portion of the deck at one side of the pallet whereby substantially all the fluidizable material in the container may be readily unloaded. The container includes a porous cloth diaphragm held in place overlying the deck by means of a retainer spline inserted into a groove in the pallet along with the diaphragm in such manner that the spline self-locks in the groove upon tension loading being applied to the diaphragm thus preventing the diaphragm from pulling free of the pallet during fluidization of the load.

Abstract: The invention provides a container for waste materia, particularly but not exclusively for paper waste, comprising, a casing forming a container for waste material having structure defining an opening for entry to the container, a lid movably mounted on the casing adjacent the opening for movement between an open position allowing waste to be put into the container opening, and a closed position closing the opening of the container, the lid being formed so that in its closed position it extends into the container beyond the extremity of said container structure to occupy a volume within the container at least equal to that of an item of waste for which the container is intended, and means for releasably retaining the lid in its closed position, whereby each time waste is inserted through the opening and the lid closed, the waste in the container is progressively compressed and a space is created for the reception of further waste when the lid is next opened.

Abstract: A device for holding and supporting the mouth or open end of a flexible bag such as a plastic trash bag or the like in an open condition, which includes relatively rigid elongated members, one of which is pivotally connected to the other at an intermediate location, projections on the members in position to engage a bag adjacent to the mouth thereof to open the bag mouth, and a device connecting said elongated members operable to maintain the projections engaged with the mouth of the bag under tension to maintain the bag in an open condition. The invention is also characterized by being adjustable for use by left and right handed persons and by being constructed so that the bag can be made to extend in either opposite direction therefrom.

Abstract: A device for supporting a limp disposable container in a generally open position to receive material and for preventing the container from collapsing as material is inserted therein has rim means for releasably engaging portions of the container peripherally about an opening in the container and for supporting these portions in an open position, second means defining a base for providing stability for the device relative to a surface upon which the device is positioned, strut means interconnecting the rim means and the second means for maintaining a desired spaced relationship therebetween and mounting means for securing the rim means and the second means to the strut means to provide a rigid support device for the limp container. The device may be provided in unassembled kit form of primarily straight tube sections suitable for assembly in an easy and facile manner.

Abstract: A bag filling device for receiving a plastic bag or the like therein and holding the bag in an open position for filling the bag with various types of articles such as lawn cuttings, leaves, trash etc. . . The bag filling device provides a convenient way of holding various sizes of plastic bags in an open position until the bag is completely filled. When the plastic bag is filled, the bag can be quickly removed from the device so that the top of the bag may be closed and tied.

Abstract: A manual trash compactor that comprises a housing adapted to receive therein a bag having upstanding walls terminating in an open top for depositing the trash, and formed having a base with vertically extending panels extending upwardly from the base and terminating in an upper open end such that a rectangular configuration is formed to gain access to the housing. Pressure applying means for compacting the trash within the bag is provided with weighting means associated with the pressure applying means to increase the weight thereof to facilitate the compacting of the trash within the bag. Retaining means for releasably securing the open top of the bag within the housing during operation of the pressure applying means is utilized and comprises a plate operatively associated with each one of the panels to provide retention of the open top of the walls of the bag in fixed relationship to each one of the panels.

Abstract: A specially configured bag holder for releasably securing a trash bag or the like. The bag holder has a hoop with an annular shoulder for carrying the bag, a spring-biased cord for releasably retaining the bag on the hoop, a rigidifying structure including a U-shaped brace with rigidifying arms and a mounting bar which engage the hoop, and at least one removable bracket assembly mounted upon a support structure such as a wheeled cart, post or wall. The removable bracket assembly includes an upright support lug and a fastening assembly for securing the lug to the support structure while simultaneously spacing the lug from the support structure to define a pocket between the support structure and the lug to receive the mounting bar.

Abstract: The mail slot pouch assembly comprises a supporting bracket which is fixed to planar surfaces surrounding a mail slot in a building door, a framework and a transparent plastic bag secured to the framework, and a framework being removably supported by the bracket and positioned to receive mail therethrough into the bag to prevent the same from falling on the building floor adjacent the door.

Abstract: A bag holder of the type wherein a bag mouth is to be received and supported by a closed-figure frame of variable shape, the frame being made up of two elements, one being adapted to be attached at one side to a support and the other at an opposite side having handle means for the application of traction to the frame to bring it to a bag-opening configuration in which the elements are oppositely bowed so that their middle portions are spaced apart, the two elements lying face to face in a bag-closing configuration and being articulated together at their ends, and is characterized by the elements being biased to a bowed bag-closing configuration in which both are bowed in one direction.

Abstract: An improved bag supporting means is disclosed for gripping a marginal portion of the mouth of a bag comprising a substantially vertical upright peg fixed at its lower end to a support. A resilient locking ring having an inside diameter less than the diameter of the peg is adapted to be moved downwardly over the peg with the marginal portion of the bag being spread over the peg to hold the bag upon the peg. The locking ring may be affixed to the support by anchor means.

Abstract: This device for removing animal droppings, consists primarily of a folding handle, to which is secured an open rim, which will support the open edge portion of a disposable bag, which is held in place by means of a hinged bag clamp, and the bag has a lip portion which extends outwards and away from the bag clamp.

Abstract: Apparatus for holding a bag open comprising an arch, a pair of retaining members for receiving the ends of the arch and holding the arch in a vertical position, means for securing a part of the periphery of the open end of a bag to the arch, and a base member for controlling the separation between the retaining members and for holding another part of the periphery of the bag against the ground.

Abstract: A refuse container assembly for use in a trash compactor, the container having a tapered sleeve and a dish-shaped bottom portion removably attached to the lower end of the sleeve by clamp means which wedges between the dish-shaped bottom portion and the sleeve. The refuse container is easily disassembled for removal of compacted refuse therefrom.

Abstract: The invention relates to a supporting device for a disposable refuse pocket, e.g. of paper or plastics.The device includes parts to which the mouth of the pocket is releasably attached. These parts are preferably spring-loaded towards each other so as to keep the mouth of the pocket closed. Handle or pedal means serve to move these parts apart so as to open the mouth of the pocket against the spring bias. The device has its own base for mounting on a floor.The device serves for the hygienic and aesthetic disposal of refuse in domestic, office, hotel, openair or industrial environments.

Abstract: A collector for leaves and the like is illustrated for positioning a bag for collecting leaves and other refuse therein having an open rim for receiving an open end of a bag which is retained thereabout by an elongated elastic restraining member which confines an open end of the bag over the rim in a groove carried by the outer periphery of the rim.
