The lateral fixation member includes a lateral extension member. The lateral extension member includes an extension bottom plate, and a first extension side plate and a second extension side plate disposed at opposite side edges of the extension bottom plate, respectively. One end of the support plate is connected to the lateral fixation member, and another end of the support plate is configured to extend outside the window frame. One end of the connection member is configured to connect to a window air conditioner, and another end of the connection member is provided in the lateral extension member and connected to the extension bottom plate.

    Abstract: An adjustable brace for supporting a window air conditioner that includes: a pair of interior brackets on the inside adjustably attached to a pair of exterior brackets and a pair of locating brackets on the outside. The pair of exterior brackets includes an exterior leg extending downwardly from one end and adjustably secured to the wall by exterior mounting plates.     Abstract: An improved method and system of temporarily attaching a frame to a masonry building structure. A circular base mount is inserted into a circular sleeve, that has been pre-drilled into masonry by a coring bit. The masonry core is left in place. The circular base has contact with the inner surface of the core, the outer surface of the core, and the top of the core. Adhesive is used to permanently cement the base mount to the masonry core, providing abundant surface area for extra holding power. The base mount has a hooked top web for permanent or temporary connection to a female mount that is held in place to the base mount by rotation and locking. The female mount can be attached to a shutter, providing protection against hurricane winds.

    Abstract: A light-blocking head-rail, and architectural coverings incorporating the headrail, include a light-blocking strip adapted to block out light. Embodiments of the light-blocking strip include bristles which tend to block substantially all of the light that might otherwise pass between a top surface of the headrail and a top beam of an architectural opening. The bristles can conform and fill in gaps between the top surface of the headrail and the top beam, and can further be compressed by a bracket connecting the headrail to the top beam of the architectural opening. Additional embodiments of the light-blocking strip are made from a flexible material that can be easily deflected and compressed when installed within an architectural opening.

    Abstract: A Venetian-style window blind (10) that resembles plantation style shutters is described. In a preferred embodiment, the headrail is shaped like the plurality of slats depending from it, is pivotally connected to the sides of a window frame by mounting brackets and has a hollow interior. Tilting of the plurality slats depending from the headrail is accomplished by vertically moving an actuator rod that is pivotally connected to the headrail. The plurality of slats are suspended from the headrail by a cord ladder to tilt in unison with the headrail. While tilting the blind assembly into the closed position, the headrail and depending slats also slide inwardly towards the windowpane. The slats are lifted through the actuation of a lift handle that is slidably attached to the actuator rod and contains therein a lock mechanism to hold the slats in a desired position.

The mechanism includes an elongated bracket having a a flange at one end extending about right angles to the main body and a reversely curved hook portion at the other end that is joined to the main body and is extended into a second bracket opening, a cable having one end connected to a building and at its opposite end to a stud extended through an aperture in the flange, the second bracket being mounted to the window, and a fastener threadable on the stud to bear against the flange for adjusting the tension in the cable.
