  • Patent number: 7631855
Abstract: A method of using a vibration isolator comprising a first mounting plate and a second mounting plate, and at least one wire cable piece which is connected both to the first mounting plate and to the second mounting plate. The at least one wire cable piece is connected to the two mounting plates in such a way that it extends rectilinearly between the two mounting plates and has a high rigidity in the axial direction as a result of which the resonant frequency is pushed out of the main range of frequency generated by an engine block and further having a low rigidity in the direction of a plane perpendicularly with respect to the axial direction.

Abstract: A damped guiding unit for a portable implement includes a connection element arranged at one end of a guide rod element, for connection of a tool element for the sawing, cutting and/or scything of undergrowth or of grass. A damping element is arranged on the connection element for the damping of oscillations or vibrations caused by the tool element. A holding element is arranged on the guide rod element for holding the portable implement. The holding element and the connection element are structural elements which are respectively separated from each other in that the holding element is associated with a first assembly and the connection element is associated with a further assembly separated from the first assembly. The holding element is further arranged at a distance from the connection element between the one end and the other end of the guide rod element, so that both a direct guiding of the portable implement and also an intensive vibration damping of the holding element is achieved.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a dryer motor assembly support that limits or eliminates cabinet vibration and noise. The dryer comprises a cabinet comprising a floor having an outside peripheral portion, and a central portion with four openings. The dryer further comprises a motor assembly, having a motor and motor mount comprising a base, spaced above the openings. A support assembly for supporting the motor assembly comprises two parallel spaced apart support portions each spaced below and spanning across the central portion, passing beneath the openings. Each support portion has oppositely disposed end portions secured with the peripheral portion. Each support portion comprises two projections extending therefrom toward the base. Each projection passes through a corresponding one of the openings with clearance to secure the support portion with the base, isolating the motor. The motor and support assembly, and the openings are co-located away from the central portion.

  • Patent number: 7584943
Abstract: A bumper assembly for use at a loading dock comprises a resiliently compressible pad protected by a readily replaceable metal faceplate. The bumper assembly has certain metal components that move relative to each other as the bumper assembly is compressed by a vehicle backing into the dock. Those metal components are spaced apart from each other to avoid metal-to-metal frictional wear. In some cases, the compressible pad has internal cavities that help reduce the extent to which the core bulges under compression.

  • Patent number: 7568565
Abstract: A nonlinear attachment induces energy to be transferred and/or to be pumped from a primary system or primary structure to the nonlinear attachment. The nonlinear attachment is an essentially nonlinear device and functions as a nonlinear energy sink. The nonlinear attachment attaches to the primary system or primary structure as a module and does not require connection to a ground. The energy is irreversibly pumped from the primary system or primary structure to the nonlinear attachment during transient resonance capture between the nonlinear attachment and the primary system or primary structure. The nonlinear attachment attenuates the energy of the primary system or primary structure. The nonlinear attachment locally confines the energy and/or dissipates the energy through a passive means and/or an active means.

The channel plate is securely mounted adjacent to a surface of a vehicle and includes a plurality of channels that extend through the plate. The bracket includes a housing for receiving the testing unit and one or more clips. Each clip engages a channel in the channel plate to mount the bracket to the channel plate. In addition, each clip includes at least one finger that includes an engaging portion. The clip is removably engaged into one of the channels by positioning the engaging portion of each finger adjacent the back side of the channel plate such that the bracket is positioned adjacent the front side of the channel plate. • Patent number: 7552902
Abstract: An object such as an electromagnetic valve is resiliently mounted (or in a floating manner) on a mounting base such as an intake manifold of an internal combustion engine. A valve port of the electromagnetic valve is connected to a connecting hole of the intake manifold via an O-ring, and a stay connected to the electromagnetic valve is coupled to a bolt via a resilient member such as a grommet. The bolt is rotated to be fastened to the intake manifold by screwing. A rod portion of the bolt is inserted into a hole of the grommet. Projections and depressions such as grooves extending along the rotational direction of the rod portion are formed on the inner surface of the grommet hole to reduce a contacting area and abrasion force between the grommet and the rod portion. In this manner, deformation of the grommet caused by rotation of the rod portion is suppressed.
