Patent number: 8177173Abstract: A rail which can be bound, by means of a strap, to an elongate object, in particular a cable harness or a line, and has a bearing surface, which is intended to rest against the object, and a binding surface , which is directed away from the bearing surface and accommodates the strap. The binding surface has a plurality of protrusions which are compliant in the direction transverse to this surface. A strap arranged at any desired location of the binding surface is positioned transversely over one or more protrusions, in which case these protrusions are pressed down. Adjacent protrusions which have not been pressed down are located on one side and/or the other, and these resist the lateral displacement of the strap.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 2006Date of Patent: May 15, 2012Assignee: Hellerman Tyton GmbHInventor: Hagen Spiess

Patent number: 8028962Abstract: The disclosed device provides an improved mounting assembly for securely supporting elongated items against a surface. The assembly provides a mount with an aperture, which interacts with a flexible tie for retaining the items. The aperture contains a tab, which provides frictional force for the flexible tie when it is placed through the aperture in a preassembled state. The device may also include a diaphragm and a mounting stud extending downwardly from the mount. The diaphragm will provide tension and resistance when the mounting stud is inserted into a supporting surface. The stud may also contain staggered or asymmetrical branches that extend from either side of a center section of the stud. Furthermore, the stud may include a pilot branch located at the end of the stud that will be inserted into the supporting surface. The stud may have a spine and rib that assist in securing the device within a surface.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2004Date of Patent: October 4, 2011Assignee: HellermannTyton CorporationInventor: Gerard G. Patent number: 8013248Abstract: A corrugated clamp includes a base section, a lid section, and a bracket section. The base section and lid section are provided on their inner peripheral surfaces with concavo-convex portions to be fitted to an annular concavo-convex portion of a corrugated tube. The bracket section projects from an exterior of the base section to be engaged with a vehicle body. A ground wire is drawn out from a wire harness extending through the corrugated tube. A core wire is exposed from the ground wire by stripping an insulation sheath of the ground wire. The exposed core wire is brought into contact with an inner surface of the concavo-convex portion of the base section and is fixed between the inner surface of the base section and an outer surface of the corrugated tube.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 2008Date of Patent: September 6, 2011Assignee: Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd.Inventors: Tsutomu Sakata, Katsuji Suzuura

Publication number: 20110209912Abstract: A nail plate is attached to the outer surface of a wall stud to protect a utility from penetration by nails or other fasteners driven through a wall surface. The nail plate has a substantially rectangular shape with a width corresponding to the width of the stud. The nail plate has a first and second longitudinal ends with nail tabs for attaching the nail plate to the stud. The ends of the nail plate have at least one recess and at least one protruding portion where the protruding portion can mate with a recess of an adjacent nail plate is ganged together. The nail plates can have coupling members to couple a plurality of nail plates in series in an end to end fashion. The longitudinal ends of the nail plate enable the ends to abut each other with no open portions that can allow a fastener to pass though. In one embodiment the nail tabs extend in a longitudinal direction with respect to a longitudinal dimension of the nail plate.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 26, 2010Publication date: September 1, 2011Applicant: HUBBELL INCORPORATEDInventors: Krzysztof W.
