Abstract: The present invention provides a frame having variable dimensions, comprising a plurality of telescoping legs arranged in first and second pairs, with each leg of said first pair being rotatably coupled together and each leg of said second pair being rotatably coupled together; and a scissor link mechanism coupled between the legs of said first and second pairs to vary a length of said plurality of legs in response to a distance between said first and second pairs varying. In one embodiment one end of each of said legs of said first pair is rotatably coupled together and one end of each of said legs of said second pair are rotatably coupled together. In this manner, the dimensions of the frame may be varied to accommodate support of a flexible body, such as a plastic bag, paper sack, fabric sack and the like to provide the same with a desired volume and/or an opening of the same with desired dimensions.

Abstract: A device for holding used dog waste bags includes first and second ends that are connected by an intermediate section of reduced thickness. The first end includes a bag retainer in the form of an enlarged projection, the projection including a pair of bisecting linear slots. The slots are immediately defined by a plurality of flexible triangular fingers that frictionally engage used dog waste bags that are partially inserted through the linear slots. The second end is in the form of an enlarged ring shaped to define a circular opening. By wrapping the intermediate section around a leash and fittingly inserting the projection through the opening, the device forms a closed loop in securement around the leash. With the device clipped to the leash, used dog waste bags can be removably secured to the bag retainer to enable a dog walker to transport the used bags in a hands-free manner.

  • Patent number: 8100370
Abstract: A device for keeping lawn waste or other flexible refuse bags open while filling. The device is made of a resilient and flexible material so that it can be squeezed and easily inserted into the top opening of a refuse bag. The size of the device is proportional to the interior circumference of the opening of the bag so that the device expands when released securing itself within the opening of the bag. The shape of the device is that of a rectangular perimeter of a hyperbolic paraboloid or saddle, having segments that grip the interior corners of the bag when the device is released into position. Once the bag is filled with waste it can be squeezed again, allowing for the removal of the device from the bag and the preparing of the device for insertion into another bag.

Abstract: This invention is intended to be used for yard work such as bagging fallen leaves, trash or lawn and hedge clippings or construction waste or any other type of material gathering procedure which can use this device. This device can be used by janitorial cleaning help. Instead of dragging around a trash bin, they can simply mount a trash bag in the frame and walk around holding the handle of the frame and sweep trash directly into the bag. Using this invention allows the person gathering and bagging leaves and other lawn trash, to be able to set the fixture on the ground with a leaf bag attached. The fixture will hold the bag in place with the mouth held open even on a windy day. The person bagging the trash just have to rake the waste material up to the mouth of the bag and shove it in. This eliminates having to lift the waste in order to put it in a vertical container. This invention is the only device of its kind which affords such advantages.

  • Patent number: 7588217
Abstract: A tool is provided for filling sandbags in an efficient and easy manner, even with a single individual. The tool is in the form of a chute suspended above ground by a plurality of legs. The chute has a mouth at one side and a spout opposite the mouth. The mouth presents a large target into which sand can be placed. This sand then travels through the chute and exits through the spout. A sandbag is placed over the spout so that it captures sand exiting the chute. A fastener is provided, such as in the form of a clip, which removably attaches an opening of the sandbag over the spout. A ballast bag is provided which can be filled with sand and suspended from the chute to enhance the stability of the filler. The legs are removably attachable and the chute is configured to nest with other chutes.
