Abstract: A system of interconnecting structural components for supporting and forming suspended concrete slabs that allow removal of form panels without disturbing the slab support posts (shores). Additional features of the system accommodate changes in suspended slab thickness, horizontal slab dimensions that are not multiples of the basic component dimensions, slab edge cantilevered form panels, attachment to walls and remote manipulation of form panels from the floor below using an erection staff. The primary system components are panels, support posts, telescopic beams, adjustable hanger connections, wall hangers, wall beams, raking shore assemblies and erection/stripping staffs. Form panels are directly supported by the shores without the use of an intermediate member (usually a beam) that is common practice in the concrete forming industry. The system reduces the number of required components that in turn reduces the capital cost to the user and improves his labor efficiency and quality of the concrete surface.

Abstract: Connectors used in manufacturing composite wall structures to substantially prevent forms from being displaced in response to pressure generated by concrete poured between the forms. In a completed composite wall structure, the connectors extend through two structural layers and an insulating layer positioned therebetween. The composite wall structures are formed by positioning the insulating layer between and in a spaced-apart relationship to the two forms. The connectors are subsequently inserted through the insulating layer and the forms. As concrete is then poured into spaces between the forms and the insulating layer, a bearing surface on a form retention segment, which extends beyond the outer surface of the forms, abuts the forms and prevents them from moving away from the insulating layer. The bearing surface is either directly positioned on the form retention segment or on a form locking device attached to the form retention segment.

The apparatus takes the form of a bracket which is to connect with a length of wood such as a conventional 2.times.6. A threaded member associated with the bracket in threading movement causes the bracket to extend from the 2.times.6 to produce a clamping of the 2.times.6 in the bracket between the spaced vertical walls. As a result, a removable barrier is formed which is to contain concrete when it is poured. After sufficient drying of the concrete, the 2.times.6 and the bracket are removed from the vertical side walls leaving the now produced concrete step.

In use, a cement base coat is placed on the surfaces. The mold is tacked in place and the open areas of the mold are filled with cement to form quoins. After the quoins harden, the mold is removed and the entire surface, including molded quoin, is finished with stucco.

Abstract: Multipurpose concrete form panels are constructed using cross stiffener members for resistance to deflection under load. Each of the cross stiffener members is formed of a base strip of metal with a pair of parallel ribs of hat section extending therefrom and joined to opposite side rails of the form panel. Bores for connecting pins extend through the side rails to join the panels side by side to form a wall or, using a corner form, to form a column. Bores through the side rails are positioned between the cross stiffener members and between the ribs in each pair of ribs for joining the side rails together with continuity of the cross stiffener members for maximum dispersal of stress. Holes for wall ties extend through the face of the form panel and between the ribs in each pair of ribs. Fasteners for the ends of the wall ties engage the pairs of ribs to disperse localized stress.

Abstract: An improved system is provided for separation of contiguous concrete portions of a structure. This separation is advantageous in reducing structural failure caused by earth settlement, frost upheaval or excessive underground water pressure by allowing each section of an in-ground concrete structure affected to freely float independent of each other, thereby eliminating the effects of stress on the structure. The system has particular utility in forming a deck surrounding a swimming pool and may be used in conjunction with a form which is temporarily secured near the top on the vertical pool wall to receive the concrete forming the pool. The separator system is used at the interface at the top (on the bond beam) of the pool wall and under the deck and comprises an adapter and clip fastener.
