  • Patent number: 11077268
Abstract: An anesthesia vaporizer system includes a vaporizer reservoir forming a sump chamber containing a liquid anesthetic agent, a piston that forms a first chamber on a first side of the piston. The vaporizer reservoir has a fill port configured to receive a refill container containing liquid anesthetic agent and to permit flow into the first chamber. A motor moves the piston between a first position and a second position, wherein the volume of the first chamber increases as the piston moves from the first position towards the second position. The liquid anesthetic agent is thereby drawn from the refill container into the first chamber. A transfer valve is configured to permit the liquid anesthetic agent to flow from the first chamber into the sump chamber. An outlet port delivers the liquid anesthetic agent from the sump chamber into a vaporizing system that vaporizes it for delivery to a patient.

Abstract: The invention relates to a vacuum gate valve comprising a closure disk for gas-tight closing of an opening by displacement over the opening and pressing of the closure disk onto the opening. A connecting rod with which the closure disk is coupled is linearly adjustable by means of a linear drive unit and the closure disk is thus displaceable between a position uncovering the opening and an intermediate position in which said disk is pushed over the opening. For pressing the closure disk with its closing side onto the valve seat into the closed position by means of an engagement element, at least two limbs are pivotably mounted at one limb end on the back of the closure disk via a first joint and at the other limb end on a support via a second joint. The limbs, the back and the support form an articulated parallelogram.

Abstract: A tip valve assembly for a pneumatic tool with an integrated wear surface. The tool has a portion with an air channel bore housing. The tip valve assembly includes a first valve member having a bore and defining a valve seat about the bore and a second valve member capable of forming a seal with the valve seat. The second valve member can be tilted from the valve seat to permit air flow through the bore of the first valve member. The wear surface projects over only a portion of the cylindrical wall in the bore housing in conjunction with an edge of the second valve member that can be tilted farthest, so the second valve member does not contact the cylindrical wall of the bore housing. As an anti-rotation feature, the second valve member may have an outer periphery with a shaped recess between lobes.

Abstract: A rotary arm-actuated pintle valve assembly having a pintle valve seat, a pintle shaft, and a valve head forming a pintle valve for regulating flow of gas through a valve body. The shaft extends through a port in a wall of the body. A rotary-arm actuator mounted to the body includes an oscillating motor and shaft. An arm mounted on the motor shaft engages the outer end of the pintle shaft and causes the pintle shaft to reciprocate to open and close the valve. The port permits the pintle to move back and forth radially during actuation of the valve. A floating bearing assembly at the port receives the pintle and slides back and forth as directed by the pintle, all the while maintaining a pneumatic seal around the pintle. A centering element is provided within the valve body to guide the pintle in mating the head with the seat.

Abstract: A valve assembly has a valve body in which an inlet port is formed. A valve seat, penetrated by an elliptical opening, is secured in the valve body to provide an outlet port. The inlet port communicates with an inlet chamber, and the outlet port communicates with an outlet chamber. An untethered valve disc is pivotally movable with respect to the valve seat intermediate the inlet and the outlet chambers to control opening and closing of the elliptical opening through the valve seat. A motor and a control rod are utilized selectively to effect pivotal movement of the valve disc to open the valve for fluid flow and to permit closure of the valve when fluid flow is to be discontinued. The motor incorporates a diaphragm to move a piston that, in turn, axially translates the control rod in response to the pressure in a chamber bounded, at least in part, by the diaphragm.
