Platform Type Patents (Class 254/3C)
  • Patent number: 4759684
Abstract: A wheelchair lift which permits the wheelchair to be lifted to an appropriate height by means of a vertically adjustable pedestal including telescoping circular cylinders. The pedestal also includes a generally circular base of a predetermined height for housing the lifting cylinders, a typical example being a hydraulic unit for lifting a barber chair. The lift comprises a pair of elongated generally parallel upwardly facing channel members disposed on either side of the pedestal base for receiving and supporting the wheels of a wheelchair which has been rolled into position thereon. The parallel channels are connected to the uppermost lifting cylinder by means of a downwardly facing channel member which includes a top portion secured to the lift cylinder and two side arm portions extend outwardly and downwardly over the base where they are attached to the parallel channel members intermediate their length.

  • Patent number: 4628553
Abstract: An infant care center that includes a standing, vertical frame and has an infant bed that is suspended outwardly from the vertical frame. The infant bed is adapted to retain the infant and is readily adjustable to a plurality of positions devised for the infant. The bed itself is tiltable about an axis to the various positions and a unique tilt mechanism allows the degree of tilt to be easily selected and then locked into position by attending personnel. The tilt mechanism includes a double acting piston assembly that secures the frame to a point on the infant bed remote from the axis about which the bed is tiltable. The double acting piston assembly includes a piston operable within a cylinder and which divides the cylinder into two variable chambers. Each chamber has a part to introduce and remove hydraulic fluid therefrom and a closed circuit joins the parts so that fluid normally can move from one chamber to the other or the piston travels within the cylinder to move the tilt position of the infant bed.

  • Patent number: 4600348
Abstract: A panel hoist for raising sheet or panel materials such as sheet rock, plywood, rock lath and similar materials. The panel hoist is used to aid in installation of these panels, particularly when the installer is working singlehandedly. The panel hoist includes a telescoping mast assembly, preferably having three stage operation. A collapsible base framework is provided with casters so that the panel hoist can be rolled into position. The collapsible base framework is specially constructed so as to minimize the size of the unit in the collapsed. Two different head assemblies are provided, depending upon whether panels are being installed horizontally or upright. The head assemblies are also collapsible to provide compactness and easy portability.

  • Patent number: 4150755
Abstract: A panel placing device has a carriage frame on which are pivoted links connected pivotally to a panel frame adapted to support a panel. There are springs connected to the links and to the panel frame for urging the panel frame in one rotational direction. A lever pivoted on the carriage frame has a one way abutment with the panel frame and is moved by a tackle connected to the lever and to a rotary drum on the carriage frame. The lever is also pivoted on the carriage frame to swing aside. The drum is rotatable by a crank and is under control of a one way brake and a one way clutch.
