Barometric Patents (Class 261/73)
  • Publication number: 20120267137
Abstract: A carburetor includes a passageway having a constricted section, a nozzle directed into the passageway proximate the constricted section, and a shaft having a surface that at least partially defines the constricted section. The nozzle is configured to deliver fuel to air passing through the passageway, and the surface includes a contour that is configured to be moved relative to the passageway to change the area of the passageway through the constricted section.

  • Publication number: 20100032050
Abstract: The present invention provides a nozzle which can introduce gas into containers placed at a predetermined interval. The nozzle introduces the gas into the container without contacting the container, and includes the main opening where the gas at a first flow rate is discharged and the sub-opening where the gas at the second flow rate is discharged in a same direction as the direction of the gas discharged from the main opening.

  • Publication number: 20090218704
Abstract: This invention provides a mixer without a rotational or similar structure, capable of mixing quickly several liquids including at least one liquid being prone to gel or solidify, a mixing device with the mixer incorporated, and a medical component-measuring unit capable of reducing the formation of thrombi and accurately measuring the concentration of glucose, and with a small time constant, which unit can be incorporated into medical support devices, such as artificial endocrine pancreas devices. The mixer has an air bubble-trapping structure for temporarily trapping air bubbles supplied to a surface of a mixing channel through which liquids to be mixed flow. The mixing device has the mixer, an air bubble supplier or generator to make air bubbles exist in the mixing channel, and a liquid supplier for supplying liquids to be mixed to a liquid inlet. The medical component-measuring unit has the mixer or the mixing device.

  • Patent number: 7362964
Abstract: A humidifier that includes two water reservoir compartments connected via an opening large enough to allow exchange of water between the two compartments, and an ultraviolet lamp that irradiates on the water in the smaller of the two compartments downstream of the larger compartment.

  • Patent number: 7234690
Abstract: A humidifier (10) is disclosed having a top portion (11), a middle portion (12) and a bottom portion (13). The middle portion is essentially a water tank which provides water to be used in humidification. The bottom portion has a floor (41) and side walls (42) extending from the floor to form a tub (43) having a select height (SH1). The bottom portion is configured so that should water be uncontrollably released from the middle portion, the water level within the middle portion (MPEWL) will reach an equilibrium level with the catastrophic water lever (CEWL) within the bottom portion below the selected height of the bottom portion (SH1). When the middle portion water lever (MPEWL) reaches the same height or equilibrium lever with the bottom portion catastrophic water lever (CEWL) the flow of water from the middle portion will cease. As this equilibrium level is below the select height of the bottom portion (SH1) the water will be fully captured and will not overflow onto the underlying floor.

  • Patent number: 6527257
Abstract: A decorative humidifier and fountain apparatus containing water for simultaneously humidifying and purifying air is disclosed that produces soothing sights and sounds as well as efficiently cleaned and humidified air. It includes a housing and a water distributor for forming a water curtain from the water. The water curtain has a first portion and a second portion. An evaporative filter element is sized and proportioned to humidify and filter the air as it passes through the fountain. A pool is positioned so as to receive the water from the water curtain. Water is circulated from the pool to the water distributor with a water circulating means. An air circulator draws air through the first portion of the water curtain, forcing air through the evaporative element, then forcing air through the second portion of the water curtain.

  • Patent number: 6244829
Abstract: A liquid forced-feed apparatus has a built-in float in a hermetic vessel provided with a working fluid inlet port, a working fluid discharge port, a forced-feed liquid inlet port, and a forced-feed liquid discharge port. A snap mechanism which is actuated to operate the working fluid inlet port and the working fluid discharge port with the upward and downward strokes of the float, to thereby force a liquid in the hermetic vessel out through the forced-feed liquid discharge port. A power transmitting shaft for transmitting the upward-and-downward movement of the float to the snap mechanism extends out of the hermetic vessel. The snap mechanism is disposed outside of the hermetic vessel.

  • Patent number: 3987132
Abstract: Flow regulating apparatus comprises a turbulent-flow valve with a fluid supply connected at the upstream side thereof. A fixed pressure bias is applied to the fluid upstream of the valve whereby the mass flow rate of fluid through the valve is directly proportional to the pressure differential across the apparatus when these variations are within a selected pressure range. Such flow regulation may be used in a system for introducing a metered amount of liquid fuel into an air stream to provide a combustible air-fuel mixture having a substantially constant air-to-fuel ratio. With this system air is passed through a constricted zone to increase its velocity to sonic, and the area of the constricted zone is varied in correlation with operating demands imposed upon the engine for which the mixture is produced.

  • Patent number: 3985836
Abstract: The level of fuel in the float bowl of a carburetor is controlled by a semi-spherical inlet valve that is carried by an ambient pressure responsive aneroid-toroidal float assembly in position to coact with a vertically adjustable seat on a fuel inlet whereby the level of fuel in the float bowl is compensated for pressure and altitude variations.
