A limiting element between the inner core and the outer sleeve limits the radial displacement of the inner core. The outer sleeve has an inwardly bent end region. In order to provide a cost-effective elastic bushing providing clearance in the radial and axial directions, the inner core is formed with at least one molded recess in the axial direction, the at least one limiting element is positively inserted in the recess, the limiting element is at a distance from the end region in the axial direction, and the end region limits the axial displacement of the inner core.

Abstract: A vibration damping mount assembly having a vibration damping mount main body and a tubular bracket. The tubular bracket is made of lightweight material composed of non-ferric metal or synthetic resin, and has an inside peripheral face including an upper tapered face and a lower tapered face that gradually expand in diameter towards openings at either axial end from an axially medial section. A flanged portion of a second mounting member is axially juxtaposed against an open end of the upper tapered face, while the lower tapered face is pressed against a rubber fitting, with the lower tapered face locked in contact against an annular mating face of the rubber fitting thereby providing dislodging of the vibration damping mount main body from the tubular bracket.

Abstract: A hydromount assembly includes a first fluid chamber and a second fluid chamber that communicate with one another through an inertia track. The inertia track is interposed between the first and second fluid chambers, and is used as a fluid actuating plunger to move relative to at least one of the first and second chambers in response to vibration to pump fluid from the first chamber to the second chamber, and vice versa, through the inertia track. An opening extends through the first and second fluid chambers and the inertia track and receives a shaft therein. The inertia track is secured to the shaft so that axial movement of the shaft results in axial movement of the inertia track. Elastomeric portions of the hydromount may be differently tuned from one another. The center mount hydromount may be selectively assembled with a body mount, or the body mount integrated into the hydromount whereby the center mount arrangement increases the functionality of the damper.

Abstract: A dual rate shock absorbing apparatus for a suspension system of a heavy off-road vehicle including a housing having two axially elongated members. A dual rate spring package is disposed in the housing. Such spring package includes a first spring assembly for absorbing, dissipating and returning a first predetermined level of energy imparted to the shock absorbing apparatus. One end of the first spring assembly acts against a closed end of the housing and a second end acts against a spring seat. A second spring assembly absorbs, dissipates and returns a second predetermined level of energy. One end of the second spring assembly acts against an opposed closed end of the housing and a second end acts against the spring seat. An axially elongated guide assembly, extending substantially the cumulative length of the first and second spring assemblies, controls axial compression of the first and second spring assemblies.

Abstract: A device of the invention includes a vibration isolator with an elastomeric damper and inner and outer connectors. The inner connector has external and internal threads, and the outer connector has internal threads. A method of the invention includes attaching the vibration isolator to a block by screwing external threads of an internal connector of the isolator into the block. The block with attached isolators is inserted into an enclosure, and each isolator is loosened as necessary to make a flush fit with the enclosure. A screw is then inserted into each isolator and fastens the isolator to the block at the flush position. Finally, a screw is inserted through the enclosure into each isolator to connect the isolators to the enclosure.

Abstract: A geometric shaped side bearing pad includes a top and a surface extending an angle ? towards the top, wherein the bearing pad has a geometric shape and a non-linear spring rate which levels out a reaction force without buckling. The surface of the bearing pad can have two sides or four sides, can have spacing within the surface, or can be solid. The angle ? can be within the range of about 20 degrees and 85 degrees, and may preferably be within the range of about 30 degrees and 45 degrees to achieve non-linear load/deflection. The top of the bearing pad can have a slot defined therethrough to accommodate a protrusion in a fixture to engage the bearing pad. The bearing pad can provide a friction contact with an object and enables lateral force transfer to the bearing pad, thereby providing lateral stiffness.

Abstract: The present invention provides an improved Micro Cellular Urethane (hereinafter ‘MCU’) bump stop/spring aid having a plurality of struts adapted to level the rate transition as sections are folded onto one another. MCU bump stops/spring aids are well known in the art to assist vehicle suspension systems. More particularly, bump stops/spring aids are frequently used with vehicle suspension systems in connection with shocks and strut assemblies. These assemblies provide a comfortable ride in addition to influencing the control and handling of the vehicle. The struts are positioned around the circumference of the MCU bump stop/spring aid. The added struts between the undercuts partially support the outer surfaces of the MCU bump stop/spring aid. Struts are generally molded between the outer surfaces. Struts may also be molded on an inner surface. The plurality of struts improves upon existing technology by improving performance characteristics.
