Patent number: 4494739Abstract: A clamping assembly is operated by a piston and cylinder assembly rotatably mounted on a support. A mounting bracket rotatably mounted on the support is provided with a pair of pivotally mounted plates each having a clamping arm and a cam track. The mounting bracket includes an annular shoulder engaging the support; a flange draws the shoulder against the support, thereby selectively locking the bracket and the piston and cylinder against rotation in any of a plurality of rotational positions. A drive rod connected to the piston extends through the support and into an elongate slot in the bracket. A pair of rollers secured to the outer end of the rod are disposed in the cam slots and drive the plates to pivot. The cam slots are specially configured to lock the clamp in a locking position in the event that fluid pressure is lost in the piston.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 1983Date of Patent: January 22, 1985Assignee: State Die & Engineering, Inc.Inventor: Al L. Patent number: 4488714Abstract: A machine tool table is disclosed having a lock accessible at the front of the table for applying pressure through a connection to a rear board so that a fence and at least one table spacer are held in position between the rear board and the front table. The lock may be adjusted at the front table to release the pressure so that the position of the fence may be changed.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 1983Date of Patent: December 18, 1984Inventor: Fred Phillips

Patent number: 4469362Abstract: A gripper arrangement for a lifting or hoisting apparatus serves to transport workpieces having a journal or plug-like end. This gripper arrangement or gripper contains a housing in which two slides are essentially symmetrically arranged and radially displaceably guided with respect to a primary or main axis. At each of the slides there is supported a respective clamping or chucking jaw by means of a related guide device which is connected with the related clamping jaw by means of a radial inner hinge joint and with the related slide by means of a radial outer hinge joint which is arranged further towards the outside in axial direction than the radial inner hinge joint. Within the housing there is rotatably mounted a control body member which is operatively coupled with a drive motor. At the control body member there are formed control cams which, during rotation of the control body member, displace the slides.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 1982Date of Patent: September 4, 1984Assignee: Maag Gear-Wheel & Machine Co.
