Abstract: A vise has an adjustable feature including a pair of adjustable members extending from a movable jaw toward another jaw. The adjustable members are movable independently of each other and independently of the movable jaw and permit clamping of uneven pieces or clamping of a piece off center between the jaws. Another adjustable feature permits the movable jaw to be held down during clamping operations.
Abstract: According to the present invention a plurality of blanks (2) to be surface machined in working machines are placed side by side and fixed in a frame (1), open at both sides, in such a way that the blanks (2) can be machined at least at two sides while the fixation of the blanks (2) in the frame (1) is maintained. The blanks (2) are fixed tensionless in the frame (1) in such a position where the blanks bear against the frame sides on which the machining forces work during machining. The frame (1) with the blanks (2) fixed therein is first kept clamped with one side (4) resting against a machine support (6), while the portions (17) of the blanks (2) at the opposite side (5) are machined. After that the frame (1) is turned in such a way that the blanks (2) with its machine portions (17) rest against a support (6) consisting of a plane magnet plate, whereupon the blanks (2) are machined on the side (18) facing away from said support (6).

Abstract: The present invention relates to a vise for securely supporting a workpiece relative to a fixed support. The vise includes a base member which is secured relative to the fixed support. A clamp assembly is rotatably mounted with respect to the base member and includes a pair of jaw members one member of which, except for the relative rotative movement between the clamp assembly and the base member, is fixed relative to the base member. The second jaw member is pivotally interconnected to the first jaw member. Both jaw members have a workpiece engaging surface formed thereon with the engaging surfaces arranged in a facing relation to one another. The vise further includes a threaded handle pivotally mounted on the second jaw member and cooperating with the fixed jaw member for pivoting the jaws relative to one another to move the workpiece engaging surfaces toward one another whereby a workpiece positioned between the surfaces will be securely supported.

Abstract: For producing the seat or valve member of a labyrinth valve a number of rings of different diameter are placed one inside the other as a workpiece with their blade-like edges turned in the same direction. The group of rings is then slipped over the middle guide or stem of a jig so that the downwardly turned blade-like edges on the rings come to rest against upwardly directed ring-like blades on the jig. These blades are designed with a form answering to the form of the other valve part with which the workpiece is to be used. The rings in the workpiece are pressed down against the blades for leveling them and are then welded together, for example by electron beam welding.

Abstract: A device for finishing a wet plaster surface is disclosed. The device of the present invention comprises a finishing tool holder which includes a handle engaging lower end. An upper end of the holder broadens to a planar fan shape, and the upper end is notched to create a step. A filler piece complementary to and substantially filling the notch is inserted therein. A threaded fastener proximate a lower end of the notch secures a lower end of the filler piece to the handle. A pair of spaced apertures near the upper end of the holder are aligned with a pair of spaced apertures in the filler piece, and a pair of threaded fasteners engage the aligned apertures to secure a variety of surface finishing tools to the holder. The surface finishing tools which are directly attachable to the handle include an elongated brush, a variety of trowels with various widths and edge forms, and a circular or star-shaped cup.
Abstract: A hold-down clamp comprises a base member adapted to be affixed to the bed of a machine tool, a clamping face adapted to clamp a work piece thereto, a vertical member rigidly affixed to the base member, a dogleg-shaped arm having one end pivoted to a mid-point in said vertical member and the other end to said clamping face, and an elongated screw between the upper end of the vertical member and the knee of the dogleg for moving the clamping face to and from the work piece.
Abstract: A power saw circular blade change assist which has a horizontal base and a vertical holder extending upward from the base. Unless located so as not to interfere with the start of a horizontal cut, the column and abutment may be moved away from the working surface temporarily.
Abstract: A clamping device or clamp block which may be used to secure a work piece in place on rotary tables, mill tables, fixtures and the like, comprises a unitary block having a slot cut substantially across one dimension of the block to form a principal body portion and a jaw portion interconnected by a hinge portion at the end of the slot, a hole being formed through the body portion of the clamp parallel with the slot to receive a bolt for securing the clamp in place, another tapped hole being formed through the body perpendicular to the slot for receiving a threaded screw to act upon the jaw.
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to electrical connectors and more particularly to the electrical connectors which are commonly known as cable bonding clamps. The system includes junction blocks having non-intersecting smooth walled holes extending through the blocks in at least two different directions, threaded connecting rods insertable through the holes in the junction blocks, and nuts for securing the junction blocks on the rods when the rods are disposed through the blocks. One form of the invention also includes a pressure foot for applying the force to a work piece. The pressure foot has a leg portion having a smooth walled blind hole for slidable mounting on a threaded rod, and a transverse slot intersecting the holes to receive a flexible member for holding the pressure foot on the rod.
Abstract: A grinder for sharpening saw chain cutting teeth includes a base, an arcuate guide arranged on the base, a power-driven rotary grinding wheel mounted on a pivotal motor arm movable with a mounting bracket along the arcuate guide and a releasable, self-centering clamp for holding a segment of a saw chain in position beneath the grinding wheel. The clamp includes laterally opposed elongate bars which support a saw chain and which are each simultaneously displaceable at equal rates toward a preselected datum line. The preselected datum line intersects a fixed, reference axis about which the mounting bracket is angularly displaced. Because the elongate bars are movable equally with respect to the preselected datum line, the lengthwise centerline of a saw chain will always be maintained substantially aligned on the preselected datum line regardless of the width of the chain. The arcuate guide is an elongate bar having an arcuate guide track which receives the motor arm mounting bracket.
