Including Opposed Cylinder-piston Means Patents (Class 269/33)
  • Patent number: 5855365
Abstract: An engine clamping apparatus is provided for firmly fixing engines having different fixing points. The invention includes a cylinder serially accommodating an upper and lower piston for providing a shorter rising stroke when supplying an oil pressure so that a rising stroke of the lower piston pushes up the upper piston, than upon supplying the oil pressure so as to push up only the upper piston. The engine clamping apparatus also includes an operating rod extended to top portion of the upper piston, a groove formed in a side of a body of the operating rod, a rotating grip pivotable about a hinge shaft and having one end bound in the groove, and a fixing bar horizontally projected at a free end of the rotating grip, the fixing bar being pushed into a fixing hole of an engine so as to fix the engine when the operating rod is raised and a free end of the rotating grip is lowered.

  • Patent number: 5713112
Abstract: An engaging device for releasably engaging an object. The engaging device comprising a supporting part and an engaging part mounted on the supporting part for pivotal movement about two spaced apart axes between two stable conditions, one being an engaging condition and the other being a release condition. The two axes being defined by means carried on a portion of the supporting part, the supporting part being resiliently deflectable at said means defining the two axes to accommodate movement of the engaging part between the two stable conditions and to urge the engaging part into one or other of the two stable conditions. The supporting part may define a housing which accommodates the engaging part and which provides protection to the resilient portions of the device.

  • Patent number: 5505811
Abstract: A sidewall applicator for heat fusion of a fitting to a plastic pipe has first and second spaced apart paralleled main shafts each having a lower end that is supported by rounding shells to the exterior of the plastic pipe so that the main shafts are supported in a plane that includes the pipe tubular axis. A housing is slidably supported by and positioned between the main shafts. A hydraulic displaceable force piston extends from the housing in the direction towards the pipe. A fitting holder is removably attached to the force piston which, in turn, removably supports the plastic fitting to be secured to the pipe. Brake arms are pivotally supported to the housing, each having an outer end that releasably engages one of the main shafts. An actuator piston supported in the housing is in closed communication with a fluid filled passageway within the housing, the fluid passageway being in communication with the brake pistons and the force piston.

  • Patent number: 4553460
Abstract: The work-holding fixture (1) for metal power saws is characterized by two gripping jaws (3, 4) arranged on the side of the work rest (6) facing away from the saw blade (5) bilaterally of the cutting plane (7--7), these gripping jaws being adjustable perpendicularly to the feeding direction (a) of the workpiece (2) by an arrangement of hydraulic clamping cylinders (8, 9), and also characterized by two work-gripping supports (11, 12) movably arranged on the machine frame (10) on the side of the work rest (6) facing the saw blade (5) bilaterally of the saw blade (5), with a toggle lever control (13, 14) for producing an opening moment (M) acting on the cutting gap (28) in the workpiece (2).

  • Patent number: 4270741
Abstract: A vise for thin objects such as doors has improved features that allows the doors to be transported on the vise and also accommodates various thicknesses of doors. The vise has a pair of jaws hinged together by a spring loaded hinge. The spring urges the jaws apart. The weight of the door overcomes the spring, drawing the jaws into contact with the door for support. Each jaw is mounted on a wheel for transporting. Each jaw also has an adjustable plate mounted on its inner side for varying the effective opening of the jaws.
