  • Publication number: 20020140191
Abstract: The “Add-Ezi-Hold” bracket will be used to facilitate handling of garbage cans or similar containers while using a hand truck. Bracket is designed to fit on center support of hand truck and to slip up and down on the support so as to firmly affix a trash can or other container while moving the hand truck. Container is loaded on the hand truck platform and is tipped or balanced to be in direct contact with back support of the hand truck. Once the container is in this position, bracket is slipped downward with the bottom edge of bracket lip slipping over the rim of the container. This permits hand truck and its load to be moved easily with one hand as opposed to the ungainly method of moving the hand truck with one hand while steadying load (container) with the other hand. To remove the container from hand truck, it is only necessary to lift bracket enough to clear container rim.

  • Patent number: 6375200
Abstract: A wheeled carrier for hunting is provided which provides a cart for transporting a bag full of decoys and can be converted into a bench seat or a reclined seat for the hunter after reaching his hunting blind. The carrier has three planar frame structures connected to each other. The frame structures are adjustable relative to each other to a first angular position in which the carrier has a generally L-shaped transport configuration, a second angular position in which the carrier has a generally inverted U-shaped bench seat configuration, a third angular position in which the carrier has a reclined seat configuration, and a fourth angular position in which the carrier has a compact storage configuration. A pair of removable wheel assemblies are connected to the middle frame structure for supporting the carrier in its L-shaped transport configuration. A plurality of straps and buckles are connected to the frame structures and the decoy bag for attaching the decoy bag to the carrier.

  • Patent number: 6364331
Abstract: A wafer transport cart comprises a wheeled support structure and an upright member which is pivotably coupled to the support structure. The upright member has a handle which is pivotably coupled to a wafer cassette support, which comprises a pair of fork-like arms. Wafer production personnel can maneuver the cart adjacent a wafer manufacturing load port, and unload a wafer cassette from the cart to the load port or vice versa, by employing movements of the upright member and the handle. Shock-absorbing dampers are provided for the upright member and the handle. An inter-cart coupling mechanism enables a plurality of carts to be joined together for tandem transport within the manufacturing facility. The arms mate with mating regions on the wafer cassette and on the load port. An alignment notch mates with an alignment pin on the load port. Also described are methods of using the wafer transport cart to load and unload a wafer cassette.

  • Patent number: 6328330
Abstract: A device for attaching to a ladder allows the ladder to function as a hand truck. The device includes a pair of retractable wheels. The retractable wheels can be stored away inside an outer profile of an opened or closed stepladder, so that the wheels do not interfere with a user when the ladder is opened and do not take up space when the ladder is closed. The device may also include a retractable carry platform for holding loads when the ladder is used as a hand truck. A reverse side of the carry platform can serve as a paint bucket support or work surface when the ladder is in use. Both the retractable wheels and the retractable carry platform are attached to the ladder by a frictional engagement which does not violate the structural integrity of the ladder.

  • Patent number: 6237925
Abstract: A hand truck having ground engaging members which tilt the hand truck under conditions of greater leverage than that available by grasping the frame of the hand truck. The ground engaging members are journaled to the frame of the hand truck. In one embodiment, the ground engaging members assume the entire weight of the loaded hand truck. In another embodiment, the ground engaging members push the front end of the hand truck upwardly, employing the wheels as a fulcrum. In the second embodiment, the wheels remain in contact with the ground. In the first embodiment, the ground engaging members serve also as a fulcrum, allowing the wheels to be elevated off the ground. In both embodiments, the ground engaging members are powered either by a foot operated lever or a hand operated lever. In the first embodiment, the foot or hand operated lever is rigidly fixed to the ground engaging members. In the second embodiment, the foot or hand operated lever is a separate part which moves flippers by a multipart linkage.

  • Patent number: 6234497
Abstract: A hand truck with a folding nose piece that uses an efficient mechanism to secure the nose piece in either one of a first position, ideal for the transportation of items, and a second position, ideal for storage of the hand truck. The hand truck includes a frame having a pair of wheels over which the center of gravity of items is aligned during transport. A nose piece is rotatably attached to the frame and is rotatable between a first position, generally perpendicularly extended from the frame, and a second position, generally parallel to the frame. A lever pivotally connected to the frame moves between a locked position and an open position. The lever engages and maintains the nose piece in the first position when the lever is in the locked position. The lever also engages and maintains the nose piece in the second position when the lever is in the locked position. The nose piece is movable between the first position and the second position when the lever is in the open position.
