  • Publication number: 20110308870
Abstract: A flat plate nose frame design for a tractor in which a thick, flat structural plate is connected to and forwardly extends from the conventional frame rails of the tractor. The flat plate nose frame design increases vertical clearance under the hood without raising the hood height or reducing ground clearance. The nose plate is contoured to match the exterior contours of the tractor grill and hood eliminating the need for a separate aesthetic component covering the nose plate. The nose plate features a pair of vertically aligned short-height frame plates extending forwardly along the axis from the deep-section frame rails to increase strength in the flat nose plate without significantly increasing vertical height of the nose plate assembly. The flat plate nose frame is capable of withstanding operational loads as well as supporting a weight package or front-mounted implements.

Swivel jacks are mounted on the frame to allow the frame to be raised and lowered, and additionally provide means to move the dolly with an attached demountable handle.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for transporting a game animal a hunter has killed or other large animal body is provided. The apparatus has a hitch bar attachable to a hitch receiver on a vehicle. A platform is connected to the hitch bar so that when the hitch bar is connected to a vehicle, the hitch bar alone supports the platform above the ground. For transporting an animal a hunter has killed, the head of the animal is secured onto the platform with the body of the animal extended behind the platform and lying on the ground. The animal can then be pulled by the vehicle, with the head supported above the ground by the platform and the body being pulled behind the platform along the ground.

  • Patent number: 7448523
Abstract: A vehicle article carrier having a pair of cross bars that can be positioned in a stowed, position, resting on or adjacent to a corresponding pair of siderails, or moved into an operative position with the cross bars extending perpendicularly between the siderails. The cross bars are completely removable from each of the side rails. When the cross bars are in the stowed position, the apparatus presents a significantly more aerodynamic structure that helps to reduce wind noise when the vehicle on which the apparatus is mounted is being driven. The cross bars can be quickly moved into the operative position via latching mechanisms disposed at end that can be released from a securing structure at a forward portion and a rearward portion of each siderail and re-attached to a securing portion of the other siderail.

The three components adjustably interconnect and the horizontal arm connects to the trailer receiver hitch by a pin inserted through a hole in one component and into one of a series of spaced holes in the adjacent component. The horizontal platform comes in different replaceable sizes for different tools, so that each tool can stay attached to the properly sized horizontal platform and the platforms replaced on the vertical arm to change tools.
