    Abstract: A coupling for interconnecting two double-walled pipes, e.g. production filter pipes (10, 12). The coupling may have the shape of a connector (10A, 12A) divided into two parts, each part (10A, 12A) being attachable on the end portion of a double pipe (10, 12), the parts (10A, 12A) of the connector being interconnectable, preferably mutually screwable. Such double pipes (10, 12) have two concentric liquid passages, one through the inner pipe (14) and one through the annulus-like, concentric liquid passage 920) between inner pipe (14) and outer pipe (16). In order not to block the outer concentric liquid passage (20) at the joint place (10A, 12A) so that liquid flowing therewithin must be transferred to said smaller pipe through a valve, longitudinally extending, through-going flowing channels (18) have been formed in the joint area; said channels (18) may be distributed circumferentially, thus allowing continuous flow of liquid past the coupling area (10A, 12A).

A corresponding end of the outer hose sealably interengages an enlarged outer surface of the ferrule. This seals each end of the safety hose apparatus so that water leaking through a rupture in the inner hose is retained within the outer hose. A drain port attached to the outer hose discharges water that has leaked from the inner hose to a drain line.

The inner pipe is centralized within the inner pipe to provide axial resistance but minimum restraint transverse to the axis of the assembly. The inner pipe may be centralized within the outer pipe by the use of foam injected between the inner and outer pipe and a corrugated web sleeve around the ends of the inner pipe.     Abstract: A service riser 10 comprises a steel jacket 11 around a polyethylene pipe 12 which terminates in the riser at a transition zone 20. The transition zone 20 comprises a retainer sleeve 30 inserted in the end of the pipe 12 and sealed thereto by an O-ring 38. The retainer sleeve 30 extends out of the pipe 12 and is provided with grooves 46 separated by lands 48 on which an elastomeric sealing band 52 is received. The tube 11 is swaged down forming a swage groove 56 around the retainer sleeve 30 compressing the gasket 52 to a large extent over the lands 48 and a lesser extent over the grooves 46, the ideal compression for the gasket 52 being arranged somewhere between such degrees of compression. By this means the ideal degree of compression at some regions of the gasket 52, forming an annulus around the retainer sleeve 30, is guaranteed, despite tolerances in the dimensions of the tube 11 (especially) as well as the band 52 and sleeve 30.
