Abstract: A method of reworking a head suspension removes a slider from the head suspension by pressing a blade from a first side toward a second side in a longitudinal direction of the slider to solder ball bonding, stopping the second side of the slider in the longitudinal direction with a holding mechanism, and forcing the blade to bite and cut the solder ball bonding to remove the slider from the flexure. The solder ball bonding is cut without applying extra force to components of the head suspension except the slider. The method improves product yield.

Abstract: A bracket is fitted over an external connector that has fingers, such as EMI fingers, that are spring loaded and provide electrical connections between outside panels and the main enclosure of a device. The bracket depresses the EMI fingers and provides ease of removal. A tool is dimensioned so that a user has room to grip it while not interfering with a bracket, such as a PCI bracket, when in use. The tool is dimensioned so that it can be slid over a bracket so as to compress the fingers, such as EMI fingers, and the bracket can be removed without damaging the connector. A cut out may be offset from the center to provide additional surface to grip by a user.

Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for detaching a component from a mounting surface to which the component is attached by an adhesive. The apparatus includes a right-angled hook, a curved hook, a connecting body and an adjusting member. On one side of the component, the right-angled hook protrudes into a first space between the component and the mounting surface. On another side of the component, the curved hook protrudes into a second space between the component and the mounting surface. The connecting body connects the right-angled hook and the curved hook. In response to a thermal process, the adhesion of the adhesive is reduced, and an adjustment of the adjusting member allows the curved hook to provide a shear force in order to detach the component from the mounting surface. A method for detaching a component from a mounting surface is also disclosed.
