A cleaner from the robot is applied onto a surface within the shell of the reactor that includes a foulant. The cleaner is adapted to remove the foulant from the surface within the shell of the reactor. The cleaner may be one of light radiation, heat radiation, ultra-high pressure fluid, and liquid nitrogen.

    Abstract: A tool for removing slag from a flame-cut edge of metal includes a downwardly facing cup containing a plurality of steel balls. Only a portion of each ball extends from the lower end of the cup. A radially outer wall of the cup slants from a first position at its upper end to a second radially outer position at its lower end. As a result, when the cup rotates, centrifugal force urges the balls downwardly with a force that is proportional to the speed of rotation. As the cup moves over slag, lateral impact from the balls remove the slag. Because the balls are not connected to surrounding structure, they are free to rapidly move upwardly in the cup in response to hitting the edge of the cut. Consequently neither the edge nor the surface of the metal is peened or otherwise marred or disfigured.

    Abstract: According to the invention, a method is used for surface treatment of objects (7), wherein wire rollers (15) are caused to contact the object (7) to exert a blow or hammer impact, which wire rollers (15) partly rotate (8), partly revolve (12), partly move (14) transversely to the object (7) on the belt (11). A rotating wire roller (15) may advantageously be used, which roller is composed of wire elements (1, 2, 3) mounted on stays (4) so that they may bounce slightly rearwards (9) at impact, and otherwise remain in the same position by means of the centrifugal force and the engagement of the wire end with an adjacent stay (4).

    Abstract: A deburrer machine for cutting burrs (2), which consists out of a rotating deburring body (3) and travelling carriage (6) is foreseen for application especially on longitudinally cut slabs in flow. For deburring the deburring pistons (4) perform a rotary movement around the deburring body axis (21), whereby they approach to the cutting burr (2) from the workpiece side. Therefore the rotation axis is arranged in a way that the deburring pistons (4) turn below the lower workpiece surface outside the workpiece (1) after having finished the deburring procedure in order to lift again against this lower surface. Inside the deburring body (3) is placed a pressure chamber (18) which effects the lifting of the deburring pistons (4). Thereby the air contained in the lower piston guidance (12) is displaced and then the throttled air is led-off via bores in the lower part of the deburring piston (4) in order to dampen the piston movement.
