With Other Attaching Provision For Connecting Rod Patents (Class 29/888.051)
  • Patent number: 10161393
Abstract: A drive system for a pump includes a housing defining an internal pressure chamber, a working fluid disposed within and charging the internal pressure chamber, and a reciprocating member disposed within the internal pressure chamber. The reciprocating member has a pull chamber. A pull is secured within the pull chamber, and a fluid displacement member is coupled to the pull.

  • Publication number: 20130110076
Abstract: A single-use auto-disable syringe device utilizes a locking element to prevent re-use of the syringe by locking the plunger rod with respect to the barrel upon completion of an injection stroke. The plunger rod includes a plurality of teeth comprising distally facing shoulders provided on a majority of the length of an elongate portion of the plunger rod.

  • Patent number: 8079145
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a connecting rod assembly including the steps of defining a small end of a connecting rod assembly having a terminal end and then defining a pin bore extending through the small end of the connecting rod assembly. A pair of channels is formed on opposite sides of the small end of the connecting rod assembly wherein the axis of each of the channels is substantially perpendicular to the axis of the pin bore. At least partially annular grooves are formed within the pin bore adjacent the distal end of the pin bore. The connecting rod assembly is then machined to reduce the width of the small end between each channel and the terminal end to provide a small end having a reduced width configuration wherein the grooves are disposed along at least a portion of the distal end to reduce the need to deburr the area adjacent the pin bore.

  • Patent number: 6817278
Abstract: A piston assembly for use in a hydraulic cylinder includes a piston head configured to slide axially within the hydraulic cylinder in response to changes in hydraulic pressure. The piston head has an axial through-hole. A piston rod has a proximal end axially abutting the piston head and a distal end extending outward through an end of the hydraulic cylinder. The proximal end of the piston rod has a threaded bore co-axial with the axial through-hole in the piston head. A bolt has a bolt head and an unthreaded shank portion adjacent the bolt head and a threaded shank portion away from the bolt head. The bolt secures the piston head to the proximal end of the piston rod when the bolt shank is inserted through the axial through-hole in the piston head and is threadingly engaged in the threaded bore in the piston rod. An annular washer is positioned and held captive on the unthreaded portion of the bolt shank between the bolt head and the piston head.

  • Patent number: 6289786
Abstract: A vehicle brake actuator including an improved piston assembly having a piston plate including an upstanding annular rim portion and a piston rod including a shank portion having a generally cylindrical head portion and an annular rim portion on a free end of the piston rod head portion which is deformed radially into a cylindrical internal surface of the piston plate upstanding rim portion, permanently attaching the piston plate and rod. The method includes piercing and extruding the upstanding rim portion of the piston plate and forming radially projecting teeth on an external surface of the head portion of the piston rod, driving the head portion of the piston rod into the upstanding rim portion of the piston plate, preventing relative rotation of the piston rod and head. The improved piston assembly of this invention eliminates welding, permitting finishing of the piston rod and plate prior to assembly and reduces cost.

  • Patent number: 6257121
Abstract: The piston (1) has a ball receptacle (14) for the rod head (4) of the piston rod (2) of a swash plate compressor. For absorbing particularly high pressures the rod head (4) has a relatively large diameter, so that the ball receptacle (14) extends close to the circumference of the piston (1). The piston wall (15) laterally surrounding the rod head (4) has a circumferential indentation (21) which, in the inwards direction, forms an uninterrupted undercut enclosing the spherical rod head (4).
