  • Patent number: 8641103
Abstract: An aircraft latch utilizes a spindle in combination with an over-center linkage assembly to impart linear motion to a hook member, causing the hook member to either disengage or engage a keeper member on the adjacent structure. The over-center linkage and the spindle are operated by different and independent operations of a handle member. Specifically, the over-center linkage is moved from a stored position, in which the two link members are in end-to-end axial alignment, to a position in which the two link members are no longer in end-to-end axial alignment. This movement is caused by pivoting the handle member from a position in which the longitudinal axis of the handle member is parallel to the axis of the aligned link members, to a second position in which the handle member is pivoted at least ninety degrees. This pivoting motion, which may be accompanied by other actions, such as releasing a trigger, causes the two link members to pivot with respect to each other, or “break”.

  • Patent number: 8113551
Abstract: A latch and keeper combination is utilized for securing a radome to an aircraft fuselage. The keeper has a keeper housing and an eyebolt member which extends toward the latch from the keeper housing. The latch has a pivoting handle member pivotally attached to a latch housing. A hook member depends from the handle member. Once the hook member is generally placed about the eye bolt, depressing the handle member further causes the hook to rotate within the latch housing. As the handle member is completely depressed, the hook member fully engages the eye bolt, while at the same time members axially extend from the latch to engage the keeper which provides a resistance to shear between the latch and keeper. The apparatus may also have a safety which prevents the handle from fully closing until the eye bolt is fully engaged by the hook member, thereby providing visual confirmation that the latch has completely engaged the keeper.

When in the child-safety mode, the range of motion of the sliding door is restricted, however, the latch may be disengaged by an adult from either side of the sliding door. The latch may also be employed in a security mode to prevent any opening of the sliding door from the exterior side. The latch may additionally be employed in a ventilation mode wherein the sliding door is slightly opened with overriding of the latch available only from the interior of the sliding door.

  • Patent number: 5725260
Abstract: A locking arrangement comprises a movable control member at the wing and a stationary counter-member at the frame. The control member is arranged at a connecting rod and is displaceable longitudinally along with the latter by means of a handle. In this way, the locking arrangement is displaced between a closing position and a releasing position. In order to achieve a trouble-free arrangement with a reliable closing position, at least one lever with a hook opening is provided in the counter-member which cooperates with the control member as a hook lever. This hook lever is swivelable transversely to the displacement direction of the control member. In the closing position, the hook lever is swiveled toward the control member until a hook opening receives the control member and its outer hook leg engages in front of the control member. In the releasing position, the hook lever is swiveled away from the control member and its outer hook leg is situated outside of the displacement direction of the control member.

  • Patent number: 5556142
Abstract: A latch and keeper combination for use with an aircraft panel or the like for joining one member to another member under tension and shear loading. A keeper for attaching to one member and having a bracket with an eye bolt and a bushing included therein, and a latch for attaching to another member and having a housing with cover and a hook, a lever and a shear pin included therein. The hook and lever are rotatably mounted in the housing for rotation about an axis, with the hook having an arcuate finger for engaging the keeper eye bolt, with the shear pin sliding into and out of the keeper bushing and with the lever driving the pin. The hook rotates the lever to a closed position to engage the shear pin with the bushing and to an open position to disengage the shear pin from the bushing. A plunger carried in the housing for translation along the axis, and a spring in the housing for urging the plunger outward along the axis, with plunger and hook providing for locking the hook in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 5504587
Abstract: A paper feed roller (5) is divided into a first roller (5a) and a second roller (5b); a slit (58) through which about 10 to 20 sheets of documents can pass is formed between the first roller and a gate plate (57) opposite to this; and the paper fed out therefrom is fed out to a space between the second roller (5b) and a separation pad (7) in contact with this. Also, there is adopted a construction in which the pressing force of a paper conveyance spring is transformed by a slide cam sliding in a direction parallel to the paper feed roller; and the paper width detection sensor is assembled by a fitting construction.

  • Patent number: 4858970
Abstract: The present invention relates to a low profile latch for joining two members of an aircraft having a keeper mounted upon one member. The latch is rotatably mounted about a mounting bushing at one end of a pair of compression links whose opposite end pivotally mounts a hook that engages the keeper. Mounted at the pivot point between the hook and compression links is a first part of a two part handle whose second part is attached from the first handle part to a pair of side plates that form a further linkage. The side plates rotate about the mounting bushing, while the opposite ends thereof are connected by control links to the hook. The further linkage formed by the cover, side plates, and control links stabilizes the handle and hook and provides a smooth, controlled movement of the hook as the handle is opened and closed.

  • Patent number: 4705308
Abstract: A draw pull latch for securing two members together comprises a keeper affixed to one of the members and a second one-piece part which is composed of three segments; i.e., a base segment, an intermediate segment, and a locking segment. The base segment is adapted for being affixed to the second one of the members and the intermediate segment is flexibly connected to the base segment and the locking segment for pivotal movement of the segments about transverse axes. When in the locked condition, the intermediate segment is disposed in substantially coplanar relation to the base segment, and the locking segment is disposed in overlying relation to the base segment and the intermediate segment and to the keeper. The locking segment is detachably connected to the keeper, and the flexible connection between the intermediate and locking segments is closer to the second member than the flexible connection between the intermediate and base segments.
